After Christmas booting up the training...hitting gym and spin hard then April-mid June hoping to do x6 100 milers and x2 200 milers before CTS 21st June ! 😁
I’m always flip flopping between tubeless and tubes and tbh gp5000’s and latex tubes is hard to beat and oh so much easier to live with. It’s just the clean up after a problem but to be fair as you say it worked but look how much material it took for it work. That tier has to be empty now. I’m not convinced about the rolling resistance advantages either especially when people fill them with 80ml of product.
Buuuuuut…. It worked and instead of swapping a tube I just had to deep clean the bike when I was home. To be honest- would have been easier to swap a tube
Thanks for the footage of the mess sealant makes when you have a puncture. I would hate to be the one cleaning that up. Did anyone in the group get sprayed? It reinforces my judgement to never use tubeless setups again. Using TPU tubes and when I flat the only time spent is when changing a tube, nothing more. 😉
Super enjoyable video. I've walked around Richond Park but never ridden. What model Sungod sunglasses are those? At first I thought they were Ultras, but the shape is different. I've never seen that shape before.
Sportful gear must go down as the best bang for buck cycling gear the fiandre range is brilliant stuff …. High end assos all day of the week and twice on Sundays , their bibs are the comfiest things in cycling
Yes, basically. I don’t have a group of mates that can ride every weekend out near me so often will head into town and that’s where a load of my friends all live and cycle
Mostly from Instagram and people/brands sharing them on their stories. The Clubhouse always reshares stories of brands hosting rides, which is how I found the Maap one. They are usually hosted out of bike cafes/stores like VIA, Clubhouse etc
£125-£150 for a jersey is ridiculous though. Probably costs less than a tenner to make. I will never ever pay that sort of money for a short sleeve jersey. Madness.
The mille gt range is £115 for a jersey. There are currently some on the website for £81. Assos outlet is also worth a visit. Large discounts on previous seasons' gear.
Hey Max enjoyed watching your video, how are you getting on with the Hyper D67’s ? I’m thinking about investing in a set in the new year for my west London rides , keep up the good work 👍🏽
Yeah love them- they’ve held up great after riding them in Turkey in the thunder storm and the Hyper 3 are a star ratchet which I prefer and sounds good! 23mm internal which works for me as I run 28mm tyres so they sit a bit wider
650 for 50s is killer power. legit. and talking about punctures.... 2023 I should have changed my name to "The Puncture Life" had more than 50 the whole year. 24 was only better because ive been off the bike for half the year haha.
I’m getting there. Strictly cycling for the last 5 weeks and no running, plus a structured training program. Jan will do my local climb which I have a 2:42 PB for and want to see if I’ll have improved. Thanks though man
@@blaze1148 i had more punctures in 2024 than I have all the years since 2010 combined. Moved to middle of nowhere florida and picked up every single roofing nail, shingle staple and piece of broken sharp metal on the road in a 10mile single lap loop around here. Have ridden gp5000s tr and other popular 28c tubeless rubber for like 7k miles and after non stop, non sealing, ride ending punctures I gave up with tubeless completely and went to ultra thin high road SL's with tpu tubes, saved huge weight, dramatically increased comfort and no mess when I have a puncture. the following 7-8k miles that year had the same frequency of pickups and the performance jump to ultralight rubber and 85psi made it a net positive to ditch the tubeless. That said, my new weight weenie fast gravel build im doing this week is going tubeless again... on 45c and at dramatically lower pressure it may work out. I dont think tubeless is worth the hassle when speed is your main concern. easy and clean to swap a tube on side of road...
Always something? No winter riding on ...winter bike, with mudguards, slime inner tubes, rode these all the time 'oop norf throughout proper winters no issues
You get about lad 😂… Assos kit has always been top quality. Love it. Pricing is inline with other premium brands. 👌
lol. Looks that way but they are on 30 min drives to get to West London.
Clubhouse is my second home
I would reaffirm my love for TPU tubes... 😀

Lovely day in the saddle 🔥 Thanks for showing me around - 2025’s the year that I stay with you on the Richmond park hill 😂
Great to see you on the channel 👏
@@TBATTIECYCLING Appreciate it! 🤝
That bianchi ! ❤❤❤❤
“Take your bike to bed with you” quote of the day! Not sure my wife would approve 😂
Gotta give the bottom bracket the love that it deserves
I think that Atiba guy just has a naturally high cadance. 😅 Nice meeting you!
Leaning into your riding style is what it’s all about

10,000 is coming Fast 👍… Thinking you need to Aim for 50 … Just keep the Great Content coming, and that will happen 💪🚴♂️🚴♀️🚴♂️🚴♀️🍻
That’s the only reason I won’t run tubeless on the road, I can’t have that mess all over me and my bike.

Yeah not for me on road. Great for gravel ⚽

Does nobody use mudguards on any rides you are on!!!

Assos known for their Bib Shorts, ordering few jerseys!
Are Assos the brand that has the women’s bibs that have detachable bibs?
Cabot answer that question, I’ve ordered two Mens bibs cannot wait to try.

Greetings from Poland ( Warsaw)!
Every trendy fashion bike brand: "Lets host a ride from putney"
Getting a bit unoriginal huh…. 👀
But good for the industry. Cycling is booming and we gotta keep it going
@ certainly is but you’re not wrong 🤝🏽
Do you just go round London turning up to all these group rides?!?!😂
Yes, basically. I don’t have a group of mates that can ride every weekend out near me so often will head into town and that’s where a load of my friends all live and cycle
Max and his bottom bracket 👏
BB86’s make me a bit angry
Another beautiful ride Max, was hoping the route would take you through a Christmas ⛄ market 😊
Spraying sealant like snowflakes

Hi Max, love your winter glasses what make are they? Are they expensive and do they come with different lenses? Thanks David
Jealous of all these group rides. London really is the spot for it.
Max. How do you get to know about the group rides?

Yeah it’s definitely a lot. £160 for MAAP and a couple of Assos were £175 😫
That’s all that matters then, all the other costs associated with a brand don’t matter 😒
@@joeblack7469 Not sure what you mean?

Hi mate, love the videos. What do you use to film? Cheers
Any sealant left in that tyre?
I’ve topped it up… but not by much
@@thewattlifeWhat sealant are you using? I use stan's and it has never made that mess even with big punctures.

What tyres do you use....I think Schwalbe Pro Ones are the best - certainly better than Contis imo.....but maybe your pressures are too low 😉

Open your eyes, everyone wears Maap around RP 😂
Perhaps. Don’t see much of it out Windsor/Henley way unless it’s a London crew on a Bun Run or a MAAP ambassador 👀
Not me - i'm a Castelli kid 😁
why didnt Ya_boifr make an appearance, the mans a beast on a bike.

are Londoners allergic to mudguards?
Yes. Seems that way
