Now in June 2021 I'm trying to build one close to this and prices have gone up. I was going to go with the non etorque 4 cly. My sticker was $46,500. They told me the TL discount was only $2,900. The base price is about $1,000 more now and many of the options are priced higher too. Also they phased out this silver color which I wanted. I guess they are changing it on the 2022 models. On the plus side the used Ram truck I'm trading in has increased in value by 4 k more than it was 6 months ago.
Even last year when dealers were hungry, I found a wide variation between each one’s willingness to do deep discount pricing. Have you checked on the Jeep forums about TL & which dealerships are offering the lowest ordered pricing? Again, last year there was one in the Southeast that was doing incredibly priced sales. I’m located out West so went with one in Las Vegas which was very close price-wise. A couple dealerships in Phoenix couldn’t/wouldn’t touch the price I got in Vegas. DO NOT work your deal in MSRP! Always talk Invoice with them. AFIK TL is still offering that 1% below invoice thing for ordered units. The trouble is finding a dealer who is willing to go with it. I can recommend the Sales Manager a try at Jim Marsh JC in Vegas (Antonio: amagana1987@gXXil.com). Tell him Van who ordered their very 1st 2021 last year sent you. The wife wanted AT and eTorque was required in 2021 with that, so I had no choice. Have grown to like it as it makes the Auto Engine Stop tolerable when on the road. Check out my latest video just posted yesterday. There’s a cameo of the Jeep at the beginning as it’s configured right now. Good luck with your purchase! Still LOVING mine 🙂
Except for the RV, my first AT and so far I’m lik’n it. Having 8 gears to NOT worry about when climbing is great. Then on descents can go manual with the paddle shifter to control the descent rate - is best of both worlds. Waited a long time before taking the plunge and wondering why now.
Congrats! Loving mine so far. Really like the 35’s & Jeep ok’s them for Rubicon’s unlifted. Nitto Ridge Grapplers are excellent off road & quiet on. 35’s should be ok on the stock wheels, but Icon’s allow them to spread a bit and no well rubbing whatsoever so far. To save some $$ on the upgrade, recommend you work a deal with your dealer BEFORE you take delivery since 35’s will be ok on the stock rims. Then you can do wheels of your choice later.
That lighter weight aluminum RH bumper is worth every penny and it looks even better in person. The 2 door’s eye watering turn radius comes in handy. Super glad I went with the Rubi. The front camera wasn’t available when I ordered mine and I foolishly “saved’ $500 by opting out of the touch door locks. Don’t how Toyota can include “magic” door locks for free and Jeep cannot? But otherwise, I wouldn’t change a thing. Hope you will enjoy yours as much as we do ours!
Thank you. Waiting for a build meant not having to accept $$$ upgrades that are unneeded for its primary purpose... that of being a comfortable towed behind our RV vehicle that excels off-road. Not too over-the-top and low key but a totally competent wheeling vehicle were our goals from the beginning. Feel that we are on the way toward achieving that 🙂
Agreed. Spouse wanted AT and my number one priority was a two-door. We each got something and the AT has grown on me. E-torque does seem to smooth things out when you are just starting out. What I really wanted was a two door diesel, now that would’ve been the cats meow!
No. The Jeep manual has a two page checklist for putting it into “RV” flat-4 on the ground tow mode & taking it out. Takes me about 3 min to do each using these checklists. I copied/laminated & follow them step-by-step every time. When the transfer case is in N “tow” position, the transmission is in kept in Park and does not turn. There are no limiting factors as many other vehicles require. I’m a manual transmission fan. But got the 8-speed AT for the wife. After several thousand miles off-road I’d highly recommend it over the manual version.
Prefer the “clean” look so had it removed by dealer before delivery. To see what it looks like now check my 7/22 update video: th-cam.com/video/w2c4s1_zjFA/w-d-xo.html
When I was working the deal, I told the sales manager I wanted the big RUBICON hood decals removed & no dealer advertising.. He said that’s an easy dealer “fix”. They removed them as part of their pre-delivery prep, no charge. (Antonio @ Jim Marsh JCD in Vegas).
Whats up with jeep and it's way expensive auto transmission and engine upgrade. Really? I thought the v6 was standard, so now there's a mild hybrid? Does it work? In the gladiator you still get a basic v6 and auto. I did an online build and it's cost a lot more to get a V6 auto Wrangler.
