I feel that a cool tournament arc you guys could do would be "Schoolyard League" everyone starts off with a starter deck and slowly add cards from mystery boxes or ante cards. Would be a cool combo of rare hunters and these kinda eBay videos!
An idea for if it happens in the future: Have the camera handler open the ones showing and separate them, then place all four face down and switch the decks around while no one knows, that way it truly is random. Also great vid!
I've been binge watching the tournaments of Team APS and I conclude that Trell and Paul: the competitive guys Alec: the one who always acts like he's in the anime Larry: Laid back fun-loving guy hope you guys do more of these! more power to you from the philippines!
Honestly tournament videos are my favourite just wish they played with more modern decks sometimes like just once in awhile bust out their personal current decks and have a house tourney
Always a joy watching Team APS, my son and I recently finished all the videos in the Rare Hunters series together and he was happy to see this uploaded!
How did Larry get the coolest Archetype as the last pick, anyway my bet is on Larry, first turn light statue ftw. Seeing these have fun restores my faith in humanity
watching because of the cross over with the Professor. As a magic player seeing the amount of turn 1 tutor effects is insane. I now understand why meta matches end within 2 rounds. The Consistency is OP.
honestly my fave "tournament ready" deck I've encountered on ebay was Skull Servant-- mostly because it was 3 of everything but ZERO copies of King of Skull Servants.
3:20 I actually have a Starry Night deck . I bought it because I wanted a non-meta deck for casual games with friends. The deck is very, very pretty but also equally bad I have to sadly say. The fact that the dragon can't be destroyed by Darks can lead to funny moments though because people tend to forget that
38:40 - wanted to say that Baxia spins to the deck, not hand, but then noticed Paul was shuffling his deck, so you clearly picked up on that :D That was a great game btw, I think the only misplay from Trell's side was not summoning Mare Mare with the Shaman. The tokens would count as non-effect monsters, so you'd have monsters, be able to synchro AND still use the White stone.
My fav match by far was Paul vs Trell, that was such a good game, please do more of these with pre built pure decks like this,it is so much fun seeing decks being played pure without staples
As a big fan of Yu-Gi-Oh I loved this video, I be trying to gather my friends up to duel but its kinda hard to find fellow duelists these days ... love the video and you guys content.
I started out mostly not even knowing or really caring all that much about YGO (as someone who grew up playing Magic), but you guys are definitely having some fun with it and make it something worth watching and kinda grasping things as they go. Keep it up!
That was very fun to watch! My fave moment was probably watching the whole Armed Dragon Thunder summoning line. I played them years back and always had so much trouble getting Lv. 10 on the board so it was nice to see how the Thunder series made it so much easier.
You guys inspired me to create yugioh decks with the most abysmal cards possible. Very fun, recommend. Always enjoy this content especially since Larry is already regretting his decision to come 1:00
17:25 U.A. Hyper Stadium only adds monsters from the deck and the field spell from the GY. Other than that I gotta say I love this vid, such a cool idea!
I didn’t know a lot about these archetypes as a somewhat recent returnee, but Tenyis do seem pretty cool. I think keeping these “tournament ready” decks confined to playing against each other seems like a great and fun idea, and even though they lack the obvious strong hand traps and other general staples they didn’t seem like completely awful decks lol
@@kaiser9109 Nice. I utilize a few more Level 7 Light Dragons like Pendulumgraph, Arkbrave, and the original Seiyaryu just for a bit of extra utility and potentially open up Rank 7 plays ^__^. Blue Eyes sounds kinda fun!
Idk about any lore, but Starry Knight is pretty slow, so the Barrier Statue helps you slow the game down In the OCG Sample Deck list for this deck, it featured Ties of the Brethren with Light Statue, which means Konami probably knew about this specific interaction when designing the deck
I’m a starry knight player myself and one of my main strategies is to use ties of the brethren on one of my fairy monsters then summon barrier statue and honest then add honest to my hand to lock out my opponent
Really enjoyed this video. I actually play Starry Knights, Armed Dragon and Tenyi so it was cool to see them played by other folks in their pure forms. Things like this really make me wish Konami would take some of these cheap archetypes and make a box of four built to play against each other decks to have a little tabletop Yugioh game to play with friends.
If I was given the choice to spend a day with a youtuber(s) Team APS would be really high on my list. Duels like these are so fun to watch, y'alls personalities are really cool, and I would l love to be on one side of that dueling table!
Starty knight are awesome in Duel Links! They have great synergy and are much faster/more flexible than most decks. They can avoid or get past so much of what they may deal with in the game with little negative repercussion and can OTK easily.
Starry knight has so much that can dearch and special summon yhe dragon. If you play it right you wont have to worry about getting the feild draw on hust your turn. It really would be a draw of two cards to your hand each time if not otherwise restricted this way, plus you get to pop someone every time a the dragon hits field. You also gave great search synergy. Not only is there a spell that gets any of the monsters directly to hand but a monster that gets amd spell/trap to hand and monsters that get other monsters from field/grave to hand. Play fluidly and the draw is just a bonus. You really wont NEED it as much as just benefit more from it.
My favorite deck is Starry Nights!! (It was probably me playing you on duel links because that’s my competitive deck on that game!! I’m a Christian & therefore I love the lore & story of the starry nights!! So yes there is a player that plays the deck:)
Alec was so defeated, but if he banished penalty box, he could have attempted to put up a fight by searching a UA. Also, game 2 he can't search stadium, but only retrieve it from grave with hyper stadium.
imo this is where ygo is at its funnest. Maybe for the future you guys can also make use of the Master Duel custom lobbies having access to the different banlists of their events for videos. See what concoctions the guys can come up with.
I love the challenge videos like this. Hope to see some creative ocg tounament like a hungry burger deck vs relinquished, rituals vs fusions, you can only use those really crappy fusions from ocg like rock king? I think that was the name. Idk, i just love aps videos.
I'm really surprised how well the decks performed :D, but I really need to know where you got your dices from. I've also looked at your old videos and I just need these dices im in love xD :x anyways exciting video keep it up!
Armed dragon thunders is what ive been using for past yr or so on MD, to the point where i recreated it IRL. Was my top one until i made my red-eyes deck. still waiting for the 2-3 new red-eyes cards to come to MD.
I mean, that Athlete deck sounded interesting on paper, but that Starry Knight deck was more consistent. Overall, these Amazon "tournament ready" decks weren't half bad
How to do multiplayer rock paper scissors. 1. If everyone picks something different it's a tie and the round is redone. 2. When everyone plays only 2 options ( rock and scissors, rock and paper, and scissors and paper) whoever has the losing option is out. If only one person remains they win. 3. Repeat until there's one person left.
The belt's a nice addition. It adds healthy competition while encouraging good sportsmanship. Bad sportsmanship is one reason why people stop playing some card games in general, after all card games are just card games.

