Because Brian had been playing grindy control decks for so long, it’s always impressive to see how good he is at card and clock management in a control mirror. He really gets to flex those skills against people who are newer to control decks and he ends up winning a surprisingly amount of games to it
1:20:00 Saint Kath has been errataed. The printed version of Saint Kath says "When ~ dies ...", but they errated the oracle text to be "When ~ is put into your graveyard from the battlefield...", because of the exact confusion that you mentioned.
triumph did have a slight errata regarding shenanigans when an opponent takes your triumph. as printed its "when triumph dies, exile it and the top 6 cards of your library", which as written gives the trigger to her controller
1:47:50 Correction... trophy defeated by not countering counter balance when you had the chance. Idk what you were thinking on that tbh. Said you were worried about teferi and murktide then also declined to fight over teferi. But counterbalance gives them the edge in counter wars. A clear value card when you're playing a control deck looking to go long. Idk that one seemed like an easy decision to me.
You mentioned being worried about boarding out bauble a lot, but tbh I agree with it. I feel like bauble is used to not draw 'the wrong half' of you deck in g1, and then you can trim them postboard when you deck is streamlined
Legacy made 180 my opinion about Uro. The bant control piles made me love the card, I just wish the format was more accessible, but me and my friends at least play it wih proxies
Quick thought on hydroblast vs the leyline deck. With the 5 color leyline in play is hydroblast not just a one mana instant speed destroy target anything? Though… maybe too niche and specific
I have been playing this build as well and I agree that the mirror or pseudo mirror is going to be an issue in this deck. I might need to lean on Narset pretty hard in the sideboard for these match ups.
I had a good showing with the 4c beans deck at an event yesterday though I'm not sure exactly how good Triumph is. Most of the time it feels worse than just sticking a big murktide
41:00 100% I would have mulled that hand. One Leyline is fine but playing essentially at 4 cards in hand just to kill one of your wincons seems really bad here. Love his name though, Vidar :)
Love this brew more than I love getting my collection signed by Rebecca Guay (okay, not that much). Hope this list is refined to shit when I get to play with it.
I'm hoping that the Ban list update on Monday axes Bowmaster and Beanstalk from the format. Even if they are fair cards and Legacy is somewhat balanced by their presence, I find 4c/5c good-stuff mirrors to be boring and I miss seeing Death & Taxes and Elves.
I would be very sad if they banned bowmasters, that card is very fun to play with and against; I like the game of chicken with when to cast your cantrips and there's way more thought that goes into it now Beans I'm less attached to, it's a big design mistake but legacy is full of those and it gives control a huge boost in the format
1:03:09 "smoke the whole pack, kid!" JESUS that's funny
Super excited to see miracles start finding a place in the meta again. I loved the counterbalance UW control lists of yesteryear

Love how drawing an extra card gives Brian more serotonin than playing Show and Tell. 27:10
This is the core essence of M:tG when it comes down to it. Drawing cards > winning, every time.
So immersed am I in UW propaganda that I’d argue that in fact: drawing cards = winning. Not simply >

Isn't it the same thing?
Oh I got to the stamp and see the question
Bosh picking up the 'smoke em if you got em' slack while old mate is sleeping off their birthday drinks.
literally exactly what happened
Round 3 game 2 was hilarious, real great showing of an experience control player
"Smoke the whole pack, kid."
That deck out was absolutely amazing. Like watching someone explode from having too high a power level.
Oh my God Bosh, your commentary in round three (the bean mirror) had me in stitches. STRUGGLING to not rat myself out at work by laughing. Damn
Smoke the whole pack kid ROFL! Bosh's casual trash talk is always hilarious.
Round three was the most satisfying Magic I've seen in a while
I LOVE DURTLY CONTROL DECKS HELL YEAH GOOD MORNING
Yeah I like the idea of Narset in the sideboard for bean mirrors. Great video as always!
Finally, a deck to play Predict in other than Dandan
triumph did have a slight errata regarding shenanigans when an opponent takes your triumph. as printed its "when triumph dies, exile it and the top 6 cards of your library", which as written gives the trigger to her controller
"the machines are learning" so subtle & completely hilarious. mate this is why i love ya 😂
round 3 game 2 was MASTERFULLY played.

