No lame background music ✔️ Straight and to the point ✔️ Realistic and non hype based ✔️ Clear presentation of advice ✔️ You already have a ton of the larger HSR video makers beat man. Great video. I feel like I got hyped into pulling Sparkle even though I lost my 50/50 first time around so it took a ton of pulls. Now that she’s built I don’t even use her much. This was because I veered of the path I had set which was to full clear the end game modes. Trying to be smart with pulls I went from only being able to clear up to around MoC 6 in December to clearing up to 10-11 recently. I focused heavily on DoT and follow up atk teams. While I can use Sparkle in the future, she’s really not benefitting me at the moment except in my Argenti team which was already performing fine (though I did get e6 QQ in the process and am excited to build her). I think the bigger HSR channels are basically just advertising vehicles for Hoyo now. Every unit is “bRoKeN”, the tier lists change so fast that FOMO is guaranteed and they are helping pad Hoyo money coffers more than helping players. It’s very refreshing to see a video like yours that can actually help people.
staying consistent is great advice! i've been struggling with keeping one steady goal now that i have so many characters in comfortable spots with their traces and relics. i've been working on passion projects like xueyi and march 7th, but recently shifted my attention to prefarming for aventurine.
Xueyi is definitely worth it! I cannot count how much time and energy I spent farming her stuff. She's so darn expensive to build. At the end, I must say that she's extremely fun to play as HYPER Carry. She's the character I used to defeat Gold and Gears V for the first time! ^^
@@keidara8327 damn. i mean i know hoyo wouldn't purposefully release a useless character, but i figured xueyi was bad / not worth using or building at all, not sure why i held that opinion but now i want to build her :O i was thinking about building her for pure fiction because i only have like 3-4 follow up attack characters so ill try her out
This actually sounds like my lecture classes but about hsr. Even the mic. If only i could pay attention to my lecture like this.😂 It's soo informative. Instant sub.
This was really helpful. I especially appreciate how you gave 'permission' to set whatever kind of goals we want; it doesn't have to be the hype endgame content. I have a lot of characters I enjoy playing but I struggle to put together teams that actually work coherently, and while I enjoy pulling new characters it's hard to decide what to prioritize or who I could actually use. Clearly I struggle with choosing how to focus. The leaky roof analogy made so much sense to me. I even took a notepad and wrote it down!
Never hesitate to ask around in various character guide videos or, if you use Discord, ask in HSR servers! Not all answers or "info" you get will be 100% accurate, but getting a general idea is always a nice starting point. Meta is also great for people who care about that, but as long as your teams are cohesive, you can clear. Example: I did a re-clear of the first MoC12's second half with Xueyi and Sushang for giggles, which is not even close to meta lol
Great video! i would love to see a relic farming guide next. I have a hard time deciding what relics to roll, what relics to salvage so i would love to see your way of choosing relics.
I’d look up videos explaining how to better predict and garunteed good rolls! There’s some guides out there explaining it’s not entirely random and has charts showing and explaining the numbers and what days to pull.
As someone who has been building… 15-20 characters at once since I started, this is some good advice. Just now got them all to 8/10 on relevant traces, all ascended to 70/80, and almost all decent LC’s… Now I can actually, finally, start relics and make them useful. Think I’ll focus on certain characters now.
This has been my pain too, I was very focused in completing a character at time in Genshin, I feel like my account there is very healthy, but in HSR I was just pulling every banner and building whoever came home kind of at random. I actually have several very good teams in terms of characters but very few of them are built in a focused enough way and it's led to a bunch of people with terrible relics.
He somehow saved my account from being really unoptimized again. Idk how he does it but these videos are great btw. What I took away: - Just work with the characters you have right now for the 2 teams (and if there’s a character that does a job better in one of your teams, then I can consider switching) - Build one character at a time even if it’ll only take like half a day of stamina
This is probably something I needed to hear. Thank you so much. I sometimes felt like I easily lose track of what I actually want to do with my account. That's probably why my Genshin account was all over the place with characters. My Star Rail account has a lot of characters I can use, but I don't want to go over the same thing that my Genshin account went through. I need to take some decisions in terms of what I need and don't really need
U are so real for saying everything at the beginning instead of dragging it out till the end. In fact saying that kept my attention on the video more than it would otherwise
Great video. Especially the end of the "set your goal" section, when you snuck in that cheeky "try not to change it too often"! It's so easy to be swayed by the new shiny toy in the banner and lose track of what you're building towar- Wait, what do you mean we're getting a Fu Xuan rerun? What do you mean I already have enough supports? I need her!
