Just as a Godzilla nerd here, the reason the whole "Bones of Godzilla" thing were used were because they were using a DNA computer. Basically the computer would use the DNA in the bones to compute things like balance and basic movements, so the pilots could just focus on the fight.
I am a Godzilla fan but I don’t really give a damn if he does that but yes it basically is..but it was first so yeah. Anyway hope you enjoyed the fight
Fun Fact! Godzilla technically has a black belt in judo. Haruo Nakajima, born January 1’st 1929 and passing away in August 7’th 2017, was the man inside of the original Godzilla suit for a ton of the old movies, basically building Godzilla up to what his current personality is. He played the big man for 12 entire movies in a row. Godzilla used to use a lot of hip tosses and various techniques similar to Judo while in fights because Nakajima himself was a black belt in the art. This guy is my hero.
Generally it's a safe bet to side with a character in the Godzilla franchise. I'm hoping Death Battle eventually brings in other characters like Mothra, King Ghidorah, Gigan, Rodan and Hedorah.
@@theduckgoesmoo Mothra - a giant moth, a goddess of peace, sometimes enemy of Godzilla, sometimes helps him - always on the side of humanity King Ghidorah - 3 headed golden space dragon that shoots lightning, an arch enemy of Godzilla Gigan - a giant chicken thing from space with meathooks for hands, a buzzsaw in it's belly, and a visor that can fire a laser Rodan - giant pterodactyl, can cause hurricanes wherever it flies, fights Godzilla a lot, but they do team up on occasions Hedorah - alien trash monster, can change shape and consume pollution to get stronger. Can shoot lasers from it's eyes, melted Godzilla's arm at one point, knocked him into a pit and took a shit on him.
Who would they fight? The closest to Ghidorah I know of would be Deathwing from WoW. Bahamut from Final Fantasy is too much stronger; he'd probably fight Serpenterra.
- Fact: Power Rangers has one of the worst records in Death Battle. -"There's a bad Power Ranger"? There been quite a few in the franchise actually - Tommy most certainly is a fan favourite. He's been the most recurring character in the franchise and has been a total of 5 different Rangers. He's even reappeared in the newer seasons - Mechagodzilla actually reappeared recently in Kong vs Godzilla
It's time for TRIVIA TIME for one of my all time favourite Death Battles 1) The connections between the Dragonzord and Mechagodzilla are that they are both dragon mechs with human pilots (Tommy Oliver and Akane Yashiro, respectively) and were created in order to take down and destroy giant hostile monsters. Furthermore, both have a history of going berserk or becoming hostile (The Dragonzord had at one point been controlled by Tommy's evil duplicate, and the original spirit of Godzilla can possess Kiryu). 2) This episode was released on TH-cam on Jason David Frank's birthday, the actor known for playing Tommy Oliver. 3) This is the 4th 2 on 2 battle, after Solid Snake VS Sam Fisher, Pokémon VS Digimon, and Ratchet & Clank VS Jak & Daxter. 4) This is the 4th episode to feature giant robots, after Tigerzord VS Gundam Epyon, Power Rangers VS Voltron, and Optimus Prime VS Gundam. 5) This is the 1st episode to feature proper voice acting (as opposed to sound clips) in a language other than English (specifically, Akane speaks Japanese in the fight), with the next ones being Red VS Blue and Heihachi Mishima VS Geese Howard. 6) This is the 2nd time both combatants were seen sparring with each other the minute the battle simulation started, after Weiss VS Mitsuru, with the next one being Miles Morales VS Static. 7) Boomstick's Poultry Science degree, which was brought up in Darth Vader VS Doctor Doom, Ken VS Terry, and Samurai Jack VS Afro Samurai, is mentioned in this episode during Dragonzord's rundown. 7a) In addition, Wiz and Boomstick's argument over the singular and plural terms of goose during Mechagodzilla's rundown is done in a similar fashion to Ken VS Terry. 