oh you mean the Smash Up rip off WOTC came out with? The one where all the set focused ones are utterly devoid of any financial value? (the 2020 and 2022 ones being great though). The ones that are NOT 8 decks for 35 bucks PLUS special foil cards? should I go on?
And the game night boxes? The ones that are 50 bucks for only five decks? Roughly half the value?
And the dual starter decks? which a shell of weak cards and nothing like duel decks of old? Which even those weren't as good as this thing?
No. No. I've seen tons of awesome and affordable yugioh products come out over the years. And compared to what we get in magic? It's tragic. WE DONT EVEN GET TINS! TINS! Pokemon and magic get tins! bundles are made of weak cardboard! they're even worse than they were years ago. now we dont even get 80 lands! we DO get a pretty spindown but that really doesn't compare to this battle city box!

I'm curious why Konami hasn't printed a literal "box of tokens" box, containing tokens that match the cards that call for tokens to be made when condition met.

I love these type of duels. Get a box with decks already made, it's anyones game, and I can practically relive the 2000s experience. I just wish I had friends to play with today, for old times sake.

Would be cool to see you guys do a big speed duel house tournament. Just use the cards you already have from the speed duel boxes you have opened for a much larger pool of cards. Would let Alec build a janky red eyes deck!
Also- I know you guys don’t usually do constructed games but the speed duel card pool is small enough and nostalgicy enough that I think people would find it interesting. Also, no one seems to do paper constructed games of speed duel on TH-cam :’(

DDM is hella expensive nowadays sadly. Would be awesome to see tho if the team can find it for a good price or print some proxies. I have some DDM stuff and ofc you can play it on Tabletop Simulator too. It's an amazing underappreciated gem!
It was hella expensive when it came out! Hence why the nerds in my middle school got into Heroscape instead.

All the creative ways you guys find to play, like Rare Hunters, makes me wish yugioh had multiple formats like magic. I used to love yugioh as a kid, but it feels so limited and quick now.
better to have quick games than boring drawn out snoozefests of doing nothing but turn set a card and pass 30+ times over...

I don't play speed duel format but I do have a bunch of 25 card anime decks to do the same thing. I'm almost done with gx decks and I'm gonna start building 5ds decks next.
whether it would've mattered or not I'm not sure...but when Trell summoned Fortress Whale in game 2, technically I don't believe he could've done that, since Fortress Whale's Oath reads tribute monsters whose levels equal 7 or more...but due to Legendary Ocean the monsters he used equaled 5 not seven because it doesn't read ORIGINAL levels in the card text...Yugioh, where you take cards very literally XD

Good, so I'm not the only one that noticed that mistake :)
Legendary Ocean seems quite anti-synergic with Fortress Whale, since it basically lowers too much the levels of the tributes compared the Whale's level
I understand why it's used but in this sense yeah...unless it read original level that'd be different but unfortunately that's not the case lol@@beppe1922

This is a really cool product! The power level of these decks seem juuust right for what they're aiming at, and the skills are surprisingly involved.
Mind Crush changed it so if they call a illigol or a banned card you dont have to show your hand, but if they call a legal card you CAN have? you have to show your hand ...

So what is the difference between this box and the other Battle City box that came before? Also are Speed Duel boosters necessary?
What are the best prebuilt speed duel starter/structure decks? Like the ones with the most op combos and likelihood to win?
Just a doubt in Trell's play with the Umi deck:
Legendary Ocean lowers the level of all Water monsters by 1, right?
Fortress Whale's level was lowered by 1 by Legendary Ocean, dropping from 7 to 6, also the levels of both maiden of the aqua and the fish on his field (which were insect-type at that moment, but still Water attribute) should have been 1 lower (4 to 3 for maiden and 3 to 2 for the fish), making it a total of 5, so by this reasoning he shouldn't have been able to ritual summon, or am I wrong?

I watched Duelist Kingdom and Battle City as a kid, loved it. Still got my Anime Decks for the Mainchars of these seasons. Love to play it with the old rules. Nice vid ! Dont like the speed duel format dat much but a nice way to get some old expensive cards for anime decks. Yeah iam a yugiohboomer and proud ^^

I love using voltage Kong. I have a lot of light monsters and usually attack with voltage kong and no other monsters unless it's not strong enough and I try to finish my opponent's deck with voltage kong and card destruction

Honestly it would’ve been interesting to see the antagonists like weevil/Rex/mako/espa go up against the rare hunters in battle city. There’s no reason the rare hunters wouldn’t target regional champs or players who have been winning throughout the tournament
How about a tag duel of Crystal Beast Structure paired with Cyberdark Structure since they'd work well together with Rainbow Dragon being used for Cyberdark Dragon vs Darkworld paired with the Sacred Beasts decks since they were the fiendish cards used in GX

Bros, so hyped for this! Anime had a lot of faults and dumb moments but younger me was so invested in it lol. Always left me wondering how they would win lol. Love yalls videos as always! Adding the boss monster animations in was a nice touch!
I always though it was because they just change the card effect a lot more in early yugioh they still do it now but it just match more or had a weaker version of it anime effect

Fortress Whale under Umi is Level 6. Needle Sunfish is Level 2. Aqua Maiden Level 3.
Needless to say, not enough tributes.
I dont have any issues with any of these takes.
Hearing the names union carrier, needle fiber, and linkross was scary tho.
Maxx C is fine in my opinion, and for tear deck i think the ishizu stuff was the issue. Just overwhelming interactions having 10+ chainlinks on both players turns

30:00 Doesn't Slifer's effect state "When Normal Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated", so Paul wouldn't be able to activate the trap card to destroy it?
It was summoned several turns prior to that.
It just means there's effectively no summon response window on it's normal summon, not that your opponent can never activate anything ever again.
@@RunicSigils Oh, I see. It says "This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated." in a separate sentence, so I thought it had no reason for it to repeat the same thing twice. Thanks!

When Paul attacked Trell directly with Insect Queen, he shouldn’t have been able to cuz the effect where it can attack directly when all monsters on field are insects only applies to face up monsters. Since trell had a facedown defense, Paul shouldn’t have been able to attack directly
