I wish more channels (including this one) would give Citizen more credit. They make a TON of good looking watches that are hard to beat in terms of functionality for the price. Whether it's automatic or Eco-Drive, Citizen really is a fantastic value proposition, and no watch snob could meaningfully argue otherwise.

Proud owner of a white Sealander C63 (GMT version) here, and it's every bit as beautiful in real life as it looks on the website (or on TH-cam.) It may not have the five-figure finishing or movement as its clear inspiration, the Rolex Explorer II, but what it did accomplish was taking the Explorer II's design and improving it in several different ways, from a slight touch of added color to a reduced size to less emphasis on the 24-hour numbers, preventing bezel from drawing attention away from all the lovely features of that exquisite dial.
I'm surprised that you have left Hamilton out of the list. They do have a few nice watches under $1000. I'm seriously looking at buying a Murph now that it's available in 38mm

As regards the Sinn field watch is concerned I would personally go for the Hamilton Khaki King automatic. A fantastic watch with an 80 hour power reserve. Alternatively there is a Seiko Solar quartz field watch which has the day/date configuration of other Seiko models. Like the Sinn it also has the black and white configuration and the lume is really one of the best in the watch industry. It is water resistant to 100M and is suitable for small size wrists. Priced at just over £100 it's a bargain of a watch. You are spot on also with regards to Casio G-Shock watches. I have two in my watch collection both of which are solar powered and have Multiband 6 radio control for accuracy and of course 200M water resistance. Great tool watches which every watch collector should have. Thanks for the interesting video.
If I were to add a watch to this list, I think it would be the SeaGull 1963. Retro Chinese-military aesthetic and a decent chronograph movement for under £300

Love My PRX Powermatic 80, especially nice with the blue leather strap. I tested mine, I got over 88 hours of power reserve and the accuracy has been impressive, about 1-2 secs fast per day if I'm wearing it, about 5 secs fast per day if it's in the watch winder. Great value especially if you pick one up for sale, mine was just $440.
I have the Tissot PRX powematic in navy blue waffle with the leather bracelet and matching blue stitches; the watch looks and feels absolutely amazing. My daily watch was my Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra on steel bracelet, and I haven't worn it in ages due to this!
I have the same watch and I struggled trying to decide if I wanted the blue or the black and was so happy when I got the blue. It's like it transforms in different lighting conditions. Outside it is blue but, indoors you get your dark almost black you want, I love it. I've never seen a leather strap since I specifically bought it because it was integrated, I'll have to check it out. I did see some early rubber straps though.
I've got a Sinn 556A but I went for the RS version because the red second hand gives it a nice pop of colour, plus it's almost called "Arse" - what's not to like?
Hipster tryhard bullshit. Pretend to be "minimalist or not care duuude" and then spend extra time, energy, and resources manufacturing a completely useless feature on your watch.
I already have a SKX009 and a Casioak in the collection. The new Seiko 5 is only better than the SKX in the movement being Hacking and Hand winding. It's got less water resistance and the alignment issues are still as bad. Oh I forgot to mention it's also £100 more expensive than I paid for a then new SKX. Although admittedly they now command much more being a cult classic. I love the PRX and will no doubt be adding 1 to the collection in the not too distant future. The Farer watches look cool as well. Great content and list fellas.👍👍
I bought a 35mm PRX as a watch for activitys, where its not a good idea to wear a geniune rolex day-date. Awesome watch, the gold plating seems to be pretty durable too.
RE the Christopher Ward "In the know" watch, I like to do that with autos. There is invariably someone that knows I have the last year something was done really well when I get them serviced. They are not appreciated by the general public, though.
Put on your hand a Formex Reef / GMT or Essence and find out that luxury and technological progress fit under €2000. I don't understand why I don't see any Formex videos on Watchfinder???
I found it funny and I was a bit elated the Casio G-Shock features prominently in Avatar: Way of Water, which is said to take place more than 100 years in the future. All the soldiers, even when they are in their much larger Avatar form, are wearing these G-Shocks. The brand has become so synonymous with the military and special forces units that even in science fiction films that take place in the future still insist on having them as part of a soldier's apparel. Given that the Avatars in the film are supposed to be nearly twice as large as a human, they had to recreate the G-Shocks in CGI to be proportional to their size.
Well a 80's movie showcasing a Casio works current day. I do not think the 80's feel THAT long ago. But think, that is 43 years ago, and that style still does not seem out of place. In 43 years it will be 2066. Unless Casio does not continue down the same path, it is justifiable to foresee it may seem right at home then also.
I’m interested in tissot prx but I have seen an issue that second hand and even minute hand isn’t aligned. This throws me off a bit because I love this watch for everything else.
The only watch I would add to the list are the French micro brand Baltic. Their watches are great, including the new tricompax from 2022. Big fan of their work
The first PRX release run was meh to me but these new iah colors have really hyped me up alao the fact they sized down some of the choices , tissot has never really disappointed me
I wear a Certina that says DS Action on it. Bought it on sale in Doha after reading somewhere that they are difficult to destroy. I have tried. I am hard on watches and this one has survived for ten years of being beaten up. No one else seems to have one, which I like. And it has an orange thing with numerals around the outside, now well scratched.
Great choices. I'd add the new Accurist Origin chrono for style, Smiths Everest for the history and the Seagull 1963 for just being a cheap but cool watch.
I’m going to knock on the Formex door too, I have an Essence on a rubber strap, it has a lot of surprising stuff on it and gets some great comments from some of my more snobby friends!
I love the G-Shock but don't understand their price point for the full metal edition. I can go and buy a resin one for £100, spend £100 on a metal case and bracelet and have a good chunk of change. Brand new modded ones are going on for £240. I appreciate its a mod and it isn't stock, but surely Casio could have priced it a bit lower. I mean, add another £150 onto the £500 you'd spend on the Metal G-Shock and you're touching entry level Hamilton prices. Watch Nation have the Jazzmaster open heart for £620 and I'd personally much rather go for a Hamilton than a G-Shock.
Casio are simply very aware that people are willing to pay that much for what is technically an inferior design (from a durability standpoint). Don't forget that Balenciaga and Supreme still exist. While I personally think the metal G Shocks are quite stylish, there's no way in hell I could justifiy to my future self spending money on one when you can get the same module in a better case for a much lower price.
That Farer Flyback Chronograph with the Blue Dial is now on my list of watches to own, a Flyback is a difficult complication, and neither Omega or Rolex can make one, and this is just over $600?! I must have one!!!
Great video, just bought a PRX Powermatic myself - if you could, Please Review the Seiko Arabic Dial SNK063J5 35mm - Interested to see your take on it from a collector's point of view. Saw an article on GQ earlier this year on them saying they are under the radar - for now
You guys have great taste in watches. I love the Brew, Isotope, and Farer. Somebody send them to me. I'll trade you a photo of a cat autographed by the cat.
The Sinn 556 gets a lot of love, but its German cousin Damasko is arguably better and similarly priced. Equally austere looking but with a superior submarine steel case (unlike the 556) and a true in-house movement if you buy the DK30.
I also managed to get the Casio gmb for something like £290 Any of my U.K. friends the flannels (overpriced clothing) website had them on there on sale for as low as £350 So if you want one check on there Arrived the next day paying standard delivery
Love to hear what one thinks of the Pantheum Oculus: -Seiko automatic movement -200m water resistance -sapphire crystal -dial inspired by the roof of the Pantheon -think it’s about 500€
Have the Brew Metric, want the Isotope, your other choices are mostly kewl too. Those gorgeous Vapaus watches could do with a look at sometime, as their range tends to fall into this category..............
Isotope , a beautiful watch! The name Allba Similar to the Irish Gaelic word ‘Albain’ for Scotland ; Ulster dialect pronounced Alben, however Munster and Connacht dialects are Ala-ben
The v68 one square one is wonderful but the hand and subdial printing makes it too busy for me. If those were less blocky and black and white or at least the hands or the subdial used a lifhter shade, this would be an instant buy.