8) According to the Death Battle Cast for this episode, Ben was originally going to choose one of the other two Mechagodzillas to be Dragonzord's opponent, but since the original (Showa) Mechagodzilla is too strong for Godzilla, and Super Mechagodzilla killed Godzilla, Ben decided to stick with Kiryu so that the Dragonzord has more of a fighting chance than it would against the other two. 9) In Mechagodzilla's rundown, Dual is misspelled as "Duel" in the "Akane" section. 10) When Mechagodzilla jumps over the Dragonzord's second-to-last attack, the camera angle and its pose are more than a passing resemblance to the poster art of Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. 11) In Mechagodzilla's rundown, Destoroyah is misspelled as "Desotroyah" in the feats section. 12) Mechagodzilla's introduction is almost the exact same as the into for the original Godzilla. 13) This is the fifth episode in which a character speaks in a different language (Japanese), after Chun-Li VS Mai Shiranui, Ragna VS Sol Badguy, Chuck Norris VS Segata Sanshiro, and Jotaro VS Kenshiro, with the next two being Red VS Blue and Heihachi Mishima VS Geese Howard. 14) This is the 4th episode that was originally a Community Death Battle after Black Panther VS Batman, Ultron VS Sigma, and Johnny Cage VS Captain Falcon, and with the next 19 being Deadpool VS Mask, All Might VS Might Guy, Goro VS Machamp, Obi-Wan Kenobi VS Kakashi, Danny Phantom VS American Dragon Jake Long, She-Ra VS Wonder Woman, Zuko VS Shoto Todoroki, Winter Soldier VS Red Hood, Sanji VS Rock Lee, Iron Fist VS Po, Steven Universe VS Star Butterfly, Macho Man VS Kool-Aid Man, DIO VS Alucard, Korra VS Storm, Madara VS Aizen, Saitama VS Popeye, Galactus VS Unicron, Mickey VS Bugs, and Wiz VS Boomstick. TRACK!! The track of this fight is "Draconic Robotics" by Werewolf Therewolf. It is an electric guitar rock piece in the vein of music commonly featured in kaiju and tokusatsu series. The track features guitar riffs reminiscent of the classic Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers theme and the Green Ranger's theme from the aforementioned series. The track's title is in reference to the fact that both combatants are mechanical robots designed for combat, with both taking the form of reptiles and classical depictions of dragons. The image cover shows the Dragonzord Power Coin emblem frozen with a crack forming through, presumably in reference to Mechagodzilla's Absolute Zero Cannon, while Mechagodzilla's shoulder cannons emerge from behind, emanating a cold aura that envelops them and the Power Coin.
Well, since you literally asked, _Power Rangers_ is actually a show edited together with footage from a Japanese show known as the _"Super Sentai"_ series. While the American edits certainly differ from the Japanese series, the overall premise is 5 or 6 individuals are chosen to fight against the forces of evil via harnessing the power from certain aspects of the universe (the "Morphing Grid", as it's called in the American version). The reason the American version(s) is so campy is because the _Super Sentai_ series is about as ridiculous and they think kids wouldn't care because it's technically a superhero show.
yeah in Kyuranger (the season that the first team is based on) the villains had fun on musical interludes where they literally marched along, singing and dancing as far as i know its not commented on, its not brought up after the fact, it just....happens
@@mrroboshadow The primary reason why Bandora is better than Rita ;-) A lot more goofy, yes, but also more menacing at the same time. Rita is being added to the Battle for the Grid fighting game this month and even they know they needed to include some Bandora dancing.
@@PissedGrunty Also Bandora acually thought the Kyurangers. Rita never ever faced any of the Rangers in battle. Zed did fight Tommy in Season 2 but not Rita. So yeah Bandora ceetenly is a more formidable foe.
“What in the world is Power Rangers?” It’s not easy to explain, but basically it’s an action show that uses stock footage from a long running Japanese show: Super Sentai Rangers, which in itself is a whole new can of worms.
The real shame is that this is Tommy Oliver's second loss in DB. His first loss was in the White Tiger Zord against Gundam Epyon. It's sad because Tommy is actually really cool and often referred to in universe as the greatest ranger ever. Fact Fiend did a dive into his Ranger Wiki page to prove it.
