😂 I got the 11inch, returned for the 13inch, returned that one for the 11inch again, and now I’m kind of regretting it. I think I need 13inch, but 11inch is just perfect for portability. I have until next week to decide.
While I will always have screen envy and be enticed by the 13", the 11" is definitely the one to get. The 13" is just too massive if you plan to take your iPad anywhere. The 13" is amazing if you primarily use it in a desk setup and don't transport it. But then, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of an iPad? iPad is supposed to be a convenient tool when you don't feel like taking a laptop with you, right? In that case, it's the 11"hands down. What I've discovered is that if you need something bigger than an 11" on the go, then just bring a laptop which is an ACTUAL computer and you will get more usefulness out of it anyway. Don't get caught up in the screen envy. Do yourself a favor and save the hassle of having to return the 13" (which is what happened to me) and just get the 11" and don't ever look at a 13" so you won't be jealous 😁
Yeah it sounds like you definitely made the right choice going with the 11” iPad! Thanks for sharing your experiences with the 13” as well. That is very helpful! I agree that the smaller size is much easier to take on the go!
Well actually iPad size is much closer to macbook… there is only little difference in size between MacBook and iPad but there is huge difference between iPhone and even iPad Mini is a huge jump in size in iPhone Pro max due to aspect ratio alone… so portability wise its like a macbook screen without keyboard your bringing in public.. and lastly iPad is often used in landscape..
Yeah I think a 16:9 aspect ratio would be awesome for a lot of things! I do like some things about the 4:3 aspect ratio, but for viewing content especially, it is a little annoying
@@Graf-XTechReviewsSo true… 12.9 inch of iPad when watching 16:9 movies is only equivalent to 12 inch 16:9 laptop…. I also hate watching movies on iPhone 15 Pro Max (6.7”) its even worse watching 16:9 on it its equivalent to 5.5” display of old iPhone 8 Plus lol huge black bars on side..
I got the 13” first with ESR case from Amazon. It felt heavy on my hand after few minutes of using it. So, I decided for 11” and I just loved it. It’s also easier to hold with both hands while typing.
Yeah that’s great that you could tell right away that the larger size wasn’t the right fit for you! Thanks for sharing and I’m glad you are enjoying the 11”! I am as well!
1st iPad. Started with the 13”. Didn’t like the “portability”. Returned it for the 11”. Happy ever since. When I would rather grab my iPhone than my iPad, I knew there might be a problem.
I could say this is the only video of this type to go through "REAL LIFE" scenarios and not just the "video editing" scenarios. Great video ! Thank you
Oh man, finally someone that actually compare both of them with actual use cases and with benchmarks!! Thanks a lot, this was just was I was looking for!! Hands down the best technical comparisson I've found in the entire youtube platform!!
Awesome! Spread the word! That’s my goal and I hope to do that good of quality with everything I review. Let me know if there’s anything else you’re looking to see on the channel!
I bought a 11 inch last week, and always consider if I should get a 13 inch instead. After watching your video now I'm sure I've made the right decision, I just need a portable tablet instead of a laptop. Very informative video, I think you just answered a question that many people have, keep up and your channel will be successful!
Thank you! I’m glad I was able to help you confirm your decision! I appreciate the feedback! Let me know if there is ever anything specific you’d like me to review/test!
Awesome overview! I had been using the 12.9" iPads Pro since 2016 basically as my MacBook, until the 14" M1 Pro. I ordered the 13" M4 on day one, but ended up returning it yesterday for a 1TB 11". Thanks to your videos I went out and got an 11" to compare for myself. It provides everything I wanted in a much more manageable size and I intend to keep it for 3-4yrs, so 1TB makes a bit of sense. Also takes me back to my 11" MacBook Air days, even though the bezels on that thing made it the size of what a 13" device is now lol. I just saw no fair reason to have a $2K 13" hybrid tablet competing against my 14" Macook pro of nearly the same size/weight. The 11" fits in a lot more scenarios, your restaurant shot captures that perfectly! I had my 11" on my lap in my car while I ate lunch earlier. It felt ergonomically perfect. Much better than sitting on my phone and I used to bring my 12.9" with me to lunch all the time but it was always a burden to get it out in the car for a quick sit.
Yeah I totally get that! I’m glad that I was able to help you make that decision. For me, I love being able to take it even more places and that’s definitely what makes it worth it! Thanks for sharing! Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to test or compare!
I traded my 12.9 iPad Pro for the 2024 11-inch iPad Pro because of the size and weight. The 12.9-inch with a Magic Keyboard was too heavy to travel with. The smaller size fits in my backpack leaving room for additional items.
Took my 11" M4 Pro on a trip in the car and remembered exactly why I got it instead of the 13" The 11" is a fantastic tablet. The 13" is an underpowered laptop lacking in critical software.
I’m an artist, and even I chose the 11” iPad Pro for the same reasons. Sure, the extra screen space of the 13” was very tempting, especially for drawing…but the 11” won for me because it is just much more holdable & portable like a true tablet should be. I’m a big guy with big hands, but the 13” was just too cumbersome to hold for longer periods of time. At the desk it’s fine, but the 11” beats it while mobile or relaxing on the couch or in bed. Many artists may disagree, and would be willing to put up with the bigger size while away from the desk, but not me. You really have to go down to the Apple store and see for yourself before buying. No matter which one you choose, you’ll be getting an amazing iPad for sure. 👍🏼
Absolutely! And yeah, I agree with the advantages of portability. Whenever I use the 13”, I usually am always using it at a desk because it’s not as comfortable any other way. So thanks for sharing!
