  • I went to the garden to start the beds. Naturally, I got distracted. I usually only have a vague idea what I want to do when I head to the garden. Most times, I get distracted even from that vague idea. This time, I got distracted from my distraction, as well. Well, now I am ready for strawberries.

I can't wait to get back! Just got another load of tulip bulbs that need to go in asap. Wish me luck for good weather tomorrow, so I can get out into the garden again.

What a lovely day and you got SO much accomplished!! I love the planter border and, as strawberries are favorites of mine, that's a great choice to plant there IMHO!😁 Don't feel alone in getting easily distracted from one work plan to another- it's a favorite trick of mine as well! 🙄 Hubs and I live in a 104 year old house and it's FULL of projects to be done. It's hard to stay the course on one project for long without seeing something ELSE that needs doing!! I'm so very glad you got your sun and garden fix in- keep smiling and keep enjoying the spring! ❤️

I love strawberries! I was lucky enough to get some strawberries as a gift from a neighbor who no longer has the room to grow them. They overwintered right outside the garden house, and are now ready to go into those planters as soon as the rain outside stops long enough that I can work the soil.
There is always something else, isn't there? Living in a house that's as old as yours sounds like a giant walk-in to-do list. But it also sounds wonderful.

My favourite quote today: “My ability to ignore my intelligence in favour of laziness never ceases to amaze me.” Oh I can so relate! Regards from Australia 💚🐈‍⬛

It's amazing how we can just ignore that little voice of reason in our heads, isn't it? :D

So lovely to share a "love"....the passion of playing in the dirt and the expectation of new plants soon! Loved hearing the joy in your voice! Here in Oklahoma I too am beginning my garden beds.

I must thank you for your reply to my last comment. Your replies are always so informative and intelligent. Needless to say, you have a wise head on young shoulders 😀 Great to see you working in the garden again, now the weather is getting better. Blimey! You did well to move those planters. They look really heavy and sturdy. But, despite being slight, your determination and will power got the job done. I do admire you, Kate! Until next time, please take care ❤

I am glad to hear my knowledge dumps come across as helpful :)
The planters are indeed very heavy. But that means they'll probably stay where I placed them. The weather, on the other hand, only seemed to want to get better for a few days. We are back to rain and gray.

Oh yes, getting distracted from your distraction - I know it well lol. Glad you are ready for strawberries. It looks good. I’ve had my days in the garden because it’s been beautiful and days like today where my body just needed a rest. Thank goodness it’s nearly freezing outside and I’m not missing any beautiful weather while I sit under a blanket sipping hot tea and trying to keep warm while catching up on a few videos. Take care.

I feel you! It is gray and ugly here, too. Three couch days where I didn't get teased by the outside. Hope you feel better soon 🙂

Thanks! I am chronically ill, so I am recovering from one thing or another most of the time. Glad to hear I don't look as sick as I am 🙂

I don’t know if there are marigolds in Germany, but if there are and they aren’t invasive, you might want to consider planting some? They naturally keep rodents (and I think deer) away from whatever they’re planted by. My mom used to have them on the outer edge of our garden growing up so she wouldn’t have to use pesticides.

Yes, I have seeds and will plant some! 🙂