Hearing him compare Godzilla to Pacific rim is going to give me an aneurysm. Also the absolute zero doesn't drain Mecha Godzilla's battery if it doesn't FIRE it, charging is fine.
I don't know if someone has explained the candle thing. But, in the Super Sentai counterpart, that candle is the Green Ranger's time to exist in the world. Because the Green Ranger's already dead. And, the Green Ranger is the older brother of the Red Ranger in the Super Sentai counterpart
The crazy thing is that this isn't even really a ghost Godzilla. Because there's another version of Godzilla (as in alternate universe version) that's literally made of the ghosts of soldiers that died in WW2 that also wants to destroy Japan. Plus there's an entirely different Kaiju altogether called Space Godzilla that came to Earth and fought the regular Godzilla. It has massive diamond looking growths coming out of it's body. Then there's an alternate universe version of Godzilla that's supposedly more like a plant than a reptile, and it's from a series of multiple anime movies.
@@theduckgoesmoo I only have a problem about that video, I think Tyrannosaurus, Tricratops, Mammoth, Pteranodon and sabretooth tiger shouldn't be in this death battle because it is about Mechagodzilla vs Dragonzord, so that's not fair for Mechagodzilla and that Japanese pilot.
This is by far my favourite death battle. Godzilla against mechagodzilla is my all time favourite movie, so watching kiryu in death battle and win was an absolute treat. The absolute zero cannon is an absolutely insane weapon, so I was definitely pretty confident in my boy winning. Not to mention, dragonzord wasn't just fighting mechagodzilla, he was fighting the king of the monsters, Godzilla.
"is he like everyone's favorite?" YES. I remember meeting Tommy AKA Jason David at Phoenix Fest (Comic Con in AZ) it was the same day someone brought real weapons. I'm still waiting for news when the next Phoenix Fest date as its keep getting delay Duck Record 52 W 36 L (W 3 In A Roll) Highest Streak: 5 Me: 18 W 16 L
After Akane dies, you're not just fighting the original king of the monsters in a robot suit, you're fighting a *pissed off* original king of the monsters in a robot suit
(8:41) “what movie is that from?” Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla (not to be confused with “Godzilla VS MechaGodzilla”.) and it’s sequel movie, Tokyo:SOS.
0:15 ok for the newbies Godzilla didn't turned into a robot Mechagodzilla was created by either aliens or humans depending on the story/era/continuity. Since their using kiryu aka Mechagodzilla 3 I'll tell you his backstory put a long story short this Mechagodzilla was created from the bones of the 1954 Godzilla to fight the second Godzilla that was attacking Japan by that point. Also the bones of the 1st Godzilla comes to life and Mechagodzilla goes on a rampage. 0:35 wrong it's Gamera. Gamora is a ultraman monster. 2:54 Tommy is brainwash by that point. 8:29 that's is Mothra cocoon. The butterfly is Mothra. 8:34 no pacific rim was inspired by Godzilla, ultraman, super sentai basically tokusatsu in general. 8:41 to show you how powerful these kaiju are. It's been a thing since it's inception back in 1954. 8:47 you weren't paying attention were you all the notes are destroyed and Dr serizawa died to kill Godzilla. The Japanese defense force can't make another oxygen destroyer. 9:53 just to clarify no they haven't. They hurt gaira the green gargantua you see on screen but never killed him. Him and his brother sanda the brown gargantua both died by a volcan eruption while fighting each other. And it most certainly didn't kill Mothra
The name of this song is Draconic Robotics and to answer your question: Yes, Tommy is everyone's favorite character. Not only has he been Mighty Morphin' Green Ranger, he was also the Mighty Morphin' White Ranger, Red Zeo Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger (Only for a short time), and the Dino Thunder Black Ranger.