Great video. I have similar thoughts. I have had the 12.9" model since 2018. I ordered the 11" M4 version and got it on launch day.... and I love it. But, after a few days, things just felt a bit cramped. Especially Final Cut and Photoshop. So I ordered the 13" and compared them both for a week or so (constantly switching back and forth). I do notice the weight reduction between the old 12.9" and the new 13". Ultimately, I kept the 13" and returned the 11". For me, when I am working with the Magic Keyboard, it's a viable laptop replacement. When in tablet mode, using the Apple Folio, I can edit photos in my lap ...on the couch, and still really see what I am doing better (without having to hold it closer to my face). It could be my aging eyes but the 13" is the best overall for me. I feel like a 12" iPad would be perfect for most people... and Apple knows that... so they give you options that will often have you considering whether or not you should switch up or down in screen size. It's kind of a brilliant move.
Yeah that makes sense. I have definitely felt the annoyance of going back and forth not sure which model to go for. I agree that the 13” definitely has more laptop-like capabilities, but for me the 11” stil does a good enough job with it. Thanks for sharing! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
This is one of the best iPad Pro reviews / insights.Thank you for making this video. I am going to take a chance and leave some extended comments, and hope that it is helpful for your channel's growth (or at least let you know what really worked for me) 1. Detailed user report-style comparisons that is sound, reasonable, balanced, and filled with common sense. 2. Personal choice (ie. why you went with the 11 inch iPad Pro) - backed by clear reasons again. The beauty of this approach is that I do not have to even agree with you. If I agree, then I am going 11 inch. And IF I Do Not, it almost automatically puts in me in the 13 inch camp. It is effective and brilliant. 3. I really like how your videos come across as sincere and focused on help people understand and choose. It is almost like you are talking to a friend. I love the delivery and sincerity. 4. Thank you for not putting efforts into highly polished videos like many of the bigger channels. Yes, i get there is value in the video production, but there is way more value in making a quality video that helps people (especially when it gathers the viewers feedback and comments) That's it. This is the best video on iPad Pro to me, and i found myself happy enough to make a purchase decision after watching your video. Thank you very much.
Thank you for all the feedback, it’s very helpful! Often times I’ll work on a video and not even be sure it will do well or I’ll think that I didn’t have have good information, but comments like these are amazing and very very helpful! I really appreciate that you pointed out the specific things that you found to be informative or just make the video worth watching. This will definitely help my channel! Thanks again!
Thanks for this. The only other thing it might be worth mentioning is the “more space” option in iOS settings on the Pro iPads, which enables the 11” to essentially display the same amount of information as the 13” (albeit a bit smaller)
@@Graf-XTechReviews I feel like that's something you should disclose in the video, since most users won't have that option enabled. It could give viewers the wrong expectations. Besides that I love your video, very informative!
Great video, I like that you show things like Final Cut Pro side by side and also adresses the options to alter the layout to make it work better on the smaller version and so forth.
Thank you! I saw a different video on how Final Cut Pro is on both those devices and they didn’t mention that at all so I made sure that I did! I’m glad that it helped!
13 inch is essential if you want to draw. Yes 11 inch you can draw on. Just as you can draw on a napkin. But you won’t. That’s my only advice I’d give to a very specific customer.
I’m glad that you are sharing your experiences with drawing on these sizes! Although, I will say that I still do enjoy drawing on the 11” and I don’t feel very limited by the size, but thanks for giving your opinion! I appreciate the honest feedback.
If you draw at a desk. I’ve always wanted to get the 13” but when I played with both in the store … the 11” kept winning out as I was drawing on it than the 13”. I’ll probably still get the 13” though as I’ll be using it as a laptop first, and drawing tablet second.
Great review! Subscribed. I carried the 12.9 for 2 years and this go around opted for the 11. I do a lot of multitasking and don't feel like it's a huge compromise. Love the form factor of the 11. Great for working in the 4 wheel office and the plane. Easier to use for note taking while standing. Happy with the choice to go 11. Best iPad so far and I've had a bunch including the first. Magic Keyboard is a winner too. Cheers! P.S.- Do a video on screen layout. Personally I'm all in on widgets and especially the shortcut cluster.
Yeah I have a similar experience with the 11 inch! I didn’t feel like it was a big compromise either with all the portability benefits that I gained. I will definitely get working on a screen layout video! What are your favorite shortcuts that you use? I’m always on the lookout for more useful shortcuts.
Why can't Apple just make one iPad that's a 12"??? That would be the perfect size and then we wouldn't have to constantly be in agony with the analysis paralysis of going back and forth between the 11 and 13?? The 11 is too small for some situations and the 13 is too big for some situations. But a 12" would be perfect for just about all situations. I had a 12" Surface Pro and I never once thought it was too big or too small. It was just right!
Why can’t they just give a better value and start their devices at 512 gigs. Because, it’s Apple. So annoying, but for people who aren’t fanboys it makes it hard to justify the purchase
I appreciate this video however sometimes for some people who need more text on screen because of compromising sight issues the bigger one is more productive in that situation, I have found this out the hard way.
