A good honest review. Will be looking to get one. Got a Sprint ST 1050 been such a good bike so I will be probably keeping it and have the S1000 as an additional bike.
I've fitted Grip Puppies on my 2022 S1000RR M Sport its made a massive difference - the standard grips are very narrow now much thicker and very comfortable for a £15 upgrade well worth it.
Same bike here. Keep an eye on the weep hole at the back of the oil pan. It may start leaking. If it does bring it in right away. Get the oil/coolant pump in the oil pan fixed. Getting mine back after 2 weeks without it. If it happens you can ride it for awhile If you have to, won’t kill the bike but better to get it fixed asap.
Regarding the heat issue on the ducati v4, yes you are absolutely right, i am still absolutely amazed how they can justify the heat coming from those v4 engines, it is really uncomfortable to ride, unless it 15c out there 😂
I got blister burns (3 degree?) riding my 2023 V4 home going 90 miles an hour. I was wearing jeans. Now I have to wear leather pants just to ride. My 2011 S1000RR never burned me. I rode it everday to work and in 2022 a 18-wheeler made a u turn in front of me. Broke my Leg and totaled the bike. I am sorry I bought the v4 and I am now waiting for my 2024 S1000RR to get to the dealer. Hoping for pick up in Nov.
Very good looking bike, I’m lucky enough to order a base model with manual suspension and should be arriving early April. It’s gonna be my first BMW bike. it’s funny because on all the Facebook pages I go to they all say cruise control, heated grips and automatic suspension is a must but personally I think I just don’t need them at all
i am waiting for mine with black forks and i don’t know that have the same forks of the M model…mine is essentially base model and have the same forks of the M version???wow
What is the big problem with electronic suspension ? Don't buy a cover for the exhaust just change the exhaust. Try glue B gone to remove the reflector glue
Its a gimmick, it sounds fantastic coming from the salesman but in reality it doesnt have proper high speed damping abilty of conventional forks. The Ohlins electronic forks are better than the marzocci for damping control.
How tall are you? Was thinking of getting this I'm 6 feet 5 and 18 stone. Are you comfortable on the bike or would you buy different foot pegs or just adjust the current.
Im 6 foot 4 and 15 stone without kit. I find the bike very comfortable position wise. But, you are going to need to uprate the springs for your weight. The stock springs are for 85kg kitted rider! Ive just done mine along with a few other mods so will make a follow up video shortly.
@jojiannsantos215 The forget wheels are nicer and also they run thicker disc's which is better for performance. The only downside is cost and future costs of replacement discs
Not comfortable at all. But the suspension absorbs the bumps better than the ddc on the bmw. The r1 midrange is insain. My rsv4 1100 has about the same midrange as my old mapped r1 but with more peak power
@@robertmulholland7319 you'd have to try a demostrator to make your own mind up but considering you are coming from one of the torquiest bikes around your really gonna notice the lack of grunt in the bmw
I listen every second of your video but is not clear for me the torque of this bike with this variable timing(shift cam). i have traded my Ducati PanigaleV4 2022 at BMW dealer but i am waiting a new S1000RR black. When you say that you had an R1 2017(me too) and you fell that you can not pass the other car like an R1 because have a less torque i am corious to know if you fell like many test ride that this bmw have anyway great torque thanks to shift cam. The Panigale V4 have a great torque and i am so sad if bmw s1000rr works like a typical 4 in line cylinders or you can fell good torque since low rpm to high rpm like all say in the test
The s1000rr needs a full exhaust system and a reflash to release the full torque in the lower gears. After your two bikes I feel like you are going to be very disapointed im sorry to say. The spec sheets is what sells bikes and on paper the bmw is great. But in reality they are not that fun to ride on the road with the lack of torque in the lower revs. If you want a nice pleasant ride then they are ok, but if you wanna ride hard on the road forget it. You need torque for the road but not so much for the track so these are very fast on track all be it the suspension lets them down
so you are saying that the bmw have no good torque at low and medium rpm? compared to a typical 4 cylinder does it have the same low torque at low rpm?
@@Carl4Ride as standard the lower 3rd of rev range has less torque than most 1000cc bikes, including the s1000R, the middle 3rd has strong power and the top 3rd is great. It seems to be better in top gear so ecu flash is needed to help. But to be honest the ducati v4 is the best engine of them all in my opinion. Mental high rpm with a good spread of torque
@@Yamaprilia so basically you only feel the lack of torque in third gear due to a delivery problem given by the control unit of this 2023 version of the bike? mw is interested in the fact that if I want to get out of curves I don't feel empty like a ninja or a cbr which notoriously have very little torque underneath
@@Carl4Ride sorry you miss understand, the lower third of the rev range has low torque, especially in gears 1 to 4. Gear 5 and 6 seem to be better but you need ecu reflash to allow full torque in all gears
Please people before you fall for the allure of a BMW, ride a unrestricted ZX-10-RR and take a few highway sweepers at 165-mph!!! I feels like sport bike Heaven!!!
@a20rsx they are very good the rad and oil cooler surround has the mouldings ready for them. Take off the fairing remove the plastic rad surround just clip them in refit fairing really simple job. 😉👍
The brake lights are built into the indicators and they are actually pretty bright! It makes it alot easier to just remove the rear as one for a track day

Ooh, I will look out for that, thanks for letting me know
I have the same bike same colour absolutely luv it got the carbon pack thou looks amazing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Bro does it have cruise control
Damn. I think you sold me on getting one 😎🍻
Love black bikes!
great bike! same i would get it without the electronic suspension i only do track
With a full exhaust and a tune, it will eat your R1 up. Rad/oil cooler guards are a must asap. Cheers.
Doubt that
@@allnighteristI doubt that to.
You don't need tune to eat R1 with S1k.. it has more HP and less weight... and 100 other better stuff then r1...
My three riding buddies with R1's and one with a R1M said the same thing. They're no longer doubtful.
Regarding the heat issue on the ducati v4, yes you are absolutely right, i am still absolutely amazed how they can justify the heat coming from those v4 engines, it is really uncomfortable to ride, unless it 15c out there 😂

Bmw cruise control is amazing and the best of them all.
I used mine quite alot.
But the bike was boring so I sold it now
thanks bro.
8:04 it's a placeholder for the phone.
Buzzing/vibrations ? I have no idea what that feels like? It just never happens on a Kawasaki ZX-10-RR
Was there not a single view of the kickstand side of the bike in a 30 minute video? 3/4 walkaround
i am waiting for mine with black forks and i don’t know that have the same forks of the M model…mine is essentially base model and have the same forks of the M version???wow
Yes but ive since noticed the rear shock and linkage is different
What make is your clutch cover? I like it in full black without any logos
That is the standard colour on the 2023 bikes! Its alot better isnt it?
Spot on, i ordered mine yesterday (black also) and was looking for some covers as I assumed they would have the gold casing. Thats saved me a few quid
Take a look at brentune stage 1 mapping. Its 💰
Bro have it quick sifter and cruse control
Please reply ❤
It has quick shifter, auto blipper and cruise control yes
20:21 sold separately, sad but true.

Being 6'4 and 100kg trying to decide between this and the S1000r. Have your tried to compare the two before deciding?
Yes, i rode all of them.
Personally i found the R boring.
Your simular size to me so be prepared to buy new fork springs if you go bmw
If i want to change the rear no. Plate holder with previous model 2020
Is it possible?
I am unsure, sorry
tst industries do both low and high mounts for the 2020 s1000rr
Had a question does it have cruise control