I don't know if watch snobs will hate: 1. Glycine Combat Sub & Glycine Airman. Both are Swiss made under 1k and for the Sub can be found for 200 for the quartz version. 2. Alpina Startimer & Seastrong. Also Swiss with long heritage and can be bought under 1k well build 3.Citizen Fugu or ProMaster Eco-Drive. Slept on and I think better value than Seiko 5 4. Entry Level Laco 39mm Augsburg. Heritage up the roof Myota movement under 500 5. Timex Q Chronograph. This watch is a homerun for me I was not into Timex until I saw this 200 dollar watch 6. Bulova Hack and A15 pilots watch. What's not to love when they bring back designs from the past.
I tried on some Tissots today at the mall. And WOW it is quite an experience to wear indeed. No lie! I think I may get 3. The blue faced honey comb, white faced with gold trim and maybe even the chronograph. It’ll be great if they made a rose gold one!
I've had the blue powermatic 80 for a while now and you will love it. It literally goes with anything other than dress and the dial has a different attitude depending on the lighting. I got super lucky and got one new for less than they are going for used now. I think it was an algorithm glitch or something lol.
Great selection of watches here! If you are wondering what the opposite of try hard is, it's "Sprezzatura" and Sinn in German is pronounced like "Zinn" would be in English
Nice watches for a good value of money. The brew looks very good. A friend of mine owns the brew with a different dial. I love more the white one. But from my point of view there is a watch missing in the list of watches no one hates. The new Formex Models. Since Formex startet new in 2016 they changed the design and the quality in a way i didn't expect you can do in that pricerange. So have a look on this brand if you don't know it.