The first advice is really good, because it's easy to get lost in the awe of drip marketing, leaks, and trailer videos for characters. It's important to get a character you like looking at, but it's also really important to see what role that character fulfills in your team comps. So far every character that I've planned on getting, I'm using to their fullest potential by making teams around them, their aesthetics are just a big big bonus. Overall, having direction in what comps you're trying to build is the first step in trivializing most of the endgame content.
I think I needed this reality check. I'll default back to being a story player and let the moc rewards time out. That said, I'm not going to make a goal list. I'm playing games to escape having to be extremely organised. I already do that at work.
You can play the game and have a goal still. Like okay I wanna have this character built. So imma focus on them until they work very well. Then NEVER touch their relics or switch them off and for each new character you farm new sets. In the long run this helps a massive amount and I found it very run and chill.
As a more casually-oriented, collector-style player, the Herta Space Station continuance boss was a massive _wall_ to being capable of enhancing several of my characters. It was this boss which finally broke me, between HSR _and_ Genshin Impact, to begin minding relics/artifacts deeper than the incidental way I had before. I am overwhelmed by the myriad facets of those systems, but *that one boss* broke me, I had to engage this aspect of HSR to continue with what I wanted to do. And that's probably the cornerstone of account progression: figuring out what you need for what you want.
I couldn't agree more on "setting a goal". Ever since I saw the first Acheron model leaks around 7 months ago, I knew I was gonna get her and I started saving for her, that also gave me motivation to keep playing, exploring areas, doing companion quests and building characters to complete MoC and get more jades for Acheron. I'm currently sitting at 330+ pulls, I'm 100% getiing her E0S1 and I'm also getting a Fu Xuan. I'm very happy with how far I've come and I couldn't be more excited for her release.
i'm a casual player and have no prior knowledge about gacha games so when i started playing hsr, i just did whatever with light cones and other stuff that i kinda regretted later. but now i just want to collect characters i like instead of focusing too hard on very specific strategies.
I remember on early release most people were like "you must pull Seele!"...i tried but not that hard. I always thought having an op dps character is a good option, but i find more entertainment on figuring out how to build a non popular character. Asta pretty much carry me as dps until i build Qingque on early patch
Thank you so much for this video! I struggle when it comes to games like this and tend to change my mind whenever I try building my characters but since getting into star rail, I’ve decided to build my favorite ones (gameplay-wise/design-wise). Asta is currently my first ever built character and still trying to make her better but with how this game has been a lot more forgiving with the grind in comparison to the ones I’ve played before, it really makes things much more enjoyable. I’m hoping to finish her build and take things slowly while also just enjoying the story since it’s pretty cool so far! :)
Thx man mental is so important in this kind of game also you are right staying consistent is the harder part of any part of this life not only in this game. I hope you have a nice day.
on the first part, it makes sense. I started only 10 days ago, I am dolphin/whale level depending on where you draw the line and when characters I like release I want to eventually reach the level of full clearing moc and such, but I also want to use characters I like. My first hope/goal was to get sparkle as her cinematic was the final push to get me to try the game after a friend was gushing about it I thus wanted to build a team that could use her (turns out that is actually quite easy, but this was before I started playing) I also REALLY like welt, as a character and animations, so I wanted to use him regardless of meta (luckily I just got him on standard banner pulls after the fact, I dont use my topup gems on standard banner) But now I need to actually continue on the goals of using 2 teams with them, that being said I have limits on meta, I know topaz would pair well with the free Dr Ratio, which would also accept welt on that comp, healer last, with welt being a sudo helpful tank, but I dont really want to get her, I dont like her... same with ruan mei, I know shes really strong, but after her intro quest I dont like her and never want to use her and I know that many carries would love sparkle and bronya (which I also got 1 of shortly after sparkle) so my next thing is to build up the characters I have and find which main dps I want to pair with sparkle/bronya Edit: oh yeah, since I missed another sparkle (altho not a big deal) and hit bronya, I now have the next banner character gaurenteed, and it was 40 pulls in, and I have over 50 tickets, meaning I just wait until someone shows up, idk about acheron, dont think she fits that comp well, and I dont care much for her gameplay wise even if shes nice to look at both model and animation wise, also I will eventually need another healer too but anyways, thats me putting my thoughts to words even if it isnt really needed. Good tips for how to plan your future gameplay/paths to take without wasting too much time or burning out as easily. Right now Im just happy seeing my welt do damage and such, since I got his LC before him on standard.
