I often take a lot of inspiration from photographs I see on Facebook and tis fly caught my eye a few weeks ago. It was tied by John Tyzack and is basically a combination of a Jingler and a Klinkhammer. It just screamed fish catcher to me and I have whittled up a dozen for my own boxes.
I did not have the exact ingredients that John did list but have made do with what I had. Really looking forward to giving these a go. Let me know what flies you will be attacking the river with come the 1st of April?
That looks really good Lindsay, I'm definitely going to try a few of them. I'll remember to trim my posts , Cheers !!
ATB Chris.
I think they will go down a treat pal.
I love the look of the partridge hackle. I never thought to do that. It may not float as well as stiff hackle but it's looks great and should be good for emergers.
It floats well enough when treated with floatant 👍
@@lindsayiflyfish The addition of the CDC helps floatation too...a great pattern
Nice clean fly, thanks Lindsay, beautifully done.
Thank you kindly Lee.
Lucky I live up the road from mr Tyzack , nice tying Lindsay
Iv mine in the box
Locked and loaded .
I think it could do rather well pal.
Wooow ... lovely pattern, Lindasy. It has the appearance of being tremendously effective. I love these kinds of dry fly patterns. I include it in my box. Thank you very much ... and take good care of yourself.
Glad you like it Jorge👍
Nice looking fly Lindsay. Many thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great one.Tanks Lindsay 👍
You’re welcome 😊
Hi Lindsay- The Jingle Hammer name is perfect. Here Massachusetts I like small weighted nymphs (#16, #18 & #20) for early April. The water will still be cold and usually the trout will hold in deeper pools.
I love fishing the smaller nymphs early on. My club does not allow nymphs on many of its waters until after the 1st of July though.
Hi Lindsay
Great looking fly, just though I would mention a tip I picked up regarding the CDC feather.I use a small block of foam with a slit cut along its length. You can then hold each end of the feather and pull it down into the slit trapping it ready to then grip it with the clip. Then just cut off the waste stalk and your ready to place into the dubbing loop.
It’s a great tip Robert, I think I showed it in an earlier video. Just didn’t have it to hand the day I made the video.
Love it. Will be a great addition. Thx Lindsay. 🙂
It certainly caught my eye buddy, my box is suitably filled 😉
Great pattern! Always room for one more parachute! Thanks for sharing! Hope you are feeling better!
Not so good at present pal, but will hear with time no doubt.
Hi Lindsay, great pattern will have to give this a go, should be deadly in a March Brown hatch. Cheers Jimf
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Lindsay, nice concept. Would you just ghink the post?
Post and wing Peter.
Hi
Nice fly,, how long will the rib stay there?? Dont look strong to me.
Not sure, but as you seen in the video I do give it a healthy smear with super glue before application. Will certainly last a few fish.
hi lindsay have you ever done the hackle para loop style for this type of fly
Hi John, I haven't but it sounds like an idea.
well done!
Cheers pal 👍
Hi Lindsay, any reason you can't use partridge for the tail rather than Coq De Leon? Cheers
It’s a little thicker but I don’t see why not.
@@lindsayiflyfish similar colours and I’m a cheapskate! 😂
I tied something similar to this in green.
Was it effective Daniel?
It was, the few rainbows I caught with it seemed to really go for it. It acted almost like a water strider, or a spider skating across the water. I used a grizzly hackle Instead of the cdc and a guinea fowl feather dyed green.
Very nice thanks for it sir
Most welcome
Would dark brown flexi floss not be better for the rib?
No, too heavy for the fly coupled with the heavier hook it would not float.
@@lindsayiflyfish Sound as, thanks