Almost 2 hours of BoshNRoll playing control, let’s fuckin gooooooooo
Bant on the Bosh and Roll channel? that's an immediate like and comment
Legacy made 180 my opinion about Uro. The bant control piles made me love the card, I just wish the format was more accessible, but me and my friends at least play it wih proxies
Love this deck. If Jeskai is ever a playable home for St Kath, I would be very interested in playing that.
Round 3 opponent so greed I think he is a Hasbro's executive

You're totally right its prob niche but 1 leyline turning BEB into disenchant is pgood even if they have draco out
Been waiting for this since the 5 color video
Wow, that round 3 game 2 was unbelievable :D
I forgot about that old intro music. Twas good
I have been playing this build as well and I agree that the mirror or pseudo mirror is going to be an issue in this deck. I might need to lean on Narset pretty hard in the sideboard for these match ups.
been playing Bant bean 40k miracle recently. I also felt like leyline binding isn't the best
Would it be valid to play a single trihome just for prismatic ending?
I’ve done that in other lists. It’s usually been good.
I had a good showing with the 4c beans deck at an event yesterday though I'm not sure exactly how good Triumph is. Most of the time it feels worse than just sticking a big murktide
What's the rationale behind not playing counterbalance? Yes I am biased, I love counterbalance.
Yeah, I agree, Counterbalance in control seems really good.
I'm not sure Triumph is good but Ponder Beans Beans Triumph was pretty sweet in R1G1
My brand is all about positivity. Fuck Counterbalance
41:00 100% I would have mulled that hand. One Leyline is fine but playing essentially at 4 cards in hand just to kill one of your wincons seems really bad here. Love his name though, Vidar :)
I’m here for the Saint!
Great video, as usual :) I would be interested also to see the decklist of your round 5 opponent - are decks anywhere available? Thanks.
The deck could also run its own counter balances. No DRCs but you're looking to manipulate the top of your library anyway
i am so happy that leyline binding is not here
How bad is a mana confluence for extra colors of prismatic ending?
Triumph of St BEANS!
I don't get why Uro didn't block the Scion of Draco at 1:25:33.
Scion has flying
Ohhhhhhhhh, I read its last ability 5 times trying to find what color was giving it evasion. Turns out I hadn't read the rest of the card. Thanks!
Left in force of Negation against goblins
Where can I get my “Bean Life” bumper sticker?
The predict bauble part doesn’t provide the synergy, is it necessary?
Kath beans bant miracle control. Thats a heck of a long deck name lol
We are eating good today boys
Bantstreet’s Bant baby
Still think the 5/5 body IS really good and better then solitude a lot of Time (against the scion of draco , rhinos etc)
1:20:54 I love the idea of a "hell-bent opponent with a tutu" 🩰💃
Jace, the forgotten miracle ;_;
Love this brew more than I love getting my collection signed by Rebecca Guay (okay, not that much). Hope this list is refined to shit when I get to play with it.
Game 3, they need obstinate familiar.
“Smoke the whole pack, 😂”
Gotta find room in this 75 for saju
My mans complaining r1 21:00 about not having a swords for the emry when 3 turns ago he decided to shuffle cat away instead of solituding it.
I hope not, cause I think watching Elves gets me to go for a walk outside instead of watching ;).
Ah well, guess we are all different luckily.
I would be very sad if they banned bowmasters, that card is very fun to play with and against; I like the game of chicken with when to cast your cantrips and there's way more thought that goes into it now

Renters control!😢
It would be better if Brian and Phil stopped playing the same deck on the same day. 😂
Phil should’ve played a prison deck