The next 3 episodes are left out of the playlist: Sasuke VS Hiei (Naruto VS YuYu Hakusho) Ganondorf VS Dracula (The Legend of Zelda VS Castlevania) Mob VS Tatsumaki (Mob Psycho 100 VS One Punch Man) Also Tommy in this fight is voiced by Nicholas Andrew Louie, who previously voiced Sonic and Ben 10. I told you you’re gonna want to remember that name, and his time with DB is FAAAAAR from over
from everything you said about Power Rangers. it's all a yes. it's weird, it's wacky, we don't even know what it is half the time, but we still LOVE the crap out of it. that's why it's been going on for about 30 years. and i wouldn't be surprised if it went another 30.
@@wingedbluj1674 yeah, i really need to catch up on some Super Sentai. i know it's just fully japanese Power Rangers, but i'm sure the stories and fighting is still fun to watch.
@@pantyosashu8137 hey now, come on. sure, not every series has the best story or characters, but they still try. besides, isn't it cool seeing a bunch of old costumes remade in the newer times than the ones before?
I don’t know if it’ll ever come up but not only is power rangers originally from Japan and called Super Sentai, there’s also series that’s a bit more popular series called Kamen Rider and Oh man it is fun. Unfortunately it only got one English adaption that…wasn’t too well receipted, called Masked Rider Dragon Knight, Kamen Rider Ryuki if you’re curious. Kamen Rider is a really fun series and I recommend checking it out.
You said it in the last Death Battle involving Godzilla, "Don't doubt Godzilla." To be fair though this is Mechagodzilla (Kiryu to be more specific). Though Godzilla's spirit did take over...any who...I'm glad you finally reacted to this one *Duck,* it was the last one I truly cared about that they did (and yes that includes the one involving Broly believe it or not). There were still others that I liked later on, but not as much as this one. Also since you asked, Hiei is from an anime series called Yu Yu Hakusho and Sasuke is from the anime series Naruto/Naruto Shippuden/Boruto.
07:24 HUNDRED?! Dude, the power rangers series started in 1993 and is still going. The series it's based on, super sentai, is even older going from 1973 till now. There are currently 941 episodes of the power rangers series.
Everytime kyle calls MechaGodzilla "Basically Pacific Rim" it pisses me off This version of mecha goji came out 11 years before Pacific Rim kyle, jesus christ
10:15 Bose-Einstein condensate is about 1-2 K, if I recall correctly, but going from 2 to 0K is a bigger difference than you’d think, since it’s impossible to reach it. It would require the total leveling of the matter field to even attempt such a feat. That would literally disassociate any matter into absolute nothingness, regardless of how tough it is. If it exists, absolute zero makes it not exist.
5:23 in the original japanese source, the Thunder Megazord and Dragonzord are from completly different Super Sentai shows, but in Power Rangers is pretty much on the same universe. You can even see the footage of the fight just been repeated footage of the Super Sentai where the Dragonzord comes from.
1:41 That's Omega Ridley from the Metroid Prime series. Basically a cyborg space dragon hopped up on a radioactive mutagen. 7:21 A cash grab made by Saban Entertainment in the 90s where they would rip and redub the fighting sequences from a long running Japanese series, Super Sentai (specifically Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger). So all the footage when the Rangers are in their suits is all footage from an entirely different series, not even taking into account the different context, like how every fight suddenly takes place in Japan or how the Yellow Ranger suddenly becomes a dude. Instead of 5 ancient tribespeople and their robotic dino Guardian Beasts awakwning from suspended animation to battle their longtime nemesis Bandora, it's 5 Teenagers With Attitude(tm) being granted powers by a wizard in a tube to fight off evil. "It's basically Pacific Rim." Only in the sense that humanity built a robot to battle Kaiju threats. Mechagodzilla itself is not piloted by humans (and shounen anime bullshit) like a mech suit. Whether or not it's remotely controlled by humans, autonomous, or possessed by the spirit of another Kaiju depends on the model and writer. All other times, humanity is almost completely ineffectual against Kaiju, usually just assisting more benevolent ones like Mothra or Gamera (or occasionally Godzilla himself) at best. Gotta keep that allegory for the threat of nuclear war alive somehow, I guess.