In Jun of 2020 I originally ordered a 2020 2Dr Rubicon configured with 3.6L & AT. That was coincidently one month before Jeep’s Toledo line shut down early to retool for the ‘21 models. I was subsequently notified I’d be getting a 2021 and asked if I’d be ok with a slight increase in price of around $500, most of which was for the newly required “mild hybrid” eTorque system for the AT. When I asked if I could get mine without, they said “No, if I still wanted the 3.6L 2Dr AT”. Last year Jeep was pushing everyone to buy the 4-cyl turbo and was offering a big discount for ordering one. A few mpg better mileage was not important to me since mine would be used off-road and I preferred reliability over the “sewing machine” 4 banger. Does eTorque work? Not sure, but in city driving it makes starting out from a complete stop to about 10 mph, very smooth and easy. The Auto Engine Stop/Start also works well at long traffic lights and that function can easily be modulated using the amount of brake pressure one applies. That was/is not important to me, since my Wrangler is not a daily driver. But it does work well when on paved surfaces. Cost increases this past year - compared to my purchase during last year’s virus shutdown craziness when dealers were hungry and inflation was close to zero, the overall cost of a similarly equipped Wrangler now is significantly more. Jeep supply chain challenges and limited dealer supply has also made ordering one difficult, especially at the big discount I obtained. At the time I ordered mine, no one was buying anything. Pricing follows supply & demand so that was a big part of why I got such a good deal. Would I buy the V6 2Dr again? Almost certainly yes! And the “almost” would only apply if Jeep made a 2Dr Wrangler Rubicon 4Xe or diesel (which they don’t). And even then, NOT for over $20K more than what I paid! 😮 Again, fuel mileage is NOT why I bought my Jeep.
Yes, very much and performs as goods as it looks. Check out videos from this past Summer when I took it on some amazing trails - th-cam.com/video/MorgsJeomJY/w-d-xo.html.
That's a great-looking jeep and an incredible deal! If you don't mind me asking, what factors do you think lead to getting such a deep discount? End of the year, quarter, or month incentives? I'm looking for one now and most of the dealers in SoCal will not budge below sticker price.
Several factors: Order it! - Placed my 2021 order in June of 2020, just after the 2020 line had been shut down Not settling for one on the dealers lot meant I got the exact configuration I wanted Waiting patiently for it to be built - it took 15 weeks! My Jeep as configured came without all the dealer profit booster items (which most hate!) TreadLightly membership: $100 donation = starting point of price negotiation @ 1% BELOW invoice Did blanket email with exact config I wanted & said “Here’s what I want. Give me your best price to order” Sent that email with my TreadLightly member #, to about to 10 total dealerships in AZ, SCal, NV & ELP Said in email I’d only deal directly with Sales Manager & lowest comeback will get the sale Best return on that email was Jim Marsh JCD in N Las Vegas, NV The Virus - ordered last June so dealerships in shutdown states were desperate for sales Thought TreadLightly of 1% below Invoice was good, but the lowest was even better! At time of delivery (15 weeks later), 36 mo @ 0% financing also in effect, even for Rubicon When I got the almost finalized deal from Jim Marsh, I took it into my local (2 miles away) Jeep dealer in AZ. They politely declined to sell one to me at that price. So I sent my $1,000 deposit to JM and finalized the deal. 15 weeks later I flew to Vegas, took Uber to the dealership & drove to AZ in my new Rubicon! On delivery, even the JM Finance Manager was amazed at the deal I had negotiated. On the way back, the 5-1/2 hour drive took 8 because I was careful to vary the speed with plenty of stops & starts to correctly break it in. Good luck with yours - love mine! It is EXACTLY what I wanted and more importantly It has none of the upgrades I didn’t want at an almost unbeatable price! 🙂
I live in SoCal and it seems there's lots of people with después pockets since they are willing to pay mark ups and scree for the rest of us hard working blue collar Americans. In two years, I'm willing to travel out of state, as California is know to have the meanest dealers. I want a two door Rubicon.
@@davidzavala337 Hi David. My local dealer wouldn’t touch the deal that was made possible simply because I was willing to travel. Calif isn’t unique with respect to dealers who are stubborn about prices, as is their right. It’s up to us consumers to search out & secure the absolute best deal. The more of us who are willing to do that, the better because that puts pressure on those who refuse to deal. Hope you get your dream Jeep. They are amazing vehicles.
Really like the wheel/tire combo. Considered beadlocks but glad I didn’t go that way. It seems 15 PSI works well in the desert. Neither... yet. It has way more power than I’m accustomed to with my prior towed vehicle - a 2013 Fiat 500 Pop. On the mild off-road runs so far, 4Lo gearing is plenty low. As a manual fan for ages, I like using the paddle shifter for steeper descents. But like’n the AT for climbing. Of course, add a lift with 37’s and that all changes. The 35” Nittos are perfect for how the Jeep is used right now. But definitely considering a mild lift like the Mopar (to keep the warranty intact).
@@NoGasWelcomeAboard I have a 93 yj on 37's with 4.88's, dyna trac pro rock 60's, 4.7 hesco stroker. Lot's of body armor ( reason for stroker). 5 speed nv 4500 out of a chevy, lots of other mods, but still street legal. I saw your jeep and it just looked really good. When you get ready to run 37's, will 2 inch lift be enough?
@@wesbarcus3761 Wow, you’ve done allot with your YJ, sounds nice. 35’s will be it for at least a year or two. Flat 4 towabiity behind RV is very important & works perfect with them. There are better lift options but want to keep warranty intact, hence the Mopar kit. It adds about 3” & that with the Rubi wells should work fine with either size.