It was inspired by the 4 way duel in the battle city finals to decide who duels who
Poor Alec in that first game. Oof
Anime OP 4.
Trell being Marik is appropriate
The 4th opening Warriors!
I feel that a cool tournament arc you guys could do would be "Schoolyard League" everyone starts off with a starter deck and slowly add cards from mystery boxes or ante cards. Would be a cool combo of rare hunters and these kinda eBay videos!

They could even do like a "saving lunch money" budget
Agreed I think it would also be a good idea
@@tjjohnson4397 Yeah so the budget for adding cards is like $5-$10 bucks, that would be funny

Alec: My deck can pretty much special summon itself onto the field!
*Turn 1 barrier* What a start!
Larry: "why you staring directly at the camera?"
Alec: "so they can see my pain"
🤣

they could even have 1 person unpack and randomize, then a second person shuffle them again and nobody knows what deck is what
1:11:15 Trell’s reaction when Alec dropped the cards was my exact same reaction as well… 🤣🤣
I've been binge watching the tournaments of Team APS and I conclude that

Who loves team aps? They could do a tournament with any deck lol
I was just thinking the same thing. Very wholesome and informative and fun.
I LOVE TEAM APS! They make any style of play fun
I wanna see them play a tourney of awfulness, with decks made by Chris and Trell.
Yeah lol

Handtraps is also a big part of it, instant spells basically that have no cost like mana, and a ton of them are basically free counterspells
Just wait until you see a match of Pokemon TCG. You can literally cycle your whole deck for whatever you want
I like watching the whole crew do deck tournaments using random decks off eBay.

Could y’all do a 5D’s themed tournament where y’all build a deck according to a characters archetype and using their boss monster?
Team APS always makes my day better when an upload goes up! Keep it up, love these long group tournament videos

Pure archetypes is the way YGO is meant to be played to have fun and for the decks to ACTUALLY have a semblance of playstyle/personality
EXACTLY. if an archetype can't stand by itself then it isn't good.
Decks are meant to be pure archetypes. Otherwise it's a congelead mess