Yes having more to fit on the screen is very helpful! Thank you for your input and I definitely agree for those who need that most of all, they should definitely go with the 13”!
Thanks for your honest review. I had ordered the 13in and cancelled it and got the 11 inch instead. This video made a lot of sense, since I mainly use my iPad to watch movies while I am on the road. Thanks again.
Yeah for things like sitting on the couch or just using it more like a tablet, I definitely prefer the 11 inch for those things. It doesn’t mean you can’t do them with the 13 inch, but the 11 inch is better in those scenarios
Pro tip: raise the display zoom to More Space in settings and you’ll get the same resolution essentially as the 12.9, allowing you to fit all the same things in the smaller display area.
Great video. Do you find that the 13” is portable now then previous models because of the less weight? I’ve always used a 11”, but the thinness and again the weight makes me think I can use the larger one to watch my videos and movies which I do since I travel a lot. I realized the aspect ratio favored the 11” for movies, but I also watch a LOT of TH-cam videos, and I feel like the 4:3 favors that. Also, when I’m watching on a plane, restaurant, and especially in my hotel, I won’t uses the magic Keyboard, but rather remove it and have a case that can fold into multiple positions. Since it’s just taller then the 11” and a just a bit wider, I don’t think I’ll have trouble on airplanes when I’d just be using a folio type case. Thoughts? The irony is that I’ve always had 11” iPads, but I refused to upgrade it from 2020 because the started giving the 13” the better display 😡. So, I figured it’d be a no brainer, until I saw and felt how much larger the 13” is now. I’m so on the fence it’s killing me 😖. Thanks again for such a thorough video.
I would say the thinner and lighter design does make it more portable, but at the same time, it is still the same footprint as the previous version and it’s the footprint that usually makes it harder for me to take certain places. I think you could still do a lot of portable things with the 13” but I do feel it is still more limiting than the 11”
Can you test the battery life with the Magic Keyboard I had a m1 iPad Pro 12.9 with MK and when I would play Apple Music to the fullest volume my battery would drop slightly more than the 11 inch .
Yeah if the new OLED screen is the only thing that you want to upgrade for I’d say probably not. Unless you are using it for movies and content that is taking advantage of that fully and you are willing to spend the extra money. So the short answer is probably not.
Awesome! The goal is definitely to be very helpful! I hope to grow that much as well! Thanks for your comment! Definitely let me know if you have any critiques or things you’d like to see on the channel!
I had an IPad Pro 11 inch gen 2 and while I was tempted when the I got mine on release date,I stuck with the 11 inch size 512 gb with Magic Keyboard and the Pencil Pro,the 11 inch is the sweet spot for me,now I can’t wait until a screen saver is released, I agree with you about the screen being the same as the 13 inch (with size being the exception and that also was a deciding factor, wonder how many would choose the 13 inch over the 11 inch if Apple only charged fifty dollars more for the bigger iPad Pro
Yeah I would like a screen saver as well! And I don’t really get why they made the 13” $300 more than the 11”. $100 would be fine, even $200 would be ok, but $300 is kinda nuts
Compare to the M2 version, 11 inch M4 version reduces 466-444=22g,13 inch M4 version reduces 682-579=103g. 13 inch made a huge improvement on weight and have bigger screen bigger battery. Bigger battery means longer standby time. So I think 13 inch is a better upgrade this time.
Yes I completely agree that on weight and thinness, the 13” is the bigger improvement. However, the battery actually got smaller on this model than the previous version. I haven’t directly compared their standby time performance but I know some tests have shown the 11” to have better battery life for screen on time. Also, the 11” used to have an LCD screen now it jumps all the way to OLED. Where on the 13”, the Mini-LED wasn’t too far behind OLED. So I agree that the physical weight and dimensions part of the upgrade is better on the 13”, but overall, I think the 11” actually had more upgraded this year.
I think the 13 inch takes better advantage of exclusive ipad layout compared to an iphone. And this kind of ratio is better for productivity/browsing the web, etc. It loses for movies but after haveing seen both in perso I felt like I would have been frustrated with the 11, which would have felt like a larger iphone. 13 is just a tiny bit too large but I prefer this. A size in between would have been perfect.
Yeah I would’ve liked a size in between. Thanks for sharing! That’s a great perspective and I’m glad you’re happy with the 13”! And I get what you’re saying with the aspect ratio, depending on your use case, it could be really good!
Which generation 11 inch do you have? Also, even though there were a couple tests that it looked like the M4 11 inch was behind in performance, it was barely anything so I don’t think you’re really gonna get much more out of the 13 inch, unless you’re just wanting the larger size.
@@Graf-XTechReviews Thank you! I have the M2 11 rn, but I've noticed that when screen sharing games in Stage Manager it lags a little bit, bit its noticeable, that's why I wanted to try the m4!
@@Graf-XTechReviews awesome thanks for the insight! If you're going to try to replicate it, just play any demanding game in a monitor on Stage Manager, mostly happens when I just leave another app like TH-cam open on the iPad screen !