I recently made a video on my progress on this game like you did with a month progress and this advice is key for me. Setting a goal towards something is good since someone like me has finished most story stuff and you get to a bottleneck of what to do next other than dailies. Currently, farming towards a next character and leveling my current ones. MoC and Pure fiction are a back burner for me just due to characters I have. Amazing video I’m glad to see this channel grow!
my acount in hsr is great and i constantly clear the hard content, but the way u just explain all that in the video is so good that i couldn't stop watching amazing video
A mix of meta and favorite characters is the fine point, it keeps the game fun. I’m a husbando collector, I got every male character except for blade and I’m pulling aventurine. But I had to pull for RM and sparkle bc they are just too good to pass up.
I haven't pulled for any characters since 1.4. I am saving until Screwllum comes out (maybe it's time whaling) but since, I have been focusing on improving what I possess, bc I always found my builds were a mess (I still do tho) and I improved my character pool a lot (Dr Ratio did help with my already owned Welt). But when I saw other people's accounts. It drove me jealous on their efficiency. Thanks to this video it made me realize how futile this jealousness is, and I will upgrade my main characters pool : Kafka, Luka, Sampo (DoT), and also Bronya, Dr Ratio, Welt. I will also improve some of my left out Harmony characters such as Asta & Tingyun.
I personally have mono quantum (with crit chance/dmg relic sub) and dot teams for my main 2 team and have back burners with himeko, herta, and clara. In my main two teams have decent~good gears on my damage dealers so I need to focus on support relics (harmony and sustain) cause they have mid speed and useless substats. Therefore, this is my goal for now: main goal: - getting relics on the speed set and hp set for my supports to get god rolls on speed, since the speed breakpoints are the most needed on supports, then the stats they are buffing (i.e spd and c.dmg for hanabi and bronya, spd and BE for ruan mei and SW, spd and atk for tingyun) (also look for speed breakpoint on other channel videos since it will take a long time to explain it here) - do some relic organization with the wheat and thief set to see for godly substats (i.e EHR + DEF for march and geppie, the usual c.chance/dmg) secondary goal: - eidolon and lightcone rerun banner for my existing team - look for supports that make my team better and possible damage dealer for mono quantum and DoT - other than those two pulling stuff, skip (goodbye acheron my beloved, ughh maybe i'll spend.... no i'm broke) - achievement hunting other goal: - gearing and pulling possible follow up specific team if the late game requires 3 teams - making a team for SU SD and G&G, cause other SU mode will always come and hopefully the relic organization will help with that hopefully this goal list can help with other people in similar situation as me
what i get from this video is simple if you are playing for fun simply build teams you'll enjoy that can handle the simulated universe because your never beating the other things and that's ok i'm so glad that there are people out there like you who are honest i get annoyed by the amount of creators that say you can beat everything easily f2p.
I started playing for Argenti 2 months ago so I've been quite focused on first getting him + some of my favs (Argenti, March of the Hunt, Trailblazer, Gal, Nat & Serval) to lv 80 (still gotta lv up Ser & I'll keep Nat at 70 'cuz I only use her when I need a debuff dispel until I manage to pull 2 more Gals for his E2 boost) so this is a nice strategy for going forward while waiting for new banners with charas I like ^^
to add on the Building Character point: once you decided on your fav char, pull on limited banners that can add value to that fav char, especially support characters. Limited Harmony and Abundance characters are less likely to be powercrept significantly, except Bronya and Tingyun who are standards but are valuable supports in any team comp. On the other hand, DPS chars, especially those of the same element, are more likely to be powercrept. That being said, i think it's okay to pull on DPS chars, especially if you don't have a DPS for specific elements to hypercarry your team. Lightcones, on the other hand, are not recommended for low spenders and F2Ps. Unlike in version 1.0, we have more options for 4-star lightcones for DPS and support chars anyway.
YES U ARE CORRECT NO ONE DID DEEPER KINDA OF GUIDE LIKE FIX OUR ACCOUNTS, especially if we did big mistake in mid game- which character to invest and and consistent! bc i think my biggest mistake is not consistent at one character at a time , and yes i love write things down in a notebook XD i thought im the only one who do it, its very fun and more focus, it is funny how serious i am to write it down its seems like studying the game haha
Oh damn thank you, the most useful information I got from you is that it is possible to just brute force xD I did that in Genshin, but didn't thought that it was possible in HSR bc of weaknesses of the enemies. Now I have a goal👍
Coming from Genshin (I still play), I've decided to focus on leveling characters and upgraded their traces (completely). Only farming relics to get the main stats for a set because the rng is a pain. Been playing HSR from day 1 and now I've reached the point where I can only level traces when I get Tracks of Destiny. Now it doesn't FEEL like my fuel is being wasted since I can't use it for anything else at the moment. Yes, my ultimate cope is finally paying off. F2P btw
I've said several times in multiple places that I don't need guide/help videos for HSR, but I watch them because I enjoy hearing opinions/theorycrafting/etc. and I like seeing cool stuff. I appreciate your objectivity, glad I found your channel. Subscribed! Thanks for the video~ \o/
I love the video! It really encapsulates what I've been meaning to say when my friends ask me how to clear spiral abyss or clear moc, but i just didn't know bc i thought this way of playing the game was the norm. also, i feel like ive been called out in this recent patch with what I've been doing on my account. to sum it up: last 1 week of 2.0: - i was building serval out of boredom, since i had a fully built jing yuan, i thought "why not?" - i got sparkle on a lucky single pull (yay), then i focused my attention on her but only getting to level her up to lvl 75, no traces new week of 2.1: - i got acheron's lc and i decided to level it and give it to my welt, which made me wanna further build my welt. some relic swapping later, some trace leveling, the old man can dish out really fine damage and imprisonments - i attempted the new moc, i was struggling on moc 12 because *I DIDNT CONTINUE BUILDING SPARKLE!* oh, what a comedy! all in all, i too apply the same strategy during my days playing genshin and here too in hsr, this guy is legit.
