Yes, you get back Poxwalker when you sac it from Cabal Therapy... It's awesome in this deck. Randomly watched this dredge expert guy on TH-cam playing league's and showing how good it is in dredge, he was also on UR only, no rainbow lands.
@7218234 no. I saw the same video. Guys name is literally "The Dredge Guy" on youtube. I've been running his list got the past week since I saw the video. Has an anger in his list so he runs volcs to turn it on. Really helps the match up
2:11 Putting the spell on the stack actually happens first, before costs are paid, but "when you cast a spell" triggers don't fire until after costs are paid, so Poxwalkers should still return after being sacrificed to Therapy.
The sheer amount of deckbuilding that goes into this is amazing. The balance between payoff and engine seems so hard to balance right. Fun to see and complex to pilot it seems!
Round two, game two: it really seemed like the right choice with that opening Otherworldly Gaze was to keep Lion's Eye Diamond on top, draw and play it, and then on your opponent's next end step crack it to flash back Otherworldly Gaze - then you're untapping with two grave-trolls, two bridges, Poxwalkers, and Cabal Therapy in the graveyard at a minimum. It loses to some forms of graveyard hate but seems like a solid way to ensure you can actually go off when you dredge.
hey brian quick tip for something i've noticed you doing the hard way for years; if you click 'dismiss all' after your discard spell resolves while their hand is visible, then once you take a card the cards that are left are then added to the revealed cards and you won't have to click the X on each from the previous reveal
In R1G1, there was a line of land, LED, LED, Breakthrough, and in response crack both LEDs for blue and red and flashback Gaze for the bravest of players :D
2:11 slight correction: The steps of casting a spell start with you putting it on the stack, then (choices, targets, dividing/distributing), determine total cost, (activate mana abilities), pay cost (inc sac poxwalkers), then the final step is the spell becomes "cast" and things that trigger when you cast a spell (like poxwalkers who is already in gy) trigger. In parenthesis are things that normally or at least can be shortcut and / or may not apply
bosh pack smoke em if you got em i thought it said planeswalker dredge and got really excited for a second now i want to put jace tms in a dredge build
Pretty sick that you get 4 trolls over here might need to sink dome play points into legacy- just started the first round and g1 there was a sick yolo line where you cast break through crack your leds and flashback the gaze - no idea if that’s good but it was a line for sure. Look forward to catching the rest.
Love how many people are commenting about the rules for Poxwalker and Cabal Therapy, but don't know that Bosh was a Level 2 Judge for like 10 years. How he explains his thought process is how many judges see a new card, and use their rules knowledge to figure out how things work.
I've seen hogaak in other sideboards of very similar decks, I still don't know when you should play it or if it's a one of for a very specific match up, I can't figure out what kind of match up that would be though
What are your thoughts on the Anger version of this deck? It's harder to hard cast the therapies but the ability to win the turn you go off has been very relevant for me.
17:21 you should name force of will, since if they draw brainstorm they can draw bolt bolt, if you take their force they dont have two cards to put back, so you could have been punished if they played it out
19:14 The Draw, Discard, Dredge (DDD) plan is better here than playing a land; we know the opponent is a standard blue deck now after the Wasteland, so no need to try to out-speed a combo deck.
worth noting that asmo has a cmc of 0 and would die to the EE activation. Opponent is a bit psycho for putting EE in an asmo deck imo. edit: you figured it out lol
As a recommendation for sideboarding and running-out-of-time, simply do the decklist research *during* the game rather than in-between games. You clearly play and research fast enough that it wouldn't be rude to the opponent, yet this would not only give you more time to actually sideboard but also more time to explain your rationale for said sideboarding.
Ok so this video is *not* about planeswalkers, smallpox and 5-color dredge somehow all at once. That makes more sense.
I was kind of hoping for that but I like this aswell
I was a bit sad when I realized too
Had the same thought process. Perhaps a brew challenge is afoot.
Smallpox + Liliana isn't that wild, but 5-color planeswalkers + Smallpox seems pretty tricky.

you mean Thraben University? Unsure if it's just coincidence but he ran UR dredge yesterday

@@eddight4863I believe who you are referring to is MafuzVanGoh?
@@Zen-708yes, and his yt channel is called "The Dredge Guy". He is a very good dredge player, always playing to his outs
@Zen-708 yup this guy, he has anger in the deck to be able to t1... also that Bear
Ah, we now know that Poxwalker is "that boy needs (cabal) therapy" in the song.