I've watched a lot of videos about size difference, all of them say the same useless shit, but this video really help me picking the right size for me, tks nice video
I brought the ipad pro m4 11inch size weight everything. I had samsung ultra didnt like it because big and heavy to hold. Also my point is what you use it for. I use to shop watch you tube so perfect for 11inch can walk around and travel.
I would get the 11”. You get a more portable size that I think it better for notes and especially if you want to do hand held gaming, it is much better for that
Personal opinion: 11 inch is already great for digital art. I mean unless your drawing stroke is friggin long, 11 inch is more than sufficient. I would be more concerned of the lack of paperlike film in the market for iPad M4 right now(at least in my country). Again just my opinion tho.😂
Did you notice a difference in brightness? I tried both & noticed the 13” was noticeably brighter. The 11” was even dimmer than my iPhone 13 Mini, which was pretty disappointing.
They seem to reach the same brightness levels to me. For me the only slight difference comes from the 11” being a nano-texture, but it definitely gets very bright. At least mine does. Not sure why yours wasn’t getting that bright. Sorry, wish I could help more, but I’m not really sure!
@@Graf-XTechReviews No worries. I appreciate the reply. After looking at a few display modes, I think it’s just down to panel lottery with some screens being brighter than others. I ordered another iPad 11”. Hopefully I have better luck with this one.
Love the video!!! Thoughts on cellular vs non cellular? I’ve always had the cellular version but notice that when I have my MacBook out tethering is not an issue at all. Would performance be any different? Thank you
I honestly don’t have a lot of experience with the cellular version. I’ve actually never really gotten that version. I can see some benefits but I didn’t see enough to pay for data for it. From what I know performance wouldn’t be different, but unfortunately I don’t have one here to test. I’m glad you enjoyed the video as well!
Hi I have a big doubt regarding which screen size should I buy the 11 or 13 I'm a photographer and cinematographer...my use for the iPad would be very broad, such as using apps to control lights in the studio, using the iPad as a monitor for the drone...as well as answering emails and drawing light maps... I've already been to the Apple store to see the 2 models in person and I still haven't decided. This decision is really difficult. What would be your opinion?
My gut reaction is the 11 inch. I don’t think you do many things that would really feel cramped on the 11” and you’d get more flexibility when carrying it around and it’ll just take up less space. It’s definitely not a super easy choice, but that’s my opinion.
I always think the portability of the 11” is best for students but if studying and research is your main priority, then I can see the benefits of the 13”. Personally though, I’d probably just do the 11” unless you think you’re gonna want a lot of apps open at once
Which size iPad, outside of the black bars on a movie with the example you mentioned, would look best in a full screen youtube video or music video, let’s say in 4K? Thanks in advance, and love the content.
Most TH-cam videos and things like it are shot in 16:9 aspect ratios. (This is not all of them, but most of them). So for that size the 11” does look more full screen with those as well. It isn’t as noticeable as with the widescreen movies, but it is still the case. Hope that helps!
Superb comparison - thank you. Older eyes and those seeking double screen real estate with a Mac may prefer the 13. The more portability and on the move use then probably the 11…. Keep up the great content.
Yeah that’s totally up to you. With owning the 16”, even the 13” will seem much smaller and lighter so I think either one will feel very portable, but the 11” might be a good counterpart to the big laptop, but that’s just my opinion
What’s your primary use case? That might help me recommend the size. But yeah it is definitely a tough choice. I would recommend checking out my 3 week review of the 11”, that might help with the decision
Personally, I’m feeling 11” with what you use. I feel it’s a bit easier to take around and use for notes and it’s more hand-held friendly for reading books. And as far as consuming content, you don’t gain a whole lot more screen space with the 13” for really any modern show or movie. That’s my best recommendation I can give.
Never owned an iPad but am looking at the Pro. I still do not understand if I can use the Thunderbolt port with a USB-C thumb drive to copy photos back and forth.
Yes you can transfer any kind of files with a thumb drive or any kind of external SSD. The file manager isn’t super amazing on iPad, but it can certainly get the job done
@@Graf-XTechReviews Thank you! This iPad Pro is way overkill for me but I want one anyway, 😄 I have never understood the thunderbolt/usb-c compatibility issues and if thunderbolt on the iPad would work for downloads and uploads. Now I know they will, thanks again. Excellent evaluation by the way, one of the best I have seen. I have subscribed.
Hi, I am still confused which one to buy. My usecase is entertainment and attend video lectures (for development) and maybe for note taking. I already own a (brand new) gaming laptop (16") which is a tank so it is more of a desktop rather than a device to keep on lap. I am anyways going to buy it on EMI + edu discount. I love big screens , but initially settled for 11" but all the reddit posts created a FOMO of loosing out the extra 2" on it . But if I buy 13", I fear I won't use my personal laptop anymore. Which one do you suggest?
Personally I think the 11” sounds great for that use case! That would be my suggestion especially since you already have a laptop, but obviously I don’t know how much a bigger screen is worth to you.
@@Graf-XTechReviews It is like if the price difference was just $100-150 , it would be a no brainer for me and would have directly went for 13" . But since it's a woping $300 diff. I have to think twice . I am really fond of big displays and prefer more to keep my eye sight stable but since both are anyways going to be bigger than my phone I think that would be fine.