i am genuinely surprised that you are not so known because you are the person i come back to if i have any question about the game and i always get the answer and i think your vids and guids are really good.
thank you for this! it helps me ground myself as a new player, a lot of overwhelming quests are coming up, especially the other gameplays like pure fiction, forgotten hall, etc., your video helped me remind myself to just enjoy hsr!! 💖
I totally agree with writing things down. I needed a matrix chart to keep track of unlocking and building my Honkai Impact characters when I started playing HI3rd, and it was super helpful for keeping focused and moving forward. I need that for Star Rail.
I felt like this video was made right during my dilemma on figuring out how to build my support characters properly hahaha. Ngl, all the tips were helpful, especially staying consistent. Ever since I started playing Star Rail since launch, my first goal was getting characters I wanted but because of that I'd skip vital support characters. So now I'm trying fix how I build my supports to improve my team builds for my main DPS. The transition on how teams and characters are built for me in Genshin and Star Rail are insanely different. In Genshin, I got used to just focusing on main stats of the artifacts and elemental reactions. But in Star Rail, I really need to pay attention now to SPD, DEF and the rotation of the team. My current side project aside improving my DHIL's build is actually really fixing how I build my Pela and Asta since I totally neglected them just to get good relics for my DPSs hahaha
Thank you for this, I’ve been trying to organize my relics and be super specific about which ones I’m actually going to max out. I really appreciate a lot of this tho, it reminded me how much easier it is for me to stick to goals by writing them down. Time to set more goals again
First off, this video has great advice. I wasn't in need of my account being fixed (it's only on its second week), but I figured I'd watch this anyway, and I can say that these methods of operating have helped me in other games. My goal is about clearing content more than playing characters I like, though I am fortunate that those two intersect somewhat (I like Aventurine and Tingyun a lot). I have one team basically set in stone (Jingliu, Gallagher, Tingyun, Pela), and another I'm working on in the background for stuff that requires two teams (Dr. Ratio, Aventurine, Herta, probably upcoming HarmonyTB). I've already got reasonable to strong light cones for those characters, and I'm only really lacking in trace levels and relics.
I just want to be able to keep up with the story, because of that I had enough stellar jade and luck to pull Lunae, Kafka, Argenti, Yunli, Ruan Mei, Sparkle and Adventurine. Yeah I don't have Acheron or Firefly but honestly HSR has been pretty kind to me
That guide is supeeeer helpful. Despite not really needing the advice because my approach to the game is eerily similar - I have my goal (clearing MOC 12 with 36 stars while using units I at least like using (so no Jingliu, no Dan Heng IL)) set since the beginning of my "end game", and I find that's the most important. Writing down everything helps a ton because that way you can optimize your relic farming but also in your mind it gets a lot clearer - you know what to do next. Also sometimes I like setting up little challenges for myself (I recently tried to 2 cycle MOC 11 part 1 with Xueyi and it was the funniest thing), but I never let that get in the way of my broader goal. Also chad points to you for saying people should have their own goals and have fun in their own ways, that's the most important. I don't really like MOC because I feel it's always trying to sell the last units while making the older units somewhat "loads worse" and I'm kind of afraid to say it because I feel people are all selling MOC to be the funniest thing ever... While I love the Simulated Universe expansions a lot of people hate because they're too long and complex (which I can totally understand). Also other chad points to you for saying tier lists aren't a way to choose which characters to build... or at least when you have a good enough basis. Asking mains how to build the unit they're maining is sooo helpful, that's what I do nowadays too ! Subbed for the quality guide and content, which we always love to see. 🤗
Honestly, thank you for this video, i've been playing this game since launch but since this is my first gacha game i was just doing whatever seemed fun, and i am gonna continue doing that while trying to make 2 teams so i can get to like moc7 consistently, i'd be happy with that.
