sorry to hear about your experience, i love my ‘23, day and night difference between my former 2018. They really made the bike for track use and maximum propulsion, it’s just too bloody fast for street.. congrats on the new bike.
The S1000RR needs a chip tune because it is criminally electronically restricted in the lower gears, particularly second. For example, in second gear, HP is down 50HP in the mid range vs the same bike with an ECU tune.
Lol I too road tested the s1000rr and I agree it can't pull the skin of rice pudding😂 It felt like a 600cc compared to my rsv4 1100,Sooooo glad I kept my RSV which is also on a 22 plate.its such a animal, you run out of road b4 throttle 😂😂😂
Too bad the apilia’s overheat - get stuck at a long light and just watch - even when the fans start, temps keep climbing until it flashes on the dash as a warning to shut it down. 68 pages on the aprilia forum about it
I havnt experienced this on my 2022 yet but I did experience heat issues on a 2018 rsv4 when on a test ride. The issue is the rear cylinders are enclosed so build up heat faster than the ducati. But the ducati is unbarable to ride in the hot weather because of its lack of heat protection for the rider
My friend has this bike, nothing but problems. Overheats and it burns oil. He has to add oil every 1000 miles per the dealership. They don’t kno how to fix the issue. I’ll never buy one
What! Did you get a US model. Lol. Sucks you got a lemon persay. But man the the bmw's are crazy after a flash and tune! I've owned two now. Can't go wrong with the RSV4 either.
Im sure a flash would make them better. But in my heart I always felt that the high revving inline 4 would have some sacrafices elsewhere in the rev range. The v4 doesnt seem to have any sacrafices. Its just power everywhere.
@a20rsx no doubt. But that's what the shiftcam is for. On paper the the torque is 83 or 84 ft lbs on the S1k and probly like what, low 90's on the RSV4.
@@cycle_Therapy shift can is to increase midrange of which it does very well. But low rpm torque is non existant on the s1000rr, the rsv4 on the other hand is a monster from any revs
@a20rsx I disagree my 23 S1K feels super strong down low. Especially after a flash and stage 2 tune. Can't keep the front end down without wheelie control. I know your probably thinking I'm a beamer fan boy. But I've ridden and owned loads of bikes over 25 years of riding. From 600rr to ZX12R. I'm not knocking that RSV4 at all. I know they are absolute monsters and are stronger than the S1K's no doubt, but for me they are a very close second. At least the two k67's I've owned. At some point, you gotta find a mate with a tuned S1K and give them another chance. Cheers 🍻

@@lg740xx true, but these gen4 s1000rr seem to have alot of issues. Theres so many posts on facebook about the many faults, alot of them are due to build quality and machining tollerance which is unlike most german vehicles
The S1K absolutely NEEDS a map to unlock the bike. I dont know anyone who keeps it stock. Leaving it stock is like buying a new TV, keeping the plastic film on the screen, and complaining how terrible the screen performance is. Unlocked, the S1K shis all over every bike in his garage and all over that Aprillia and every other liter bike in its class.
Ay, I have a BMW S1000rr (2022), I think it looks better than the 23. And a Ducati Panigale v2. And I enjoy the BMW in colder rides with the heated grips and cool gadgets. But the Panigale really just have that personality. RSV4 was a good choice and is a beautiful bike too.
For the road just buy a KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas Supermoto. 693cc single cylinder grunt. Pulls out of corners and traffic lights nicely. Wheelies, endos, skids, jumping speed bumbs, riding up and down stairs... any silly sh!t you want to do, it does.❤ And it's fast enough to pass traffic and easily brake all the speed limits. I test rode a 23 S1000RR recently and was shocked at how underwhelming it was. Poor grunt, terrible muffled sound, lacked grin factor. Around the racetrack they are brilliant, so easy. But as a road bike, very disappointing stock I found. Congrats on the new bike. I'm looking fwd to see how you get on with it as the RSV is on my shortlist for my next bike.
You are so right! Perfect around the track but boring on the road in comparisson to others. Thanks for your comment. I will try make a new im depth review of the rsv4 soon.
Strange i have always felt that the bmws.pull from.as low as 28mph in 6th gear a r1 and a ktm need to be in 2nd.. who buys a 1000cc sports bike to ride at 4000 rpm ? You cant really have power low down and up top this is why shift cam was designed to give best of both worlds.
I agree it will pull top gear from low rpms and that is only possible because it has low torque at low rpms. Bikes with high torque at low rpms shudder and shake the chain like crazy. If you ride on the road in the UK you will find you are at 4000 rpm or less very often. Every time you go to pull away at every junction, petrol station, bike shop etc.... High torque at all rpms along with high bhp and high revs too. V4 is the way.
The S1000RR (2023) does indeed pull in sixth because the electronic restrictions are pretty much off in sixth. They are worst in second and decrease as you move up gears.
@a20rsx your right not at 4000 rpm down to about 6000rpm and she flies. You can not have power low down and at the top of a rev range its impossible but to say the s1000rr is worse than any other bike 1000cc 4 cylinder is plain ridiculous.
I have the exact same bike and love it. I don't have the wobbly mirrors so I guess something is loose. I do find the quick shifter to be a bit clunky is yours as everyone says they are silky smooth.
