- Onewheel Pint Vs Onewheel XR, is it worth the upgrade ?
In this video I review the Onewheel Pint. After having a Onewheel XR for several months and being extremely happy with the purchase I finally got my hands on the Pint and heres what I think. This video was not sponsored or endorced by Onewheel, both the Pint and XR were purchased personally.

I think this is the first time I've seen anyone test acceleration on a Pint VS XR comparison. Thanks!
I have had my tricked out Pint for little over a year and I love it! Your analysis is my experience too. I solved the range anxiety two months ago by fitting the Sonny Wheels VNC mod which allows me to use my Pint natural or with a parallel battery. I use a 2 AH battery (lighter weight) for double the range and a 6AH (same size but heavier) for triple the range. It even even works with my C&R magnetic fender. The one thing I cannot solve (except by chilling out and enjoying the carvy ride) is the speed issue where I am constantly running on the verge of pushback. My dream is to complement my beloved Pint with a new version of the XR that will no doubt come at some time in the future but until that day I can totally recommend the Pint as an inner city commuter in any weather conditions. 🥳🙏🏾
This is so accurate !! I enjoy riding the Pint A LOT ! And I know the range can be extended but the speed, even though subtle, cannot. But like you said for inner city it's perfect.
Thanks Eugene !
And one month later your dream can come true. A new version of the XR and a faster pint!
Good one Austen. I had a pint and then upgraded to the XR. I to am in Calgary and agree with most of your points. If people are looking to upgrade the battery in the pint I would recommend just saving the money and get an XR. Pint would be great in the city but I live in the sticks and love the adventure and range of the XR.
Hey another Calgary rider, awesome !
I agree. If you buy a Pint with the intention to upgrade the battery you may as well get an XR !
how do you not have 100.000+ subs, the quality of this vid is so great!
Appreciate it ! Hopefully one day !!
I actually went from Pint to XR and then sold my Pint. Its a cool nippy little thing but to me, when i realised that i really loved the way these boards felt, the range was simply just the limiting factor to fun for me. I had about 400km on my Pint when i sold it and just over a year later of owning my XR ive racked up around 3200km on it.
GT40 battery mod or pint x solve the range issue
@@chrisjb241aye teach me!!! im buying a one wheel pint for 250$ and i wanna upgrade the battery.
Great review Austen!! Need to get me one of those Onewheel's!
love this video and how you compare the differences and commute costs bud. still impressed how you ripped the trails with that Pint.
Thanks Anthony !
Agreed, very complete video! Btw, if you're riding a onewheel too you should check nta helmets like xnito or bern hudson, I see a lot of people still wearing cpsc helmets which aren't really safe
Best review I've seen of the pint. And from a fellow Calgarian as well!
agreed.
I went the way of a V1,. Oldest model, stock range as pint, size for trails like XR, I have sonny wheels pnr and have range now as XR. But with that battery it's heavy. And it has lower HP motor,. But if I went any faster it would probably kill me. Love my One wheel. Floating almost everyday @56 yrs young.
I had the Pint and upgraded to the XR. I tried the Pint this morning and while carvy and fun I am much happier with the XR. Just save the money and go big. You’re biggest regret will be having bought one and then just ended up with the expense of up-grading later.
Thanks for the info!
Can you hand carry this on a plane?
This is the best video comparison of the pint v xr on TH-cam imo. This video is worthy of 10x more views! Thank you for the comparison sir. You did a far better job than anyone else on TH-cam
The price of the pint makes it so tempting. I don't know anyone with a one wheel to try one and really want to get one. I'm 6'2" with size 13 feet and probably got to get a xr. Not really any reviews specify their body size.
Ohh I’d definitely got with the XR then. I am 5’10 size 10 shoes and the pint feels really small !
Thank you for this, helps a ton!
I wonder if the acceleration of the two boards is actually as different as the "test" demonstrates... I would have liked if y'all switched boards and did it again. It looked like the guy riding the XR just didn't push it as hard as he could have, but IDK as I haven't ridden either yet. Just makes more sense to me if you could accelerate faster by being a lot more aggressive with your lean.