I just started hsr about a 6 days ago and i am very lucky to have found your video and channel. Definitely going to help me build my account, amazing content! Keep it up 👍
Setting a clear goal is definitely a good advice - not easy to follow though if you don't get the characters that you need for your goal 🙃 Sometimes the best you can do is to have a look at what you've got, make the best out of it, and enjoy the game until something better comes up. My goal at the start was a DOT main team with Kafka, then proceeded to get Kafka at the beginning, but no other DOT characters until after equilibrium 4...
This is the right approach! I always see people trying to create META on this game, but honestly, I do floor 12 on the mirror without any of this meta. Cheers for the video !!!
As a day 1 Seele main always focus on making your favorite character's team as strong as possible to bring out the most of your favorite units but don't go overboard with more characters than what you can handle. 8-10 characters will carry you through pretty much all content with enough investment.
This video just popped up in my feed. I feel like this is the world's way of calling me out for neglecting my HSR account for months. I have some semi-decent characters built, but it's not really there yet. Thankfully, the characters I like are in higher tiers in tier lists. My dps characters are good, and I just really need to spend time building the other people for the other team because I only have one decent team. Literally, struggled with fighting Sunday because I haven't played in so long and I was clueless with the new mechanics. I hope to keep on playing without burning myself out this time.
This advice goes both ways. Oone for honkai star rail, and another for our own irl goals. Set your goal, build up your life, and stay consistent to what you do
the goal thing is a great way to put it, for me it was to be able to comfortably clear most content, and then eventually pulling for whatever characters I like regardless of meta. it helped that I loved a lot of the meta characters too but now I'm comfortably clearing almost all content and having saved up enough pulls to guarantee aventurine
Bro just gave us the topic in the first minute and said "you can click off now" Did we just find the best youtuber in the world? Mad respect. I'll still watch the whole thing lol
About relics - A lot of people dismiss 4 star relics out of hand, but a 4 star set with good stats is better than a 5 star set with shit stats. You can absolutely clear MoC12 with purple sets if they have good stats. Sure, you might not zero cycle, but you don't have to, get the jades first and then think of improving your time.
Six months ago I watched your video and created a small document on my phone with my goals in HSR. Since then, I've successfully created two teams, one around Firefly and another around Robin. I got Feixiao early, very suspiciously lucky... I love these teams so much, I even managed to clear the Apocalyptic Shadow with 12 stars! Next, I'm going for either Lingsha or Silver Wolf, or both if I'm lucky. SW is my favorite character and I've lost on both her banners historically... So I've saved 160 tickets for her specifically and everything else goes to Lingsha. After I have these, I might go for Topaz and some eidolons for my characters. Looking good. Previously, I was playing Asta on an offensive set and I didn't have a set main DPS at all. But now she's thriving with Firefly and I didn't have to abandon her, just change her set. She deals a lot of Super Break damage too and I'm happy. Thanks for inspiring me to clean up my account!
After watching this video i realizes that I've been in a very consistent and comfortable path since I've started HSR and playing Hsr brought back my confidence and love for Gacha games, I've always loved Gacha games and I guess after playing Genshin it just burnt me out with the continous losing streaks of pull seeing people spend so much money to achieve something i wish i can do as F2P, it makes me feel like I wasn't cut out to play Gacha games, it made me lose confidence and fear Limited banners it made me scared to even play but after playing Honkai Star rail the routine and patterns I've always done of farming leveling up characters one by one and saving all gems to use on the very last day of a limited banner and successfully getting the character, it made me happy again it gave me back my confidence
On the point of characters you like vs meta, my fun is always finding that balance between those things. I never run a team without at least 2 characters I like, but I build the most meta team I can with that in mind for the task at hand and it works for me. It helps that the character writing and designs in this game are amazing so it's easy to like a lot of the characters
"actually a lot of people dont do this" LOL TRUE my friend who showed me the game has a bunch of high tier characters he has a bunch of relics on sets it was hilarious when he streamed me stuff and I kept catching things and pointing them out and he goes "oh... didnt know that" like 4piece quantum set still giving you the 10% def ignore even when not quantum, or how some of his techniques or skills worked
This is a great video to follow I've been playing this game for a long time and have always been terrible at building the characters I want to build, and I've realized some of the mistakes I've made And I plan to improve my account to be better. Thank you for giving tips on the type I am looking for. And I'm planning to build my characters better in the future :) oh yeah nice analogy that you use, though, you have my sub ❤
I’ve just started writing things down too! Instead of googling the best builds every time I forget, I’m just gonna have it written down. Also this probably sounds dumb but I started writing down basic info about the story and world like factions and aeons and stuff just to help keep everything straight lol
That's a great idea honestly. My memory isn't the best when it comes to details, so writing stuff down would be a great help for me in keeping up with lore too!
