I love it. You can see in shell stats that 1 shell penetrates more and does more damage. You take the inferior solid shot type in the 1st spot anyway, so you start every game with dogmud ammo loaded. You also carry more ammo increasing your chance of death. Why even bother? Just carry only the better ammo. You can see how it performs in protection analysis.
@phoenixwins Generally, things are way more interesting, regarding ammo, if you try playing Air RB. If you have any questions about anything in the 0-6.3 BR range, feel free to ask. I play props 99% of the time regarding jets I'm doing OK in F80, F86 and Sea Meteor, but that's it. If you try to play Soviets, APBC shells have INSANE angled penetration usually, so f.e. when researching 85mm ammo, the K shell is useless while APBC can do some insane stuff, even if other shell has a bit higher vetical penetration. Remember you can 1-shot open topped vehicles by hitting them with HE anywhere. HEAT can also overpressure, especially 105mm and above is good at that. US tanks are awesome, even if their guns usually have a bit lower penetration compared to Germans, you get BIG explosive filler and generally good mobility, turret traverse, great gun depression. Oh and final tip - if you are playing a low velocity big HE lobber, like f.e. Italian lancia truck with 100mm cannon, if you park behind very small hill, you can kill people all day aiming via binoculars while they can't see you or shoot you back. Works on some maps and not sll the time. But when it does, it's hilarious.
The problem with realistic is the anticheat is lacking, even if there is one there is still constant matches with people who have perfect aim from across 1.5 kilometres and can spot you instantly. The problem with arcade is it has NO ANTICHEAT ENABLED, so it always has a lot of cheaters in it, but then those cheaters are rather bad compared to those in realistic because they dont tryhard as much. This is why you'll always get more in arcade if you aren't playing after a banwave.
It's called bino's and map knowledge. If you play RB enough you can guess the distance quickly, having high velocity shells helps of course. Second thing is if you press the rangefinder or spotting button your commander (if alive) will shout the distance of the tank
@@Jackty89 "map knowledge" i am okay with, but if a guy with a russian/chinese username suddenly starts shooting from 1.5km at the start of the match I am not trusting that.