Great choices. I'd add the new Accurist Origin chrono for style, Smiths Everest for the history and the Seagull 1963 for just being a cheap but cool watch.
Seagull 1963 is good build and cool watch.
I bought my son a Seiko 5 for his 16th birthday and he loves it.
The Farer is my favorite of these but it's not on their website and it appears it's not available. Where can I find it?
I would throw a Hamilton Kaki in the mix as well
I would also throw it in the mix as well. I bet you wont reply me.
Man, i love that sinn... I don't know if a Seiko 5 is so loved by the snobs. A SKX they háve to love though.
I’m going to knock on the Formex door too, I have an Essence on a rubber strap, it has a lot of surprising stuff on it and gets some great comments from some of my more snobby friends!
you’ve got them all exactly spot on!!
Which should i pick, g shock gm 2100 or tissot prx
That Sinn watch is beautiful!
It's because people WANT to spend that much on a G-shock.
There's more tech in the metal one e.g. it is bluetooth enabled while the GA 2100 base model is not.
The Hamilton Khaki is conspicuous by its absence - the mechanical, in particular, is eminently affordable, and features 50m of snob resistance.
Just got myself Seiko 5 (63) from HSamuel for £162 - looking forward to wearing it.
Great list and banter. I'm wearing my Citizen Nighthawk today, would definitely be on my list!
That Farer Flyback Chronograph with the Blue Dial is now on my list of watches to own, a Flyback is a difficult complication, and neither Omega or Rolex can make one, and this is just over $600?! I must have one!!!
Because it's quartz? A mechanical flyback is a far more difficult and expensive proposition.
Don't think you can go wrong with either brand.
I agree. The Sinn 556 is now overpriced and offers poor value. It badly needs updating and improving.
I also managed to get the Casio gmb for something like £290
Any of my U.K. friends the flannels (overpriced clothing) website had them on there on sale for as low as £350
So if you want one check on there
Arrived the next day paying standard delivery
great contribution, thank you very much! i recently owned a formex essence with a malachite dial. this watch would also fit well into this series.
Great list!
I'd put Unimatic in there as well.
I love the PRX, I have a quartz 35mm and it gets more wrist-time than my Sub Date
Love to hear what one thinks of the Pantheum Oculus:
-Seiko automatic movement
-200m water resistance
-sapphire crystal
-dial inspired by the roof of the Pantheon
-think it’s about 500€
I have a isotope, I love it and I like looking at it.
One of my best purchases was the Spinnaker Hull in blue. Lovely quality, automatic movement, great looks, and so affordable!
You have good taste.
Spinnaker Croft are worth looking into!
Prx is my choice. But I would add the tissot gentleman to this list also. I dig the open heart model.
I know a lot of watches that offer better quality/money ratio than the c63 sealander, so where can I sign in to get a free one?
Great choice of watches. Theres at least 3 i will be looking into further, 1 being the "Mr Jones colour watch". What a talking piece.
Literally not one of these watches is available on your website. What does that say about the snobs who run watchfinder?
I have two of these and was looking at another on the list so I'm quite pleased with myself that I might actually be a little be cool.
What do you guys think of the Seiko prospex blue dial ssc909??
Just purchased the Seiko 5 and its more beautiful in person then pictures show.. Incredible value for the price
The C63 is on the menu for me, for sure. My bestest watch buddy (Greg? Greg?) got the Farer flyback--the only Quartz he owns. He loves it.
Anyone know the reference number of the Tissot PRX in the thumbnail??
My first watch I purchased was a Raymond Weil quartz chronograph. I never here anyone mention there watches they have some beautiful pieces.
Anything by baltany or the helm miyako if you like the 50 fathoms
Baltany is great.
@@Strideo1 just ordered the retro panda chronograph using the Xmas discount code
Thanks for telling us the price in UK pounds ,saves me googling every 5 minutes.some great choices .really enjoyed this video.heres to next year cant wait.cheers lads.carl from cov.
I don't know if watch snobs will hate:
1. Glycine Combat Sub & Glycine Airman. Both are Swiss made under 1k and for the Sub can be found for 200 for the quartz version.
2. Alpina Startimer & Seastrong. Also Swiss with long heritage and can be bought under 1k well build
3.Citizen Fugu or ProMaster Eco-Drive. Slept on and I think better value than Seiko 5
4. Entry Level Laco 39mm Augsburg. Heritage up the roof Myota movement under 500
5. Timex Q Chronograph. This watch is a homerun for me I was not into Timex until I saw this 200 dollar watch
6. Bulova Hack and A15 pilots watch. What's not to love when they bring back designs from the past.
Very cool and inspiring watches! Excellent video.
Christopher Ward, Quality/price/style: Tissot-a one watch to rule ten all watch: after for the colour and fun
Great selection of watches here! If you are wondering what the opposite of try hard is, it's "Sprezzatura" and Sinn in German is pronounced like "Zinn" would be in English
Great choices guys, love the tissot and the Farer. Unimatic have some very cool watches as do Certina.
While I have a few Rolex watches I'm a big fan of Dubeys and Tissot watches. I love the PRX choice and am expecting a Tissot for Christmas :-)
How about the Muhle Glashutte SAR Lumen in white with the steel/rubber strap
Definitely not in the same price range as the watches presented.