GR8 VID! , Would love to see some maths of battery charge time ,inputting volts, / power per cost of power i.e charge specs in relation to those equations you did as public software requires no charging and your vehicle does , get a pint x verson#! full math full detail , p.s well plan and nice structure of the video enjoyed the feedback 11mins well spent, you definably deserve a sub here ya go
Moving to a small coastal town and I'm considering getting a one wheel for cruising around while my kids ride their bikes around town and maybe to the store for a couple last minute groceries I feel like the one wheel would be perfect
What profile were you riding on during your testing? Which do you prefer overall?
Where can you buy a used pint?
Hey I'm in Calgary. I just bought a one-wheel XR. I'm having troubles falling in love with it. It'd be cool if you ever want to meet up and go for a cruise. Let me know.
Hey Mike, there is a huge community here in Calgary, shoot me an email, I'll add you to the group chat !

So who knows all about the batteries in these things? Is the bms set up with a counter for charge discharge cycles like other proprietary lithiums? Ppl say if u disconnect the battery to replace then it won't turn back on after connecting new battery! So just hold the voltage up with an external supply while u do the swap. I imagine theyve put the counter in the mainmoard rather than in the bms. Does the company making them get the expired onewheels back somehow so they can replace the batteries and resell em? Or they just happy for u to bin it and buy another new one?
Can I ask what are your print settings for the printer and how do you get them so clean
How is winter travel?
i was considering getting a pint but wassent sure if it was worth the 1000$ is it worth it?
Great video, keep them coming!
once while riding my onewheel pint I hit a speed of 20 mph and hit a huge nose dive sending my glasses and head into the ground, breaking my glasses and giving me a black eye.
Shit I crashed at 17mph, hope your doing better.
Sounds fun
yeah i crashed at 27mph on my pint on vacation was not a fun one
where did you buy the pint?
FIRST COMMENT IN A YEAR, 3 years later and vid still hits
@@Powerhouse132 let's goooo! Haha I got the XR' classic the other day it's pretty good too :p
Thank you great video
Nice video!
thanks !
I live on the outskirts of Las Vegas, so it's a pretty decent distance to get to anything from my house. How fast does the battery charge on the XR and are there places that would allow you to charge up the device if need be? I would hate to run out of battery on the way home
Hey ! I have plugged mine in all over, never had someone comment on it.
The charging does take a while though. I dont know the exact time from 0-100% but if you are in a rush to charge there is a hypercharger availiable too
@@AustenHartley Awesome, thanks for the reply! I guess I just don't know what kinds of places I could stop to charge if I need to. cause I'd feel iffy about leaving it in a store or something incase someone decided to steal it. Loved the video btw!
@@peanutbutterkeys3092 that's why you walk into a walgreens or cvs and sit on the floor right next to it, the Hypercharger will have you fully charged in about 45 minutes. that's like... 1 episode of something. pop some headphones and have a nice show.
@@dphilipson That's true, they wouldn't mind you just popping in for a quick charge? If not that would def be a good option
where do you get the bearing seals??
Link in the description to the store !
@@AustenHartley Any other add ons youd recommend for the pint?
@@chrisfinch6484 Working on an accessory video for the pint right now ! Will probably be a couple of weeks though !
Did you change the ride profile before taking the first ride?
Yeah thats in the most aggressive mode !
So basically the Pint is for beginners or for those that don't mind that slower speed.
What about the pint X
Trying to decide if I should buy a used XR or a Pint X. Stumbled on this.
I'd go with the Pint X. However, with all the XR's on the market you might be able to get one for super cheap.
Is there an option for a refurbished mini.... that someone traded in?
I dont think so, but you can buy them used and the machines are pretty rock solid so I wouldn't be too worried about warranty and stuff like that
XR with Whisper tire is 🤤
i dont understand
I Love my Onewheel Pint. ❤➖⚫➖
Best piece of technology I brought.