Great video and some solid advice, we can't have everything we want unless we whale in the game so we have to be careful and considerate in the way we pick our squads to use.
I like guides like this a lot, first time seeing one of your vids. If you ever want to play a fun game go to a tier list and see if the cons for characters includes "you have to pay attention" or "you have to build a team around them." If you decide to take shots you'll be blackout drunk in six minutes.
As a happy f2p who can beat moc and pf (can 100% but not always) it is difficult but at the same time I’m very happy how I’m playing but all I want is more resources to build the ones I love…
@@aryosheva8204same lol like i got kafka at 1 pull and BS at 20 pulls and I am new to Dot characters , and I recently got sparkle . Edit : anyway my Kafka and black Swan are built now and they're crazy together 😊
Once I forced myself to be consistent I made a fully built Quantum team complete with a 70/100 crit ratio Silver Wolf with 80 EHR dealing 40k an ult with her f2p signature. I sacrificed EHR of 130 to get better dmg out of her. Also have a fully built amazing Jing Yuan who I finally got to 1-2 cycle MoC. Now im working on my Topaz. Got her to 71/120 crit ratio. Waiting to get a good crit buffing LC. I actually like the new crit dmg buffing LC. It buffs stacks when Numby hits it seems. Idk the dmg calcs though. Sword Play S4 or if the new one Final Victor is better. Its a hard LC to get to work. I need to get her signature. Its so damn good. So my current goal is to make my Dr. Ratio team better. Using Fu Xuan, Silver Wolf, and Topaz with him. Its just really hard to get a good Hunt LC right now as Cruising on the Stellar Seas is on my Seele.
the "knowing what plan you want is very helpful" hits me very hard... ive been having a hard time making decisions on who to pull or build lately. and its difficult when i end up spreading out my attention to multiple characters and not reaching anything
Summed up beautifully with

You already have a ton of the larger HSR video makers beat man. Great video. I feel like I got hyped into pulling Sparkle even though I lost my 50/50 first time around so it took a ton of pulls. Now that she’s built I don’t even use her much. This was because I veered of the path I had set which was to full clear the end game modes.
SAME
I’d look up videos explaining how to better predict and garunteed good rolls! There’s some guides out there explaining it’s not entirely random and has charts showing and explaining the numbers and what days to pull.
@hinatashouyou2790 you aren't "guaranteed" good rolls. You're essentially playing the probability game.
@@jamess359 depends on sub stats, if all are useful then they are guaranteed good rolls.

What I took away:
- Just work with the characters you have right now for the 2 teams (and if there’s a character that does a job better in one of your teams, then I can consider switching)
- Build one character at a time even if it’ll only take like half a day of stamina
I subscribed the moment you said all steps right at the beginning😂
Love the efficiency!
time to fix my account
We can fix them 😤
walk the walk
Holy backreading
The legend
You didn't burn down the kitchen again, did you?
Great video. Especially the end of the "set your goal" section, when you snuck in that cheeky "try not to change it too often"! It's so easy to be swayed by the new shiny toy in the banner and lose track of what you're building towar-
Wait, what do you mean we're getting a Fu Xuan rerun?
I'm glad that you know what you want!
Earned my sub with this one, I needed this advice. Need to stop building every harmony character I see and just finalize one team at least
Nice concept for a different kind of Star Rail video. I've come to embrace the chaos by now, but even so, the leaky roof analogy was on point.
Great video, I could listen to you all day
i'm a casual player and have no prior knowledge about gacha games so when i started playing hsr, i just did whatever with light cones and other stuff that i kinda regretted later. but now i just want to collect characters i like instead of focusing too hard on very specific strategies.
