    Another example of more "normal" work we do around here! But hey, who doesn't like a wagon that revs to 8,200 RPMs?

    First person i see with the same short ram intake i have on my vibe gt. Never heard anything quite like it, even with other intakes. The hissing this one makes sounds so unique to me personally

    I love my black 2003 6 speed vibe gt, it's about to hit 200k miles, but it still runs better than some newer cars I driven, I'm a wrecker driver so I drive different cars every day, but don't regret buying this car

    • @LucoreAuto
      @LucoreAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It really is incredible how well these cars have held up and continue to drive with 200,000+ on the clock. We were for sure worried when we had to DRAG this thing off the used car lot but, after some minor fixing it runs perfectly. And STILL loves that 8,000rpm shift!

      @@LucoreAuto yup I have a friend that has one, it's at 300,000+ miles, but I think the cluster stops at 299k I believe a defect they all have, and had no problems with it just minor normal wear, alternator, tires breaks normal stuff

    The Vibe as a whole has a cult following. I have 4 of which one is a GT. My beater Vibe has 284,750 miles on it and I've actually put a Vibe motor and transmission in the back to bring it home from the salvage yard. Great cars and pretty reliable if maintained.

    What I like about these, is that you cannot really tell a base from a Gt if you remove the badges. Makes a decent sleeper, I enjoy the WTF look when you give the unsuspecting a real run for their money.

    • @LucoreAuto
      @LucoreAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree with you, although this one has kinda lost that "sleeper" styling ;) Quite a weird unique under the radar kind of ride though. Seeing this thing making pulls side by side with a Civic Si of the same generation is absolutely hilarious

      @@LucoreAuto I like how you made the Celica DC header work, the only one I found is from PPE, and it costs about 800 bucks, so I think stock will have to do. All I have is a Borla muffler, I don't thinlk it does much for performance, but it sounds good. Nice to see interest in this kinda forgotten enigma of a car, keep up the good work!

    • @LucoreAuto
      @LucoreAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dannyc8617 it actually fit pretty dang well, the downpipe ended up being replaced due to holes from the welded on heat shield... otherwise the rest of the system worked out just fine. At least it gives you a less expensive option should you need to replace yours! ;)
      We'll see what else is in store for this little rocket, have a feeling there's some more suspension upgrades in the semi near future.

      Remember when changing the serpentine belt that the pulley, and belt is different than all of the Vibe models. 2zzge needs a larger belt, and larger tensioner. Not sure what else

    @3:26 you say "this thing is built by Toyota". Actually the motor for the Vibe GT and the Matrix XRS is built by Yamaha.

    I picked up one of these July 2020 and it's amazing it can fit so much stuff in the back and people are shocked when they try and get in front of me at a light and can't keep up lol. Mine leaked from the donut gasket in the exhaust too and I just changed it today.

    How many Cadillac converters are on Pontiac vibe??

    • @jacobwebb8818

      Probably 2. Catalytic converter**** you don't get a Cadillac from a Toyota dealership.
      Toyotas normally have a pre-cat and a main catalytic converter

    The short ram intake seems a bit quieter, but maybe that's from the video. I have a Cosmo cold air intake that goes into the fender, and I get that it's pretty loud, at least many of my passengers make that remark. In fact when driving along side of me, my friend had commented that it's as loud inside his car as when he's sitting my mine.
    I had also installed the Maganaflow cat back exhaust as well, but it seems to me the noise is coming more from the front as opposed to the rear.
    The exhaust manifold looks interesting, do you have the brand and model number for that handy?