I always want a onewheel but the money always kills me😭😭
same
my Quickwheel Explorer Scooter did cost me $770.00 with 5400W, max speed 90km/h and a range of 110km with huge offroad tires. and this was two years ago. I snowboard and skate here in Switzerland since 40 Years and obviously you can't really compare a scooter to an Onewheel. But even the Onewheel GT looks just to weak and way to overpriced for me and has no range to get anywhere here ^^
You have to try one before you compare it to a scooter. It is a vastly different experience and piece of hardware/software.
I had my Pint for a Year Now and Yes Pint is Awesome enough to get you to Point A to Point B.
It's Perfect for me.
Chi Battery are Great Option to give you more Range. But I decide not to do it because 7miles Range on Full Charge are Plenty. Guaranteed Your feet Will start Hurting around 4 miles anyway so I dont think XR with 18 miles per Charge is For me. ( That's way too much)
But If you have a Pint, I recommend getting the "Ultra Charger" Charge your Board way Faster it's way better than the Home Charger.
Must be annoying buying the pint when the new just came out!
´
Buy a onewheel plus. (20min charge) same range or better then a pint.
but these $1,000 prices are ridiculous
I was the one who broke his arm... I am getting my cast off tomorrow!!!
Great review, thanks. You may want to upgrade the battery. I have the chisystem's quart battery, and it is a huge boost and less range stress.
new pint just came out and solves that
@@tommywagner96 yes, and I just ordered it and the GT.
flatless tire? rain resistant or rain waterproof?
Not 100% sure what you mean. It is water resistant though !
Man I'm glad to see a vid up to date bro 👍🏾
Now I got a new hoosier tire for my pint at 23 psi. Oh and if your in LA check out my man ONEWHEEL GURU 💯
I'm getting an extra mile now so I'm at 9 miles. I'm thinking of going to 25psi maybe I can get 10 miles 🤷🏾♂️ who knows. Plus Ima look into this chi battery I'm hearing it gets u 12-15 miles 🤔
Appreciate it ! And will do !
Yeah the Pint has some pretty good upgrades availiable too. I plan on making some and maybe doing a video on it.
I've heard good things about the chi battery !
Hey at GreedyHungry, if you're looking for portable range, consider a VnR (Vamp and Ride) mod. some guys have it here and they get 2 x XR range with the 5.0Amp Greenworks battery in a back pack.
🔥💕😍👍
Call me a fuddyduddy, but the OneWheel should go no faster than 20 miles per hour, unless you’re a professional racer supported by an on-site medical team.
Big floppa de zombies lobo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😑 now the 950 dollars cost 1,050 dollars now. :(
haha shoot. Thumbs down for that one :p
@@AustenHartleywhy did the price go up?
It is so sad that in these times in Germany you still get shot by the police if u ride these 😮 and there is no legal way to use or have insurance riding these. It is so much better than the terrible scooters
This board is for young kid light and limber on their feet not adults. You will eventually get hurt. Beware!
🕯️🕯️🕯️
You are an unfortunate adult
If people think the pint is better. They just have not spent enough time on the XR.
Just depends what you want to use it for.
A Calgary driver of one wheel
Kilometers? I’m out
👋
If you fall off a one wheel it will hurt and cost you $$$$ and lots of physical therapy…… but boy was it fun while it lasted
This is true lol . Hope you’re ok
Hehe yes $950 is the stock, I'm more than $700 into upgrades and accessories, and I know riders with way more on their original Pints#floatlife - o -
Pint pushback SUCKS at 24mph,, I got the XR soooo much better!
My kid can get his pint up to 19.4 mph
The only reason to buy a pint is to bring it on a plane.
한국인은 구입이 가능한가
XR>PINT
JUST buy a Pint and save a bunch of money? He buys both?? lol
;)
😑 now the 950 dollars cost 1,050 dollars now. :(