I remember on early release most people were like "you must pull Seele!"...i tried but not that hard. I always thought having an op dps character is a good option, but i find more entertainment on figuring out how to build a non popular character. Asta pretty much carry me as dps until i build Qingque on early patch
DPS Asta is crazy
@@mailcs06 i kinda do the HARMony trend a bit too early
I started only 10 days ago, I am dolphin/whale level depending on where you draw the line and when characters I like release
I want to eventually reach the level of full clearing moc and such, but I also want to use characters I like. My first hope/goal was to get sparkle as her cinematic was the final push to get me to try the game after a friend was gushing about it
I thus wanted to build a team that could use her (turns out that is actually quite easy, but this was before I started playing)
I also REALLY like welt, as a character and animations, so I wanted to use him regardless of meta (luckily I just got him on standard banner pulls after the fact, I dont use my topup gems on standard banner)
But now I need to actually continue on the goals of using 2 teams with them, that being said I have limits on meta, I know topaz would pair well with the free Dr Ratio, which would also accept welt on that comp, healer last, with welt being a sudo helpful tank, but I dont really want to get her, I dont like her... same with ruan mei, I know shes really strong, but after her intro quest I dont like her and never want to use her
and I know that many carries would love sparkle and bronya (which I also got 1 of shortly after sparkle) so my next thing is to build up the characters I have and find which main dps I want to pair with sparkle/bronya
Edit: oh yeah, since I missed another sparkle (altho not a big deal) and hit bronya, I now have the next banner character gaurenteed, and it was 40 pulls in, and I have over 50 tickets, meaning I just wait until someone shows up, idk about acheron, dont think she fits that comp well, and I dont care much for her gameplay wise even if shes nice to look at both model and animation wise, also I will eventually need another healer too
but anyways, thats me putting my thoughts to words even if it isnt really needed.
Amazing video I’m glad to see this channel grow!
my acount in hsr is great and i constantly clear the hard content, but the way u just explain all that in the video is so good that i couldn't stop watching
amazing video
I like how u got straight to the point, i just subbed, ur fr underrated
This is genuinely a very inspiring video LOL I have been a mess w staying focused on hsr and I needed a reminder to not spread myself too thin.
A mix of meta and favorite characters is the fine point, it keeps the game fun. I’m a husbando collector, I got every male character except for blade and I’m pulling aventurine. But I had to pull for RM and sparkle bc they are just too good to pass up.
thank you very much for this. I have been doing my best to get off the hype train when it comes to characters and to focus on the ones i have now
I haven't pulled for any characters since 1.4.
Therefore, this is my goal for now:
main goal:
- getting relics on the speed set and hp set for my supports to get god rolls on speed, since the speed breakpoints are the most needed on supports, then the stats they are buffing (i.e spd and c.dmg for hanabi and bronya, spd and BE for ruan mei and SW, spd and atk for tingyun) (also look for speed breakpoint on other channel videos since it will take a long time to explain it here)
- do some relic organization with the wheat and thief set to see for godly substats (i.e EHR + DEF for march and geppie, the usual c.chance/dmg)
secondary goal:
- eidolon and lightcone rerun banner for my existing team
- look for supports that make my team better and possible damage dealer for mono quantum and DoT
- other than those two pulling stuff, skip (goodbye acheron my beloved, ughh maybe i'll spend.... no i'm broke)
- achievement hunting
other goal:
- gearing and pulling possible follow up specific team if the late game requires 3 teams
- making a team for SU SD and G&G, cause other SU mode will always come and hopefully the relic organization will help with that
hopefully this goal list can help with other people in similar situation as me
This is BY FAR the best advice I've ever heard from a guy talking into a wet shaving brush. Great video (just subscribed!)
what i get from this video is simple if you are playing for fun simply build teams you'll enjoy that can handle the simulated universe because your never beating the other things and that's ok i'm so glad that there are people out there like you who are honest i get annoyed by the amount of creators that say you can beat everything easily f2p.
Unlike in version 1.0, we have more options for 4-star lightcones for DPS and support chars anyway.
setting your goal and staying consistent. best gym advice ever
Subscribed! Thanks for the video~ \o/
thx for making this video. I’ve been searching a guide like this for months then you finally came! easy sub
I love the video!
It really encapsulates what I've been meaning to say when my friends ask me how to clear spiral abyss or clear moc, but i just didn't know bc i thought this way of playing the game was the norm.
also, i feel like ive been called out in this recent patch with what I've been doing on my account. to sum it up:
last 1 week of 2.0:
- i was building serval out of boredom, since i had a fully built jing yuan, i thought "why not?"
- i got sparkle on a lucky single pull (yay), then i focused my attention on her but only getting to level her up to lvl 75, no traces
new week of 2.1:
- i got acheron's lc and i decided to level it and give it to my welt, which made me wanna further build my welt. some relic swapping later, some trace leveling, the old man can dish out really fine damage and imprisonments
- i attempted the new moc, i was struggling on moc 12 because *I DIDNT CONTINUE BUILDING SPARKLE!* oh, what a comedy!
all in all, i too apply the same strategy during my days playing genshin and here too in hsr, this guy is legit.
i am genuinely surprised that you are not so known because you are the person i come back to if i have any question about the game and i always get the answer and i think your vids and guids are really good.
thank you for this! it helps me ground myself as a new player, a lot of overwhelming quests are coming up, especially the other gameplays like pure fiction, forgotten hall, etc., your video helped me remind myself to just enjoy hsr!! 💖
I totally agree with writing things down. I needed a matrix chart to keep track of unlocking and building my Honkai Impact characters when I started playing HI3rd, and it was super helpful for keeping focused and moving forward. I need that for Star Rail.
