I once wrote a song very similar to this eight years ago But I forgot how to play it which I am now beating myself every day for it now I’m regretting it. I wish I had recorded myself then.
Both movies of Eddie and the Cruisers take me back in time to the late 60's and early 70's in South Jersey I remember the clubs in Wildwood , Tony Mart , The Dunes till dawn, that was a great time
I said hey little girl Take me by the hand Walk with me down this Boardwalk One last time again We'll see those pretty pier lights Hear those Carnival sounds We'll stop right at the top tonight When the Ferris wheel goes round Well I sing for these tourists 'Bout a dream life on the water But when the dream it gets broken This life gets harder and harder Leave this candy apple town behind get out while I still can I'm goin' to New York City With this guitar in my hand I've been wishin' on these stars too long Playin' in these bars too long I've been hold up in your arms too long I've been a prisoner of my heart too long I'm goin' to New York City Gotta find out where I stand And I'll be walking down Broadway With this guitar in my hand
Chris2Crazzy.......That's harsh when your children are kept from You. I KNOW....BEEN THERE. FOCUS ON building YOUR BEST LIFE...so when SHE DOES GET TO SEE YOU, SHE WILL BE PROUD OF YOU
@@HiThere-sc2jr oh I have been, she kept bugging her mother to see me well my ex wife caved in this was 4 months ago I got to see her 3 times in 16 year's ain't life grand
I did a cover once I hope I can share it with you all sometime in the future. One of my good bros fav song. To bad he passed away n the cold. One deadly guitar player
Will the world ever know your secrets did you really just disappear or did you actually jump in the river and your body was rushed out to see I don't think anybody will ever answer that question but the movie LED people to believe you stood there watching yourself sing on the old days seasons in hell so it's a good possibility you're gone now but you stayed alive long enough to see what was going on but if you did why did you break your girlfriend's heart she loves you more than anything in the world so I can t believe you got swept out to the ocean but that's just my thought your music was so far ahead of time I don't even think we've caught up to me again maybe our kids will catch up to it but you were just so far beyond your time especially seasons in hell it holds a deer spot in my heart so long from Maine
It's probably considered blasphemy, but this song right here is better than anything Bruce Springsteen ever did. Brilliant song! I always much preferred Cafferty's music.
I love this song. Eddie and the Cruisers were so underrated. They take me back to better times.
I hear you. Ya ain’t alone ya know.

"How many times do I have to tell you,it's the music that counts, not the hype." Iconic!
"I Want To Be Remembered For My Music, Or Not At All" ~ Eddie Wilson

working on a pier in Myrtle Beach for 10 yrs now but originally being a Yankee from Ct. (right ourside NYC) I especially love this one.
Michael Paré is HOT..... and with Cafferty's voice.... GREAT ...... Love Eddie and the Cruisers.
Just 1 great voice and a simple melody,to me there's nothin more "moving" then that.
Hard to believe these songs were lip syncinted (?)!
This is indeed my favorite scene. I love the pure playful camaraderie of the bandmates.
man my wife loves listening to this song and she wants to visit NY someday
You're a lucky man Allan. Quite often I wish I had a wife.

This song reminds me of times that were good
Love this song.
I said hey little girl
Take me by the hand
Walk with me down this Boardwalk
One last time again
We'll see those pretty pier lights
Hear those Carnival sounds
We'll stop right at the top tonight
When the Ferris wheel goes round
Well I sing for these tourists
'Bout a dream life on the water
But when the dream it gets broken
This life gets harder and harder
Leave this candy apple town behind
get out while I still can
I'm goin' to New York City
With this guitar in my hand
I've been wishin' on these stars too long
Playin' in these bars too long
I've been hold up in your arms too long
I've been a prisoner of my heart too long
I'm goin' to New York City
Gotta find out where I stand
And I'll be walking down Broadway
With this guitar in my hand
Eddie Lives!
