Welcome home, Karen! I love your plan for this space and cant wait to see it come to fruition! How much bigger the whole place looks after removing that wall. I am so jealous...how I wish I could move there and do this!!

Welcome home Karen! As soon as you said 'I'm not an open-plan kind of girl', I thought, 'me neither!', but you guys did the right thing opening up the space. I love your plans, it's going to look fantastic!

    Hello
Youre busy bees and believe your home will look great.
Re heating, don’t you consider heat pump and underfloor heating installation? Its most ecological and also cost effective.
    Food luck with your projects.

Thank you! We considered both the heat pump and underfloor heating (and it still might happen!). We are fortunate that the house is small enough that top notch insulation should allow us to heat with the wood stove. We ruled out the heat pump because of the postage stamp-sized property; no place to put it!

Got to love the Dechetteries down south, never get away with dumping that in the gravat skip near me. Have to hump it all into the non viable skip. Makes a massive difference though nice job. AJ - Edit to ask a question, are you going to treat all the existing woodwork before you start rebuilding?

I continue to be impressed with the déchetterie; they even take and recycle old tires. And as for the wood, we are going to use xyloprene as a "just in case"
