Damn, I'm glad I clicked this. Really underrated channel you have here, I think your production quality is great, just wanted to give you that compliment because I think you deserve it.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the support 🙂
Heck yes!!! Welcome back bro!!
Glad to be back brother!
Great video! Watching this from my 11” M1 Pro. My iPad is great and already does the work it needs to. It’s still overkill for a tablet. Not planning to switch it anytime soon.
Thank you, finally found a video doing a direct comparison to the M1, which is what I have. Unless iOS 18 brings out incredible new features for the new iPad Pro, I’m sticking with my M1.
I think that’s what we’re all waiting for! I’m hoping for SOMETHING significant in terms of iPadOS features at WWDC.
Great 👍 video. I’ve subscribed.
Thanks for the sub! I really appreciate it! 😬
@@JustJoshuaJoel No problem 😉
I need them all, dude.
To be honest, Ipad M1 pro is more than enough and already very powerful. The miniLED screen is already beautiful..
There is no need to burn unecessary cash to have the latest shiny devices when we cannot utilize so much power and its apps.
I will always prever macbook pro M2 for PRO LEVEL video editing in FCP , audio editing in logic pro .
I will prefer ipad for handwritten notes - notability , goodnotes , notes app and procreate for art works, games and netfix etc.
11 inch m1 was lcd, that screen was bad for a pro device.
I agree, if you're happy with your M1 iPad Pro there isn't much reason to upgrade. ESPECIALLY if you're not going to use it for video editing, illustration work, or high-end photo editing. Apple did too good of a job with the M1 chip and the newer generations of Apple silicon are an improvement but nothing revolutionary.
@@Hiimbald12 I'd disagree with that statement. LCDs aren't necessarily bad for Pro work especially considering the majority of screens are still using LCD technology. As long as they're properly calibrated LCD screens are great for professional color grading and similar work.
I moved from the same device to m4 13 and for me no difference in performance and screen quality in normal use. My battery in m1 was at 85% SO close to replacement bad now i have new batttery and 80% max charging option. This is the only difference i feel
I agree with you! In normal everyday use you're not going to see a huge difference. I was also starting to notice battery degradation on my M1 iPad so that also helped with my upgrade decision.
I’m curious what to you would be updates that would make the iPad Pro m5/m6 worth sn upgrade from m1 if screen, performance, lightness, better keyboard, better pen aren’t worth it. Then what is?
The iPads don’t need better hardware. They’re already more powerful than you’d ever notice because the software limits what they can do. They need better software that would allow them to actually take advantage of all their powerful hardware.
ipad pro 2 is officially discontinued by apple and all vendors too. If we buy old ones, does Apple 90 days, one year warranty applies?
Also is it possible to buy an AppleCare for the old versions?
Don’t buy old versions. If you have an iPad that’s older than the M1 iPad Pros then it’s worth upgrading to the M4. If you don’t have an iPad at all and you’re looking to get one, get the M4.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it the 11" Ipad Pro model doesn't come with a mini-LED display. Should've compared the 12" M1 and 13" M4
You’re correct, it doesn’t have a mini-LED screen. I say that at the beginning of the video 🤦🏻♂️
Ipad pro 2024 keyboard works on the
M1 pro 2020?
No, the magnets are laid out differently.
To be honest I have seen so many you tube reviewers stating you don’t need the 2024 I pad pro but everyone one of them are keeping the 2024 I pad. Reminds me so much of a fell walker called Wainright- he used to say wonderful walks but please dont come to these fells as you will cause erosion issues. So it’s alright for the reviewer to have the experience but warns the average Joe to avoid. I believe give your review but don’t say it’s too expensive to upgrade etc that’s for the customer to decide.
To be fair, I do say at the end that it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth the upgrade for you.
Good point.. funny isn’t it..
It’s like “don’t waste your money get the older iPad” yet they upgrade to M4 😂🤷🏽♂️
Definitely never said get the older iPad
Some people go through life seeking to get everything that they NEED.
Others seek everything that they WANT
I’m “OTHER”
Coming from 9th gen the M4 is def the way to go, no point in getting an older model just to “save money”. 256gb base plus display is clearly worth it. Thanks !
Oh yea, if you’re coming from an older model prior to the M1 it’s absolutely worth getting the M4. Then you’ll DEFINITELY notice the difference.
Haha! Super popular in the mobile gaming world
The screen is a huge difference if you didn’t have the mini led 12.9 from last gen. The 11 inch without the mini led compared to the new oled is night and day. The m4 is definitely worth it. Trust me. Not only for the oled but if you were on m1 which I was and I’m still keeping my m1 bc it’s still nice, there is no compromises in high end games where the m1 you always had to make compromises. And games aren’t even optimized for it yet. Guaranteed worth it. And speaking of resident evil you can tweek the files and the m4 runs in the 70fps range while the m1 is in the 20s most the time. Night and day I promise you
I wouldn’t say it’s a night and day difference but it’s definitely noticeable. If you’re an avid gamer then it might be worth the upgrade for you. But if you only game on your iPad occasionally I wouldn’t recommend the upgrade.
@@JustJoshuaJoel I dunno man I don’t play games too often on my iPad but just knowing I have the best even tho I’m keeping my m1 bc yes it’s still really nice makes me happy. And the even compared to my 11 inch m1 is so much better. The brightness alone is a great upgrade. And the last point I’ll make is the m4 is future proofed on basically everything including any games that come out for years to come. I would say at least 5 years the m4 is going to be the last iPad I’ll need to buy easily. You can’t say that about the m1 for sure. It definitely won’t be future proofed for much longer.

Why not m4 vs M2 instead
I don’t own the M2 iPad Pro lol
I use the M1 as a teacher. I honestly, don't see the value in upgrading. It is way more powerful than I need. Really don't think it's worth upgrading. Not a sizable difference. I think that unless it's going to make a genuine difference in your workflow then its kinda pointless. I think if you don't have an ipad and want something more future proof then the m4 might have some value, but even then...not much
Yea, as of right now the M1 iPad will do pretty much everything the M4 iPad can do. Unless we get a drastic change announced at this year’s WWDC I don’t expect that to change anytime soon.
What do the finger condoms do?
😂 took longer than expected for someone to mention my finger socks. They’re meant for gaming on touchscreens. They remove friction and prevent smudging up your phone or tablet screen.
What manga is that
Kagurabachi. HIGHLY recommended.
The iPad Pro m1 has a mini led screen
The 11 inch version does not
One thing people and TH-camrs need to realize is that, when displaying complete black, both the OLED and the Mini LED will display no light, meaning the pixels on the OLED and the Zones on the Mini LED are completely off. They will both have the same level of “blackness”, as long as the anti-glare coatings are similar. However, when it comes to more complex scenes when there are different shades of brightness, the Mini LED will have less contrast, because many of these scenes will overlap onto the Mini LED’s zones, therefore, will cause blooming or raised black levels on certain parts of the image. With OLED, you get pixel-level control of the amount of brightness and will not have blooming issues, therefore, having greater contrast.
These are the 11 Inch iPad Pros. They NEVER HAD a mini LED screen.