That Cabal Therapy/Poxwalker interaction is fucking sick
I still think Sloppity Bilepiper is the best meme name for Cabal Therapy
« I am gonna send a meme therapy and name you are dead » 😂

Finally Warhammer cards on MTGO for:
❌playing in various Legacy decks.
✅naming with Cabal Therapy.
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
I think this is the best version of dredge I’ve seen since i started legacy. I’ve always thought dredge was bad but this looked super solid
"We backdoored that shit"
~me trying not to picture Asmoran taking backshots from a Poxwalker. . .
What a terrible day to be literate
That was not something I expected to read today.
@@4Asphalt4 i am a dementia wizard. My only spell is "Imagine horrors"
The random Austin Powers Fat Bastard quote had me 😂
My favorite funny card to name when I’m playing Thoracle/Spoils combo in modern is Farewell, but only when it resolving will win me the match
The sideboard Dread Return + Ashen Rider is for destroying lands and Marit Lage tokens.

This one is easy to miss, tho because mtgo doesn't represent the card going to the stack first, even tho that's how the rules should work
bosh pack smoke em if you got em i thought it said planeswalker dredge and got really excited for a second now i want to put jace tms in a dredge build
May I petition for a weekend poker video? (At some point, no rush :)
Cabal Therapy stronk, everyone concedes
Was really hoping to see momma bear in the list as well, but I always do love a dredge league!

boshnroll videos - the only reason i wake up this early
I'm so glad you use the good stinkweed imp art
1:03:08 what an absolutely insane game.
I know it was on the list, but I feel you should use the list that has anger in it and the mama bear.
So this might be crazy talk, but how would Chains of Mestopholes look in this build
The way your deck was stacked at the end of round 4 was just tragic.
I've seen hogaak in other sideboards of very similar decks, I still don't know when you should play it or if it's a one of for a very specific match up, I can't figure out what kind of match up that would be though

I know Grief-ing the Breakthrough was the obvious pick but if they'd taken the Bridge, wouldn't have been exiled?

It needs the OG “flayer of the hatebound”
Was the evoke order at 19:30 by your opponent a mistake? Really burned them there since they could've stopped bridge from below if they flipped those
Yeah vs. Dredge you might want to do it backwards from normal sequencing just in case there's a bridge to take.
As a manaless dredge player back in like 2017/18 game two has me thinking this list needs the boomer tech 1 or 2 phantasmagorian
I would name Let the Galaxy Burn with therapy
Video quality is nice today, I can read all the cards from my PC screen.
17:07 Objection! Stinkweed Imp doesn't have deathtouch.
It has what I like to call "legally distinct deathtouch".

What would you call that Asmo deck from round 3?
Isnt poxwalkers also good on a madness hollow one vengevine shell?, i dont see anyone playing that deck
i think it died since anje's ravager just eats it vs bowmaster.
It looks like that's Phil of ThrabenU's deck for today.
What's the dread return switcheroo sideboard for?
worth noting that asmo has a cmc of 0 and would die to the EE activation. Opponent is a bit psycho for putting EE in an asmo deck imo. edit: you figured it out lol
Sup Bosh, hope you’re having a good one!
Wait you can submit 61 in MTG? Why side anything out then, if it doesn't happen to be bad and helps you combo just keep it in.
Obligatory algorithmic contribution
Love dredge!
So why no creeping chills?
What are you cutting for them that makes the deck better?
@BoshNRoll also wouldn't creeping chill instantly trigger your plague walkers?
Chill doesnt trigger poxwalkers its not a cast its a trigger