Funny thing regarding Ghost Godzilla. The Godzilla movies are separated by different eras, and for the finale of the second era, dubbed the Heisei era (1984-1995), Japanese film company Toho considered Godzilla vs. Godzilla, or Godzilla vs. Ghost Godzilla, where the current King of the Monsters would battle the restless spirit of the 1954 Godzilla. However, Toho backed off on the idea since the last two movies had Godzilla fight against doppelgängers of him (Mechagodzilla 2 and SpaceGodzilla), and they didn’t want the films to suffer from repetition because of it. Mechagodzilla 3/Kiryu’s debut film Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla does pay some tribute to this lost film, as during the opening title, it originally reads as Godzilla X Godzilla, before adding the “Mecha” in the ladder’s name.
Death Battle called this version of Mechagodzilla the “deadliest” almost entirely just because of Absolute Zero, which is just as much of a liability for Kiryu as it is an asset. It takes ages to charge up, drains a ton of power, and if the shot misses, Kiryu’s basically screwed. Meanwhile, the two incarnations before Kiryu, from the 70’s and 90’s versions respectively, were MUCH stronger, able to bring their respective Godzilla incarnations down with relative ease. The 90’s version, Super Mechagodzilla, was so powerful, it managed to very nearly kill the single most powerful version of Godzilla ever put to film. So yeah, they chose one of the weakest incarnations of Mechagodzilla, and Dragonzord still lost. Crazy.
If I remember it correctly, in the Japanese counterpart of the Power Ranger, that magic candle is representing the life force of the green ranger himself which it did run out and he did died.
There are THREE Death Battles in a row skipped in the playlist between this one and Deadpool Vs. The Mask. Sasuke Vs. Hiei is up next, between characters from Naruto and Yu Yu Hakusho. Next is Ganondorf Vs. Dracula, which you'll probably skip since Ganondorf is the main villain of Legend of Zelda, and I know you want to avoid spoilers for those games. Finally, there's Mob Vs. Tatsumaki, from Mob Psycho 100 and One-Punch Man. So, if you plan to react to Yu Yu Hakusho and/or Mob Psycho 100, those would be battles to skip. Also missing from the playlist is the season finale, All Might Vs. Might Guy (from Naruto), and you're far enough into My Hero Academia that you wouldn't get spoiled by that episode.
Weekend at Bernies is a great set of movies. The second one lets the actor playing Bernie do more... acting since he is literally playing a dead guy. The second movie uses VooDoo magic to reanimate the dead Bernie to find buried treasure. It's a 90's movie.
The Green Ranger left an impression back in the day. Back when Power Rangers first came out, it aired after school Monday-Friday. The Green Ranger saga (Green With Evil), which saw his introduction and eventual joining the heroes, lasted an entire week. The series had never even had a two-parter before, and suddenly they were throwing out a five-parter about the show's first ever evil ranger. It was an iconic TV moment for 90's kids
fun fact: most of the suit footage on power rangers comes from a japanese franchise called super sentai. most seasons have completley different plots from the power rangers counterparts
There is 4 Deathbattle missing for the CURRENT season you are on. Which is season 6 The next one sasuke from naruto and hiei from Yu Yu hakushow and the one AFTER THAT is Tatsumaki from one punch man Vs mob from mob psycho. Then Gandorf Vs Dracula and there’s the battle AFTER DeadPool Vs the mask. Which is all might from my hero acadamia Vs might guy from naruto(you are FAR ENOUGH in the MHA series where you are GOOD TO watch all might Vs might guy where they will show NO SPOILERS in MHA
So, coming back to this and seeing the project is done for the most part... I highly recommend watching Linkara's History of Power Rangers series that he created that covers every season, especially if you want to learn more about Power Ranger lore; and I'd say its worth it, considering the series has avoided cancellation twice; two of those time being when Disney owned the rights. It's worth a watch, though they are some VERY long videos, but then again, when you have something that covers 30 years of storytelling, it's a hell of a ride.