@@Graf-XTechReviews I had time till next month, but currently fixed for 11" as at the store the 13" was a bit wobbly and was awkward to hold in my hands even though its screen was better. Now the only thing which can shift my decision if someone can confirm the reported grain issue of 11" more than 13"😅.
Well, I know this isn’t making your choice easier, but I have both the 11” and the 13” and at least on my versions, neither one looks grainier than the other
Has anyone measured the active screen size of both devices when content is playing? Like what’s the diagonal size of the screen when a movie (in Netflix or whatever) window without black bars on each?
@@Graf-XTechReviews I do actually, I used my 12.9 for reading and social media including TH-cam. All of it is good at home, though my only gripe is taking it on the go, it’s too big. But for awhile I used my Mini for reading, social media, TH-cam, and streaming both at home and on the go, before I got the 12.9. I’m hoping to do the same for 11 inch IPad Pro as I plan to get the cellular plan for the pro like my IPad Mini did.
I actually returned my 13 inch for an 11 inch before watching this. I've had scenarios where I've had to pull over on the side of the road for urgent business only to find my laptops cumbersome and clunky. 13 inch it's good if you don't have a laptop, but 11 inch feels better to me for portability.
Gotcha. Yeah I don’t believe that is an option on iOS and iPadOS. I would love that to be a feature. The closest thing (which I know isn’t what you’re looking for) is setting an 80% limit which helps persevere the battery
It depends. Some tests show the 11” lasting longer in more everyday tasks. But the 13” is a little better at getting rid of heat so for some tasks it lasts longer. But both are very very close
Any idea if I buy 256 gb or 512gb is there a difference in internal SSD speed?? Also, I am torn on size, I want to use primarily for media, browsing and Microsoft office apps (outlook, word, excel and PPT). Never owned iPad. What is your recommendation? Any idea on how Microsoft office suit works on iPad?
As far as I know, there is no internal SSD speed difference between those storage options. But I don’t personally have each device so I can’t test that myself. For your use case, either size will be good in my opinion. So I would just decide based on if you really just want more on your screen at once or a more compact and portable device. Hope that helps!
Oh gotcha, I find that all the Microsoft apps work well, but the mobile versions have some limitations so I find myself sometimes using the web version which is the same as on the desktop
I know you say the sizes aren't hugely different, but I slightly disagree. I say slightly because I understand the point you're making. I personally feel the differences in sizes are pretty significant. It probably doesn't matter too much when it comes to movies. But the keyboard size could for sure make a difference long term on a persons hand health (arthritis). I might be fine with the small keyboard for a while, but it could become too much of a strain after while where I might eventually end up no longer using it. And having the larger trackpad on the 13 inch is definitely going to make a difference for some (i.e. me). Perhaps not all. I went with the 13 inch but I must admit there were times where I wondered if I shouldn't just save the money and get an 11 inch. I mean, I'd still be able to see what's going on on the screen obviously. Ultimately, it's the notes app that convinces me to keep the 13 inch. When the iPad Pro is in landscape mode with the menu popped out in apple notes there's plenty of room to comfortably write. With the 11inch model I would need to close the menu to write comfortably, and that would get annoying constantly having to open and close the menu just to be able to write in landscape. I see your point about the portable size of the 11 inch iPad Pro. It might be beneficial to eventually have both sizes for different things.
Yeah that makes sense! I have since sold my 13”, and I will tell you the bigger keyboard and trackpad have been missed! I still love the portability of my 11” which is why if I had to choose between them, I’d still choose the 11”, but it’s a hard choice. I’d still advocate for Apple to make a 12” tablet that has a closer to 16:9 aspect ratio so it could be more portable but have a full sized keyboard
Greetings from Australia and keep up the great work mate. This is exactly the video I needed to see. I had the 13inch and after watching this I retuned it today and got the 11inch. So glad I did. I have a background in broadcast and having the 13inch displaying in 4:3 drove me nuts lol. 16:9 content on the 11inch is so much better and when you zoom in everything is still in title safe. Larger model just chops everything off. Also I worried the speakers won’t sound great on the 11inch and I was very wrong. Not as loud but still have that amazing punchy sound for the size.
That’s awesome! I’m glad that you found the video helpful and I’m glad you’re loving the 11 inch! Thanks for letting me know! Yeah for a lot of things I think the 11” aspect ratio is nicer.
I have a 4th gen (A12Z Bionic) IPad Pro and it’s definitely too big sometimes. I thought I wanted to add an iPad Mini but I’m really looking at going to an 11”… maybe even an M2 Air if we’re being honest.
Yeah that makes sense. I once tried the iPad mini and larger iPad, but personally, there were so many times where I felt that one or the other was not getting used and they just clashed too much. I like the 11” because it has almost all the portability of the mini but all the power of the larger models! And if you don’t need to features of the pros, I think you’ll love the Air as well!
Great comparison but the 13” is still my jam. I’ve been getting that since Apple introduced that size model. It just feels more like a laptop to me. And I love using it for watching media too. It completely replaced my laptop, especially for the things I usually do when I’m on the internet. I bought the Apple Pencil too for my iPad, I very rarely ever use it as well.
That’s great I’m glad it works well for you! My goal is to never make a certain size option seem worse than others, but just to share my experiences and opinions on it, I’m glad you enjoyed the video and I’m glad you enjoy that size!
