Got a 2013 JK Sport S 2 Door Black converted to JP29 from Jurassic Park (my wife's jeep ) and I have a 2020 JL Sport 2 door Mojito (I'm turning it into a Biosyn Genetics Jeep). My dad got a 2021 JLU SAHARA 2.0T Red last year. My mother has a 2009 Commander Limited Black since she bought it new and still has her 1981 CJ7 Black. Jeep family ❤️
I find 4Doors to be absolutely hideous abominations without 37s... but without real Cherokees anymore I understand the market for them. But it's so nice to watch videos of 2dr JL's doing their thing for once. Everyone seems scared to buy a true Wrangler, because they don't want to sacrifice their oversized SUV capabilities.
I just picked my JL 2 door with 20 miles on it 😅 try to learn about them not my first jeep but my first one with a lot of electric stuff, first time here and definitely I’ll stay!!! 🤙🏻
2dr is the best, I have a 21 JLR , I have a set of the JL pintler wheels waiting to go on along with a mopar 2” lift and a few other things. Trying to make up my mind on tires, enjoyed your video very much, thanks
I didn’t even try that hill. At that point we were on the trail for over 10 hours and it was the last real challenge. My friend in the JKU just took damage to rear body panels while attempting it. I think it could be done in a 2 door but you’ve got to be willing to risk serious damage. At that point I didn’t want to mess around and spend 20 minutes trying to crawl it when we were trying to get back in to town.
You’re going to need a lift (2.5) those inner fender flares will get torn off sooner or later maybe fender flares as well. But it’s nice to see the limits being pushed in those wheel wells😂👅
So what do you think about the one you could not make. And why did the four door make it. Length of the vehicle or tire tread, or tire pressure. What? I am wanting to get a jeep. I love the thought of the 2 door. Just saying.
I wasn’t keeping it in 1st gear by using manual mode on that obstacle. I did all day otherwise. When I was editing that video I realized that it was just in drive there as opposed to M1. I think I would’ve got it had I used that gear. He does have MT tires so they a bit more bite on the rocks than I do, wheelbase also helps with steep climbs, that one just just over 40 degree
It seems as though the four door is smoother and more stable off-road. I’ve got a TJ and my wife had a JLU Rubicon. The things I get stuck on compared to her is mind boggling. My next Jeep will be a 4 door as MUCH as I hate to say it. I love the 2 doors but dang, it seems the 4 doors can do more. I wish I saw a video of a 2 door doing more than a 4 door, but I can’t find any videos showing that. Anyone know of any? LoL
It depends on the cadence of the obstacles. I’ve had several times where the wheelbase puts the 2 doors in a better spot to climb, especially on ledges where on a four door the front is trying to climb at the same time as the back is yet to come up, whereas the 2 door fits on the ledge so you are climbing one ledge at a time.
For 35k or so used you'll " never" be able to buy it?!........ most people that " buy" one don't own it, the bank does...just do what they did, get in debt for something you really can't afford, then trade it in years later having never really owned it.
Short answer no. Long answer is that I’ve only rubbed once, in the rear. It was on the sand dunes in Michigan after getting a several feet of air 😂, and it was insignificant rubbing, no damage to inner fender or tires, only some marks on the plastic inners. The only area that it comes close to rubbing is the inner fender plastic inserts on the rear OEM steel bumper, which I left in but can be removed. A big part of this is the wheels that I’m using, they have very high backspacing so the tires are pulled in and when they flex they tuck up into the inner fenders nicely.
The 2 door wrangler will always be my favorite offroad vehicle of all time. I am lucky to daily a 2 door JK
They are so nimble and fun to drive off-road!

Incredible what a stock solid axel vehicle can do

Wooo
We have been doing similar kinda stuff with Mahindra thar 2.5ltr diesel turno engines at Goa, India it is full fun buddy 😀
Yes it is!!!
'82 CJ7 owner, I always wave to the 2 door Jeeps. Just not a fan of the station wagons. Although I did own '68 Wagoneer back in the day.
That last hill that you couldnt get up. Is there a mod to the jeep you can do that will allow you to get up it? Or just cant be done on a 2 door?

I bought a 2018 Rubicon recon and wonder where previous owner took it and if they didn't ruin it 😆
Ahh i would love to go some day but i dont know if my little 2 door sport would make it 😭🥲
Your video says you have a JL 2 dr Rubicon Recon --- doesn't the recon come with a 2" lift and 35s?
You are talking about the Xtreme Recon edition that started in model year 2021. The recon edition stopped in 2020.
Great Video! What size tires are those and what (if any) suspension mods are you running to accommodate them?
I’m running 315/70r17 BFG KO2. There are no suspension mods. The only other modification is AEV JL wheels.

I probably won't use my Rubicon recon for it's intended purpose Lol
What will you use it for?
@@SeekTheOpen I just like to drive it around town..lol. I'll probably sell it .
Did you air down before you got on the trail?? If so what did you lower it to?
Would a manual be good for off roading? Seems it’ll be a little more difficult but I want it manual 🙃
Yes a manual would make it more challenging
Is My Dream car ,,i ll never be able to buy it, ,but is an amazing car
Thanks! I feel very blessed to have one

No tire rub at all?

Thanks for the detailed reply. I have a 2022 JLR and am contemplating tires on stock suspension and rims.
@@mikesters3532 I currently run 315/70r17 BFG KO2s and they’ve treated me well on the road and on the trail.
Let a little air out of your tires
I was aired down to 12-15psi for this trip.
Bad a$$! Ride
Thanks!