@@NoGasWelcomeAboard yup, been looking. Rubicon has larger tire opening than regular wrangler. Girlfriend bought 2020 4 door willys, will fit 35's , Rubicon will fit 37's. With same amount of lift. Mine isn't pretty, try TH-cam ( wes drives over a car ). Blue with black hardtop.
Really nice. That red LED was a good idea. I was just on the WOG with a pic of my Lx dash. The PO drilled a hole dead center of the dash for the Road master red LED right through the EL strips.
Thanks CR, it works well. Updated the rear view camera several years ago, so it’s always on when the coach ignition circuit is active. That LED can be seen even in midday sun and at night it really gets your attention. Of course I also added an ON/OFF switch under the Jeep dash so that it can be turned off when it’s time to drive the Jeep. Nicest part was not having to run a wire all the way up to the coach dash. Thankfully my PO wasn’t into mods like that.
No, mine is not a daily driver so that was an expensive option I left off the list. The stock Rubi audio is not bad, even though the fancy off-road apps will not work on my 7” display. I enjoy Dakota’s ‘Driven Mad’ YT channel & you might also. At 2:30 here (th-cam.com/video/XyaowjiqicY/w-d-xo.html) he shows the JL 2Dr’s cargo area with the sub.
I’m sorry but I had an rv the Jeep world be on a trailer no need to put miles on the drivetrain (wheel bearings, UV joints, tires, transmission bearings) that’s a lot of extra “drag” and cause more fuel consumption. But that’s just my opinion
I hear you. However, at 16 months it has 4,400 ODO miles and maybe another 2,000 in tow mode, which is far less than any daily driver. The transmission does not turn under tow and it pulls beautifully. Don't even notice it behind the Bird with it's 400 HP & 36,000 lb GW, Fuel milage differential between towing vs clean is less than 1 mpg. Lastly, trailers are a real pain in NF CG's which we prefer, so this is a great solution.
Very nice set up for your rubicon. Happy to run into TH-cam Chanel. Where did you get those parts (front bumper, winch, aux break, etc)? Did you also install all those part by yourself? Also what the name of the dealership that you bought your Rubicon? Thank you very much, Pharon
Thanks. Most items purchased off Northridge4x4, Amazon or direct from manufacturers (when able). Took advantage of Labor Day & Black Friday deals which saved allot. Yes, all items have been self-installed. Ordered Jeep through Jim Marsh JCD in Las Vegas NV. Spec’d out exact vehicle I wanted using Jeep.com website. Took advantage of Tread Lightly 1% below invoice program to establish a starting point for price negotiation, and finally worked an out-the-door price ahead of time with the dealership Sales Manager Antonio via email BEFORE my first visit to the dealership. Their Finance Manager said I got a very good deal. However, a deal like this is only available if you are willing to wait. I waited almost 12 weeks due in part to the virus late last year. That gave me time to accumulate the parts I knew I’d be installing. Rubicon’s come with most of the upgrade items I wanted. Since mine isn’t a daily driver, I avoided all the “cool” stuff that wasn’t needed for our 4-wheeling adventures. That kept the final cost down. Very happy with the whole purchase experience and love the vehicle!
How I bought it is in the video, the written description and comments. Used the Jeep.com & kbb.com websites to research configuration and pricing. All negotiations were done directly with the dealer’s Sales Manager via email only. Then the order was finalized with a small credit card deposit over the phone. Three months later I took delivery in person at the Las Vegas NV Jeep dealership.
@@1911gunnut Before delivery, I told the dealers sales manager I wanted the huge hood decals removed. Left the side Trail Rated raised decals intact. Also told them to leave their dealer advertising decals OFF. No charge for any of that. If you’re thinking 35’s for your Rubicon, it’s best to negotiate that as part of the deal ahead of time because they’ll likely give you a better credit to exchange the 33” BFG’s than you’d get with an after delivery tire store. 35s will work just fine on the stock rims until you can get what you want.
@@NoGasWelcomeAboard I've always done tire exchanges with after-market shops. The dealers will typically add their share, as is their right when they source tires, and the tire shops deal in larger numbers, hence they can take your new tires in on trade, do the mount and balance and sell your old tires at a profit. Dealership cannot put the trade-in tires on a new car after the vehicle has been delivered to the dealership, so they're left with tires that they then sell to the tire-shop...they recover costs by adding it to your new ones, but the customer doesn't notice as it's absorbed in the payment.

Good looking Jeep!!!
Thanks! She’s very capable too, so not just a pretty face.
My dream car🌌😊 i want to buy this 2 door jeep wrangler. Red colour. 4wd. How much price does and where its showroom??
How I bought it is in the video, the written description and comments. Used the Jeep.com & kbb.com websites to research configuration and pricing. All negotiations were done directly with the dealer’s Sales Manager via email only. Then the order was finalized with a small credit card deposit over the phone. Three months later I took delivery in person at the Las Vegas NV Jeep dealership.
i like how you deleted the rubicon decals
Saw this last summer and loved the clean unassuming Clark Kent look. Had to have it!
Did you remove the decals yourself or can it be ordered that way from the factory?
