The Pamban Railway crosses the tropical landscape of Tamil Nadu, the former Madras, for around 600 kilometers. Heavy storms and rain showers make the route a challenge for Indian Railways to this day. The film accompanies the "Rameswaram Express" over the notorious Pamban Bridge, the first bridge across the Indian Ocean.

The effort behind this video is simply amazing. The way visuals are captured, especially nature is very nice. Born and raised in Tamil Nadu it is a treat to watch the locations captured using drones. Thanks for the video.
Not sure what was the western agenda at 2.03 minutes jammu and kashmir not part of india map. Time not so far, western ideology keep supporting the pakstain. Look like another one sided bbc documentary. Now video start at 2.03 to 2.22 omitted with blur 😂
Another interesting fact is that Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, ex-President of India and one of the world's best missile scientist was born in that small town of Rameswaram at the Southern tip of mainland India. From being a fisherman, to becoming president of world's largest democracy, his journey is very inspiring.
these tracks are not from colonial era. This BG routes is made by Indian railways. They are not low caste dont spread fake details. Fastest Train is Vandebharat and Gatiman at 160Kmph
Absolutely correct.
The only remains of the British Era are the railway stations.
I wish these were demolished as well.
This is an old documentary.
They are low caste
@@appu003100they’re too beautiful to be demolished

How did you assume the caste of track cleaners? They also write exams and get selected to do the job. They are railway employees, too.
True
They assumed because there is also an agenda to fulfil to show non-Western countries in bad light.
This channel's documentaries assume a lot of things about India. I wonder who funds these documentaries?
Dravidiafricans tell us Hindi speakers that Dravidiafricans are so advanced and look how advanced they are 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They black most likely lower caste
28:33 Based on the Wikipedia article, the Railway Workshop at Golden Rock, Trichy was built in 1928 by the South Indian Railway Company, not by the "East India Company"
Agreed, there are other factual inaccuracies as well. It is the jaundiced eye of documentary maker that sees what it want to see.
1. Indian railways does not assign work by caste. It is incidental that people working as cleaners are mostly from lower caste.
2. 28:02, it was clearly apparent in the video that hard work was done by both men and women. The narrator makes it sound like women working hard is a discrimination. It was quite a hypocritical remark to make when women world over are marching to get the work.
3. They show as if the entire train is non-AC. All the long distance trains have both, AC and non-AC compartments.

Palki, a female Indian journalist, disagreed! She disagreed with the German cartoon, too!
@@drewh3224 the german cartoon is baseless. People don't travel on top of Indian trains. The images are from early 2010. The tracks are electrified and now Bangladesh is mistaken as Indian trains for carrying people on top.
@@drewh3224 palki has so far only reported the traina accident, unlike her coverage of western criticism of India, where she gives her own "scholarly" thoughts. At best she is a softcore right wing shill who is relevant because of her passive aggressive tone, good looks, and English commentary.
Not sure how this qualifies as one of the world’s most dangerous railways, but I enjoyed the documentary especially the bridge crossing. The color of the sea made me want to jump in. Thanks for this window into life in Tamil Nadu. Safe travels to all
It is rarely above 29Celcius in winter but in the video they talk about temperature going up to 50Celcius and no where in Tamil Nadu even in summer that kind of temperature is reached.
1. Dangerous route because its India, if it was in the west it would have been engineering marvel. Words are important.
2. Those jobs are open for everyone willing to work, the vacancies are filled post qualifying railway exams.
3. Fastest train in India literally runs with a max permissible speed of 180km/hr.
4. It is mandatory to have two loco pilots in every express trains in India.
5. Indian railways have AC coaches too, for people who are wiling to pay more.
Nothing has changed in the past 70 years about western media showing the side of India with all the information being half cooked, fake or carefully crafted to make sure it does look bad.

200% correct.
Correct...why are they calling Indian Railways as world's most dangerous railway
@@GENCENT because it is true.. The safety record of Indian Railways is one of the worst.. And before blaming the railway people, I would blame the politicians.. @@subhrajyotiadhya5878 partially agree with you but my point is that the west always tries to showcase India as the worst in any field.
I haven’t been to this part of India, only to New Delhi and parts of Punjab. I’ve also been to Karachi in Pakistan. This part of the south and the lovely railroad are so beautiful to me, I would like very much to see it one day. I’ve really enjoyed everyone I met during my first trip to India, everyone was very kind to me from cab drivers, vegetable sellers, shop keepers, policemen, people at various temples & just regular people as I was trying to get out of their way or riding in traffic with my friends. It’s very obvious to me that kindness to strangers is a value that almost everyone keeps. I even met people at petrol stations who were wonderful to speak with. ❤️ from 🇺🇸
The trains and rail infrastructure are not from Colonial era 😮, rolling stocks are replaced. Older coaches are scrapped and existing diesel locomotives are being sent to Bangladesh, some African and South Asian countries.
Transgenders don't entertain, they are there to grab money from passengers, infront of the camera they behaved 😊.
Railway recruitments are based on one's educational qualification and individuals from lower caste are given priority.

My Keralite mom would take me to visit her sister in Chennai and we would make the journey via train but I don’t remember it being this exact express. I’ve always liked the people of Tamil Nadu more than my birth state simply because they’re more humble and kind. And the food, dear god the food! It is funny when to hear the narrative, if it is built by the British, she just speaks about the engineering marvel and not the manpower required it whereas she does not miss any chance of emphasising the number casualties that take place in the Indian railways.

Outstanding documentary! 👍👍
A small note, it is also the birth place of respected Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
As a person from Tamilnadu (South India), who uses this rail route very frequently, this documentary is highly exaggerated, and typical representation of India by overlooking western media. Rameshwaram express as mentioned in the documentary is one among many Express trains, which comes with four class configuration such as First AC, Second AC, Third AC and Sleeper Class (Non AC). So people here have choice to choose between Air-conditioned and Non AC coaches. There are many train variants like Vande Bharat express, Shadabthi and Rajdhani which has speed range way beyond 52 Kmph. In converse to what mentioned here in documentary, to reach deep into south from Chennai, we have well connected roadways with frequent bus service and also air connectivity to major locations. At some point of the documentary they mentioned that the Indian railways is still using colonial era rail roads, which sounds funny and sad for them being ignorant of the facts. Like this I can point out many bizarre claims in this ill-researched documentary.
Tamil people are so nice looks innocent like japanese.
Thank you for that great video! I want to point out to others looking for the amazing hill-temple shown at 22:00 that it doesn't appear to be the Rock Temple as mentioned, but possibly the Urachikottai Temple instead, which is located about 80-miles (130km) upstream the Kaveri or north-west of Tiruchirappalli, just north of Bhavani.

The tone of the documentry sounds more like the editor is journaling a safari or savana and less of rail, pamban or culture. I suggest that Sri Lanka and India work together to enhance their railway infrastructure and extend it to Sri Lanka's Mannar region. By connecting Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka with Tamil Nadu in India, this would facilitate travel and trade between the two regions. With the integration of flight, ferry, and potentially railway connections, it would promote stronger ties and improved transportation options for both locals and visitors.

@lingeshvasudevan9760 you're right, with corrupted telugu thiravida politicians ruling both Sri Lanka and tamilnadu, there is no hope for that.