I just gotta say absolutely amazing video. Definitely gonna sub. Keep up the good work. I really like the video style
Staying consistent is so important. The gear and the materials ain't gonna farm themselves!
Yeah I don't have Acheron or Firefly but honestly HSR has been pretty kind to me
I recently shifted to a similar mindset so this video was perfect timing for me, thank you!
This guy deserves my follow. Straight away gives the points ❤ no useless blabbering
Great video! Just the words MANY people need! Splendidly said, sir!
15:50 The B-Roll footage made me laugh. Having Jingliu die, and then you being all excited at the end cracked me up 😂
This is the right approach! I always see people trying to create META on this game, but honestly, I do floor 12 on the mirror without any of this meta. Cheers for the video !!!
I like how the three steps are basically just general life advice applied to HSR followed by "oh wow!". Perfection.
(slams like button)
The staff and manager analogy is perfect 👍
Thank you 🙏
As a day 1 Seele main always focus on making your favorite character's team as strong as possible to bring out the most of your favorite units but don't go overboard with more characters than what you can handle. 8-10 characters will carry you through pretty much all content with enough investment.
BRO I HAD THIS VID ON IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE PLAYING HSR AND THE MOMENT THE BACKGROUND VIDEO JINGLIU DID HER BURST, MINE DID IT AT THE SAME TIME :O
Great sharing, these advices are even useful for real life situation. Thanks for inspiring ❤️
As someone just returning to HSR that's is temp F2P. this video was very helpful, keep up the great work
It's a very good video from advanced player point of view, great job!
Set your goal, build up your life, and stay consistent to what you do
Very helpful video as someone who just started the game
the goal thing is a great way to put it, for me it was to be able to comfortably clear most content, and then eventually pulling for whatever characters I like regardless of meta. it helped that I loved a lot of the meta characters too but now I'm comfortably clearing almost all content and having saved up enough pulls to guarantee aventurine
Awesome vid, while I was watching it was cool kind of doubling the Honkai advice as life advice. thanks and subscribed :))
I can already see you becoming a bigger content creator in the Star Rail community, keep it up!
Honestly thank you so much for this... i needed it like alot
You seem like a chill dude. Gunna keep watching your stuff.
Thanks so much for this! I'm just reaching end game and I'm struggling in late game content... Great vid!
Bro just gave us the topic in the first minute and said "you can click off now"
Did we just find the best youtuber in the world?
So happy that you thriving and having fun! Thank you for coming back and commenting this! Glad to have played a part :)
"actually a lot of people dont do this" LOL TRUE
my friend who showed me the game has a bunch of high tier characters
he has a bunch of relics on sets
it was hilarious when he streamed me stuff and I kept catching things and pointing them out and he goes "oh... didnt know that" like 4piece quantum set still giving you the 10% def ignore even when not quantum, or how some of his techniques or skills worked
Great video and some solid advice, we can't have everything we want unless we whale in the game so we have to be careful and considerate in the way we pick our squads to use.
so eloquent! great video, thank you so much.
I like guides like this a lot, first time seeing one of your vids. If you ever want to play a fun game go to a tier list and see if the cons for characters includes "you have to pay attention" or "you have to build a team around them." If you decide to take shots you'll be blackout drunk in six minutes.
As a happy f2p who can beat moc and pf (can 100% but not always) it is difficult but at the same time I’m very happy how I’m playing but all I want is more resources to build the ones I love…
as a f2p, im lucky but get overwhelmed with lucky pulls, and so much to build
suffering from success, just like my genshin account lol
@@aryosheva8204same lol like i got kafka at 1 pull and BS at 20 pulls and I am new to Dot characters , and I recently got sparkle .
Edit : anyway my Kafka and black Swan are built now and they're crazy together 😊
I have too many good characters that I don’t use because I am so overwhelmed with building them all 😭
Just focus on one character at a time. Pull them up to where they need to be the move in to the next.
I think you just reminds me why am I here, why I start to play this game, thanks
my new favorite youtuber
you will be- no, ARE one of the most important people in this community. Thanks
I watched the entire video without skipping while I was showering. Damn, it was cool af, the guides you made are practical *clap* *clap*
Holly molly why 700 subs and so much quality content... don't give up!
I really like your voice and presentation. It is really good. Thank you for the advice in this video
This is actually helpful specially the bit where you said don't chase the banners.