Well I’ve actually edited more videos on my 11” iPad Pro, but that’s also because I value its portability above pretty much everything else. So if the main thing you use your iPad Pro for is editing videos, and you don’t tend to need the portability as much, then I’d go for the larger size.
It’s not that the 11” isn’t ideal, it is more so that the space of the 13” while editing is nice to have especially if you’re mostly stationary, but I enjoy editing on the 11”!
If you want to use Magic Keyboard on a daily basis and have a laptop replacement then 13”. If you want to use it mainly as a tablet like for notes and reading then 11” is better in my opinion
Yeah that’s definitely pretty true, I think there can be other reasons for people to choose different sizes as well, but yes, there is a lot of truth to that!
I ve watched the whole internet, twice, and still cannot decide
Oh my. Even I haven’t seen the WHOLE internet. That’s impressive. Well I hope this video helped but it sounded like it didn’t very much!
@@Graf-XTechReviews No bro, your video was good. I simply meant that the choice is hard, by using an exaggeration in my effort to make a point.

@@Graf-XTechReviewsalso the bigger one is thinner than 11 inch ones Ive seen the bigger ones break more than the smaller ones
Same here: I returned the 13” and then got the 11”!
This is so accurate
I bought 11 inch because aspect ratio. That was my main reason. If Apple were selling a 16:9, I would buy it no matter what size.
Yeah I think a 16:9 aspect ratio would be awesome for a lot of things! I do like some things about the 4:3 aspect ratio, but for viewing content especially, it is a little annoying
4:3 is bad imo but 16:9 is crazy. The galaxy tab s9 ultra is 16:10 and it still looks way too long. 3:2 would be the best
@@e02_v41the 11 inch iPad Pro is 3:2
@@Graf-XTechReviewsSo true… 12.9 inch of iPad when watching 16:9 movies is only equivalent to 12 inch 16:9 laptop…. I also hate watching movies on iPhone 15 Pro Max (6.7”) its even worse watching 16:9 on it its equivalent to 5.5” display of old iPhone 8 Plus lol huge black bars on side..
thats why i went for the tab s9 ultra
I’m an artist, and I also agree that the 11” iPad Pro has always been the sweet spot for me size wise.
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing and giving your experiences!
Yeah that makes sense! I love my 11” as well! Thanks for sharing!
I could say this is the only video of this type to go through "REAL LIFE" scenarios and not just the "video editing" scenarios.
Great video ! Thank you
That’s great! I’m glad it offered some real helpful information! That is always my goal!
indeed.. in-depth review.. nice vid
Whoa, that aspect ratio thing is almost mentioned nowhere. Fascinating!
Thanks! I really try to have some actual interesting and meaningful information in these videos!
Exactly, this made it a no brainer for me to buy the 11in version. This is from someone coming from a 12.9 in 2021 iPad Pro. Excellent review!
I traded my 12.9 iPad Pro for the 2024 11-inch iPad Pro because of the size and weight. The 12.9-inch with a Magic Keyboard was too heavy to travel with. The smaller size fits in my backpack leaving room for additional items.
Yeah I like the smaller size for being easier to take and travel with as well!
Took my 11" M4 Pro on a trip in the car and remembered exactly why I got it instead of the 13"
The 11" is a fantastic tablet. The 13" is an underpowered laptop lacking in critical software.
Yeah I definitely think the 11” does a much better job as a tablet than the 13”. Thanks for sharing!
"underpowered" with the M4? 🤔
Software Limited @@kilik407
That was a very detailed and easy to understand review. Thank you.
That’s great! I’m glad it could help!
To the point and full of substance. Excellent review brother.
Great! I’m glad it was helpful!
One of the most compelling reviews, thanks 🙏 I’m erring on the 11” now.
That’s awesome! I am very glad you found it useful! Let me know if there is anything else you’d like to see tested!
I am going to take a chance and leave some extended comments, and hope that it is helpful for your channel's growth (or at least let you know what really worked for me)
Yes, i get there is value in the video production, but there is way more value in making a quality video that helps people (especially when it gathers the viewers feedback and comments)
That's it.
I actually had the “More Space” option on both of them during that video, but yes that is definitely something that they can do.
@@Graf-XTechReviews I feel like that's something you should disclose in the video, since most users won't have that option enabled. It could give viewers the wrong expectations.
Besides that I love your video, very informative!
The 11” for laying on the sofa, 13” for getting stuff done… and of course the gorgeous OLED screen for TH-cam consumption. 👌
Yeah for the most part, I agree, although I definitely get work done on my 11”! And the screens are gorgeous!
Wow! A much more useful approach than many others. Good review. Thanks!
Great! My goal is to always have useful info and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks. This is the best comparison of the two M4 models that I’ve seen and I’ve watched a TON. Good job. I’ve subscribed.

Great point re. aspect ratio! I've watched other videos comparing and they don't even mention this.
Thanks I’m glad there was something that set this video apart and something new you learned! That’s my goal!
id buy the 11. more portability and its not huge. just perfect.
Yeah it won with portability for me as well. Thanks for sharing!
Really good video! Thanks! :)
Of course! I’m thankful that it was enjoyable and informative for you!
Yeah that would a really interesting size to use! I would definitely try that if Apple made one!
