There was a song that was uploaded to Myspace sometime around 2000-2004. I can't seem to remember the name of it or any of the tunes but I loved that song. Any idea what song I'm thinking about? I know it's a long shot but that was one of those songs that spoke to you and I think was very emotional.
You'll never see this comment but I thank God constantly for my first boyfriend introducing me to you. Growing up in the last ten years with your music behind me has been so uplifting. This song especially is everything. You make any single person really feel the top emotion ever. I cant give enough appreciation to you honestly. Just thank you. Literally. Thank you.
You are the bottomless, aging fine wine that surprises us year by year with new subtle flavors mixed with nostalgia of the times when you first gifted us with your 1st solo album. Tyvm for all that you have done to better us fans' lives. Truly.
I am literally in tears listening to this. This music is timeless and will always be intertwined with my soul. Legendary and always incredible. One of my favorite humans on this earth. ❤️
Doesn’t it, my son shared it with me, he hates how I then have to play it a million times over. Just can’t help it. Everything about it hits the soul ❤
I can't listen to it anymore. I heard it and couldn't believe how it related to me and my mom who was faltering over the past 3 years and eventually passed away. Such a gripping song for some of us in different ways. I'm a man of steel but cry when I hear this.
It's interesting you say that about being a lifeline, because it's almost as if my life has been completely in line with what each record had as a sort of underlying theme. Like he wrote it directly for my life at each point (if that makes sense?). Of course, it's all about perception and what we can take from it and that's what matters and I'm happy for him that he's been a solid artist from the beginning.
“Emotional lifeline” Dude I love that! That’s exactly what he’s been for me as well. Especially his latest album, it’s helping me through so much grief and emotional pain.
Abandoned and lamenting The waisted days we spent running from ourselves Aimlessly rambling But hey man, at least we’ve got our health Oh, but it ain’t enough just to be alive We gotta lean into the love a little before we die So tell me what you need You bring me to my knees And I’m tired of running I’m tired of moving life around How do we deal with this? Treat each day as the gift it is I don’t want to be running Until I’m underground So let’s just forget The unforgiving presence of death And live wild and free Godless or not You can’t let the fear control your body Like a great Canadian darkness I will cover you Nothing will harm us I will protect you So tell me what you need You bring me to my knees And I’m tired of running I’m tired of moving life around How do we deal with this? Treat each day as the gift it is I don’t want to be running Until I’m underground
So much talent in this man, Dallas never ceases to amaze me with his beautiful song writing ability. This song is beautiful, the tempo, the melodies and that chorus, every thing just fits together so perfectly. I had the privilege of meeting him, on the street near where he was playing a gig that evening, we're exchanging life experiences and talking about my problems with drugs and I asked him if he could play Hello, I'm in Delaware and he played it aswell, like here I am stood talking to Dallas Green and he's playing one of my favourite songs, it was such an unforgettable moment in my life, Dallas was an absolute gentleman. Your music continues to inspire me and I'll be forever greatful to you for that, Dallas.
I found "Underground" as an "ad" on TH-cam. It's the first ad that brought tears to my eyes. I look forward to hearing and learning more about City and Colour. What a voice.
It really was man, I was on crew as the Playback Operator and I can tell you it's gonna be great! And planes and helicopters were landing and taking off as we shot.
Don't matter if it's one week, one year, or one decade. We will always be here waiting for your music, Dallas. I hope you come back soon to Argentina. Love you, man.
that falsetto at 2:11 sent chills right up my entire body. what an amazing song... the lyrics are incredible. your eyes are showing the emotion and pain and love you're feeling when you sing - so much so that i feel it alongside you. thank you for sharing your gift and life with us.
This is definitely one of the best songs that were ever written and with far less days ahead of me than I have behind me now I should know what I'm saying
Extremely looking forward to this album. Dallas, you have sang for my soul for almost two decades now. I can’t express the turmoils you have gotten me through. Hoping you make your way to Boise for a show at some point, but either way, so grateful for you and your music.
Can you explain the presence & importance of the guy hanging out by the car? He’s in most shots but he’s just chilling lol (dressed like a pimp which is slightly out of place)
Utterly sensational positive song: just love it. Such a good song: Can you imagine Dallas Green singing with Chris Stapleton....? 2 of the best vocalists on the planet...
Get the new album "The Love Still Held Me Near" at cityandcolour.com ✌
@ 2:32 Dallas switches it up a little and goes left-handed for a couple of bars?

Dallas has helped me and my wife through a lot , every song is meaningful. Our 2nd oldest son is named after him 💙
My fiance and I might use this as a first dance song - does anyone else see that? It's breathtaking and uplifting.
That sounds super cool! City and Colour is always such a great band for any sort of emotional event.
❤❤ I love it.
Also check out the album he did with Pink, You and Me. Some great tunes on there as well!

Best song OF 2023 in my opinion: sad, wistful,AND breathtakinglly gorgeous: Ol' Dallas knocked 'er outta the park on this one... 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Brilliant. ❤
Jesus...
That man's voice is a musical instrument.
Just nuts...
Dude, how can there be a song like this? It just connects to the soul... 🎈

One of the greatest experiences of my life being able to work w/ this crew & band. So excited to see the video!

Escutei essa música hoje na Antena 1, e aqui no TH-cam já perdi a conta.
Maravilhoso esse som, parabéns a banda ❤
Love the bassline on this track.
Serves the song perfectly, no party tricks.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
Erik Nielsen is the man's name!
I’m convinced no matter what song is released by city and colour it is nothing short of amazing. This band could not be any better than they are!
I'm so pumped for another album and another tour. Dallas' songs have been an emotional lifeline for me at many points in my life.

Abandoned and lamenting
The waisted days we spent running from ourselves
Aimlessly rambling
But hey man, at least we’ve got our health
Oh, but it ain’t enough just to be alive
We gotta lean into the love a little before we die
So tell me what you need
You bring me to my knees
And I’m tired of running

How do we deal with this?
Treat each day as the gift it is
I don’t want to be running
Until I’m underground
So let’s just forget
The unforgiving presence of death
And live wild and free
Godless or not
You can’t let the fear control your body
Like a great Canadian darkness
I will cover you
Nothing will harm us
I will protect you
So tell me what you need
You bring me to my knees
And I’m tired of running
I’m tired of moving life around
How do we deal with this?
Treat each day as the gift it is
I don’t want to be running
Until I’m underground
It was a great pleasure working with city and color. The experience I had was awesome this video feature my 1980 Ford Mustang, swift edition.

So stoked. Gives me a young lovers vibe
Had us from for “it ain’t enough just to be alive”. Simple, all of us want more. Diving deeper. This song brings it all! 👌🏻

I know right? I find myself coming back to his newest stuff on a daily basis. I'm fucking blown away at how well done this is.
But rest of album is a bit less mainstream. Thank god!
