  • This is a tutorial showing you how to change the workplane size to match the print bed size on your 3D printer. It is important when making a 3D design that it will actually be able to fit and print correctly. In addition to changing workplane size, I will also show you how to change the snap value so you can be as precise as you need to be with the dimensions of your design!

Is there a way to add a second workplane without it being orange and it actually functions?

Is there a way to change the workplane to a new default size so that I don't have Edit Grid each time I start a new project?

Great question and to put it simple, unfortunately not :( This is something that a lot of people request Tinkercad add as it would be beneficial for both personal and educational uses. For now it looks like you would have to keep changing the workplane size to the specific measurements you want each time you start a new project. If they change this, I will definitely post an update!

@@quicktechtutorials7289 When I first started using TinkerCad, I searched for a way to make the background a dark grey instead of white but all I found was a link that suggested the application was no longer being developed and I was left with a sense of, "Well this is as good as its going to get." If this isn't true, is there a forum or something similar where I can view upcoming changes and/or requests?

I apologize for the sound! This is one of my earlier videos so the editing wasn't the best lol. Appreciate the compliment though!