So spot on!!
Why can’t they just give a better value and start their devices at 512 gigs. Because, it’s Apple. So annoying, but for people who aren’t fanboys it makes it hard to justify the purchase
because people wouldn't buy both 13 and 11
Very good and informative review

I appreciate this video however sometimes for some people who need more text on screen because of compromising sight issues the bigger one is more productive in that situation, I have found this out the hard way.
Yes having more to fit on the screen is very helpful! Thank you for your input and I definitely agree for those who need that most of all, they should definitely go with the 13”!
Thanks for your honest review. I had ordered the 13in and cancelled it and got the 11 inch instead. This video made a lot of sense, since I mainly use my iPad to watch movies while I am on the road. Thanks again.

One of best reviews
Thank you! I do my best!
Good point. What do you think is better for leisure? Just holding it in the hand I assume is annoying with the 13?
Yeah for things like sitting on the couch or just using it more like a tablet, I definitely prefer the 11 inch for those things. It doesn’t mean you can’t do them with the 13 inch, but the 11 inch is better in those scenarios
I wish they made 12 inch the best of both worlds lol
That would be pretty interesting for sure 😂
💯
This guy’s an iPad Kid! This was helpful. Thanks!
Yeah I might just be😂 I’m glad this helped you out!
Pro tip: raise the display zoom to More Space in settings and you’ll get the same resolution essentially as the 12.9, allowing you to fit all the same things in the smaller display area.
They are actually both on the “more space” setting in display zoom, but yes that is definitely something you can do
Great video.
I think you could still do a lot of portable things with the 13” but I do feel it is still more limiting than the 11”
@@Graf-XTechReviews Thank you for the reply. You got my sub.
Can you test the battery life with the Magic Keyboard I had a m1 iPad Pro 12.9 with MK and when I would play Apple Music to the fullest volume my battery would drop slightly more than the 11 inch .
Yeah, I’m working on a battery life test video, I don’t want to rush it out, because I want to make sure it’s a very informative video
Does the screen deserve to upgrade my device from iPad M2 to iPad M4 and screen size 11 inches?
no.
Thank you
Yeah if the new OLED screen is the only thing that you want to upgrade for I’d say probably not. Unless you are using it for movies and content that is taking advantage of that fully and you are willing to spend the extra money. So the short answer is probably not.

Most real world examples out of any video
That’s awesome! I’m glad you got some practical information from this video! That’s my goal!
Do you think its worth to exchange the previous 11 inch with LCD for the new 13? Mainly for gaming with topped up specs
Which generation 11 inch do you have? Also, even though there were a couple tests that it looked like the M4 11 inch was behind in performance, it was barely anything so I don’t think you’re really gonna get much more out of the 13 inch, unless you’re just wanting the larger size.

Is 11 inch ipad pro feels small in digital art and animation???pls reply I am confused 🤔🤔
Personal opinion: 11 inch is already great for digital art. I mean unless your drawing stroke is friggin long, 11 inch is more than sufficient. I would be more concerned of the lack of paperlike film in the market for iPad M4 right now(at least in my country). Again just my opinion tho.😂
For me no matter what ipad size you use, you're gonna zoom in and out any way lol. so I went ot 11 for portability ;D
I don’t do a lot of digital art, but from the few things I do (mostly thumbnails), I can easily do all my work from my 11 inch
I have the same question: the canvas space will be smaller on 11” since the menu/ribbon will take up a lot of space.
Gotcha, let me know how that goes!
Thank you! This really helped me decide which size I need (11 Inch) :D
That’s great! I’m glad that it helped!

Hi
I have a big doubt regarding which screen size should I buy the 11 or 13
I'm a photographer and cinematographer...my use for the iPad would be very broad, such as using apps to control lights in the studio, using the iPad as a monitor for the drone...as well as answering emails and drawing light maps...
I want the ipad for notetaking only. What size is better?
Personally, I think the 11” is good for that! It’s still big enough to have a lot of notes on screen but it’s definitely more portable.
Which size ie better for a student ? (For studying)

I’m very glad I could help! Thanks for sharing!
Superb comparison - thank you. Older eyes and those seeking double screen real estate with a Mac may prefer the 13. The more portability and on the move use then probably the 11…. Keep up the great content.
Yes absolutely that’s a great way to put it! Thank you, I will keep it up!
I have a MacBook Pro m3 16” and i can’t decide if should go for the iPad 13” or 11” just love big screens 🥲
Yeah that’s totally up to you. With owning the 16”, even the 13” will seem much smaller and lighter so I think either one will feel very portable, but the 11” might be a good counterpart to the big laptop, but that’s just my opinion
I got the 11 inch and hesitating so hard if I should keep it or change it for a 13 haha. Awesome video still !
Hopefully I was able to help! But I understand, it’s hard to find the perfect size!
How is the magic keyboard on the 11 inch?
I enjoy it. I mean it’s definitely smaller than the 13” keyboard, but it’s not bad at all and I still find it very easy to use
Really hard to decide. Right now I have 11”, never had 13”. I want to upgrade for 2018 to this version
What’s your primary use case? That might help me recommend the size. But yeah it is definitely a tough choice. I would recommend checking out my 3 week review of the 11”, that might help with the decision
@@Graf-XTechReviews right now primarily writing notes on it. But, also, consuming a lot of content and reading books.
