Your colour palette is beautiful, very simple but classic.

I just did this to the entire interior of my 8-900 year old house in Provence. After about two hours of working by hand we pulled out the rotary hammer drills and cut the time by 75%

The design part is the fun part! There are so many things to consider. I enjoyed seeing your process.

Might there be room in the bathroom upstairs for a washer? Most of us with upstairs bedrooms have the bulk of the laundry up there, anyway? Also...they have those washer/drier-in-one units out there. I think I first heard of them in England. I can do without a dishwasher, but give me that drier. I hate to iron!

You have perfectly mirrored our thought process 😂 Not a big fan of the evaporator-type driers; we had one in a vacation rental and it did not win us over.
For us, we decided that since the drying of the clothes would have to be either outside or over the wood stove, it didn't really matter where the washer was located. Given that, the upstairs is tight (Karen needs a space for all of here LivingaFrenchLife.com inventory) so we wanted to think carefully about where the washer might live. Keep tuning in... we may have found a downstairs solution!