Thank you! I really appreciate the sub! I’m glad you found the video useful! And I’m glad I could clear that up for you!
Hi,
I am still confused which one to buy.
Yeah the $300 difference definitely makes it a harder choice for sure! Have you made your decision yet?
@@Graf-XTechReviews I had time till next month, but currently fixed for 11" as at the store the 13" was a bit wobbly and was awkward to hold in my hands even though its screen was better.
Now the only thing which can shift my decision if someone can confirm the reported grain issue of 11" more than 13"😅.
Well, I know this isn’t making your choice easier, but I have both the 11” and the 13” and at least on my versions, neither one looks grainier than the other
Thank you so much for this review. Simple, effective, straight forward. Made my mind up on the 11" 100% like, subscribe, good for you
That’s awesome! That is my goal with these reviews. I’m glad this could help you make your decision!
Thanks for the great review. You answered my question the first 2 mins of the video 👍🏻
That’s awesome! I’m glad it helped you!
Has anyone measured the active screen size of both devices when content is playing? Like what’s the diagonal size of the screen when a movie (in Netflix or whatever) window without black bars on each?
I’m sure some people have, but I’ll be sure to do it myself as well. I’ll do it as a short! That’s a great suggestion, thank you!
I'm getting the 11inch.😊
Awesome! Welcome to the club!
I have 12.9 IPad Pro M2, but I plan to get the 11 IPad Pro M4 to replace my IPad Mini
Yeah that could work as well! Do you find that you have enough uses for having both iPad around?
@@Graf-XTechReviews I do actually, I used my 12.9 for reading and social media including TH-cam. All of it is good at home, though my only gripe is taking it on the go, it’s too big. But for awhile I used my Mini for reading, social media, TH-cam, and streaming both at home and on the go, before I got the 12.9. I’m hoping to do the same for 11 inch IPad Pro as I plan to get the cellular plan for the pro like my IPad Mini did.
Gotcha that makes sense!
I actually returned my 13 inch for an 11 inch before watching this. I've had scenarios where I've had to pull over on the side of the road for urgent business only to find my laptops cumbersome and clunky. 13 inch it's good if you don't have a laptop, but 11 inch feels better to me for portability.
Yeah I love the 11 inch’s portability! I totally get that use case. Thanks for sharing!
What do you think of bypass chafing i can’t find it on iOS but it’s on android maybe you know more
I’m not too familiar with that feature. Could you describe the function of it in further detail? Otherwise I’m not too sure
@ it makes the device get power directly from the cable instead of the battery bypassing battery allowing it to not damage batter
Powered more like a console or PC less like a battery powered mobile device
Gotcha. Yeah I don’t believe that is an option on iOS and iPadOS. I would love that to be a feature. The closest thing (which I know isn’t what you’re looking for) is setting an 80% limit which helps persevere the battery
Which battery is better? Please reply
It depends. Some tests show the 11” lasting longer in more everyday tasks. But the 13” is a little better at getting rid of heat so for some tasks it lasts longer. But both are very very close
Thanks@@Graf-XTechReviews
Happy to help!
I appriciate your opinion. Thank you!
I’m glad it was helpful!!
@@Graf-XTechReviews thanks, only use one app at a time. Any experience on on Microsoft office applications on IPad like word, excel and outlook.
@@Graf-XTechReviews anyhow I found out that ProRes is not supported on 256 gb variant
Oh gotcha, I find that all the Microsoft apps work well, but the mobile versions have some limitations so I find myself sometimes using the web version which is the same as on the desktop
Hey nice video. Great elaborate review. Nice concluding comments also thanks.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I do my best to provide good info! Thanks for the feedback!
Nice Review ! 🎉
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Good content, bro 👊🏻
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it!
love your video. very helpful, thank you.
Thank you! I’m glad it helped!
My goal is to never make a certain size option seem worse than others, but just to share my experiences and opinions on it, I’m glad you enjoyed the video and I’m glad you enjoy that size!
which Ipad would you choose if you have to edit videos on FCP
Well I’ve actually edited more videos on my 11” iPad Pro, but that’s also because I value its portability above pretty much everything else. So if the main thing you use your iPad Pro for is editing videos, and you don’t tend to need the portability as much, then I’d go for the larger size.
@@Graf-XTechReviews is the 11 inch not ideal for video editing? I sold my MacBook Pro M1 and ordered the 11” iPad Pro M4.
It’s not that the 11” isn’t ideal, it is more so that the space of the 13” while editing is nice to have especially if you’re mostly stationary, but I enjoy editing on the 11”!
@@Graf-XTechReviews which app you use for editing on your iPad
I use Final Cut Pro for iPad at least currently! I like it because it was made for more iPad first editing
What is the aspect ratio of ipad pro 11 inch?
It’s roughly 10:7
Awesome, I will subscribe to this channel.
Great! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
If you want to use Magic Keyboard on a daily basis and have a laptop replacement then 13”. If you want to use it mainly as a tablet like for notes and reading then 11” is better in my opinion
Yeah that’s definitely pretty true, I think there can be other reasons for people to choose different sizes as well, but yes, there is a lot of truth to that!
best comparison video I have watched
Awesome! I’m glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