@4:13 Favorite is an understatement. Tommy is THE legendary ranger, amongst legendary ranger. Even after becoming an adult, he was still a badass and only became even more of a badass and has the best morpher in Power Rangers history (which consists of 21 different themed series, 28 seasons and counting; from 1993-2021 onwards). Whenever the series needs a nostalgia boost for ratings, the show just speed dials Jason David Frank (the actor/martial artist) and ask him to come back to play Tommy again.
Power Rangers is a American version of a Japanese franchise called Super Sentai. If you want an introduction, then i have some videos in mind that i can recommend, if you’re interested.
got the green ranger's flute/dagger thing as a toy as a kid - my dog loved it when I found it years later in a box and played it in front of him :P (that toy was electrical and could do the same sounds just in a worth quality...) mfg Olli
You should've learnt from the previous Godzilla battle, always bet on Big G to come out on top, even the robot one. Also you keep saying this is like Pacific Rim but it's the other way round. The first Mecha-G fought Godzilla back in 1974 because by that point the only monster that could take on the big daddy monster was a robotic twin. Then he came back for round two in Revenge of MechaGodzilla the next year and that movie was the last of the original Godzilla series. So kaiju fighting robots, especially doppelgangers has been a thing for a while.
Strangely enough while this is a west versus east matchup 90% or so of the fighting footage in Power Rangers comes from Japanese shows. In this case the Dragonzord uses footage of the Guardian Beast Dragon Caesar from Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger and was controlled by the other Yamato Tribe Prince, Burai who has a grudge against his brother.
"So who wrote that?" So basically, Tommy lost his powers when the green candle burned away, because in the source material Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, his counterpart in that season, Burai, was...technically dead, and was only revived by the god Daizyujin for a limited time, and he had a candle that represented how many hours of his revived life he had left and eventually Burai meeting his end, and thus this necessitated writing Tommy off of Power Rangers without actually killing him, being a kids show and all. They had to abide by what Green Ranger footage they had, and when they ran out, that led to having it so Tommy lost his powers.
This fight was actually animated by the RWBY team and it shows. The sing is called Draconic Robots and it is one of my favorites. Also it was confirmed by the DB team (I believe, I have no sources to please either put them here if anyone can find em or correct me if I'm wrong) that both pilots survived the fight.
@@theduckgoesmoo It's true I'm pretty sure but I still can't find a darn source lol. As far as music goes it only gets better from here. You get some absolute bangers in some episodes.
According to the wiki, the 114th episode of Death Battle cast confirmed that both Akane and Tommy were supposed to live, but they were cut due to budget and time restraints. And in my headcanon they both did live.
4:01 Yeah, Tommy got a Ph.D. in paleontology, the science that studies fossils and prehistoric earth. You know, dinosaurs. 4:11 Yeah, pretty much. 7:20 The better question is "What in the world is Super Sentai?" since that franchise is the basis for Power Rangers in the west. And based on some of the clips I've seen of the series, it's basically a live-action anime. 8:27 No. That's a giant cacoon.
This is one of my favorites when it comes to the kill scene. When Mechagodzilla pulls the lance in and opens the absolute zero cannon, I can’t help but smirk and say “checkmate”. Also, don’t think Deadpool vs Mask will be right after the next one. Sausuke vs Hiei isn’t the only one that got left out of your custom playlist. There is also Ganondorf vs Dracula and Mob vs Tatsumaki.
Wiz: Japan needed a new weapon to combat Godzilla. Duck: Another oxygen destroyer. Unfortunately the only guy who can make the oxygen destroyer was Dr. Serizawa (eyepatch scientist) and he erased every trace of it including himself so no one will ever recreate it. He believes it’s existence was a threat to the world’s future even bigger than Godzilla. And he was right. Because right after the bomb did it’s job it jump started the creation of the devil in kaiju form. Thy name is Destroyah!👹
Never seen power rangers? what was your childhood man? You don't have to answer this questions I've asked you this before in the power rangers versus Voltron one at this point it's rhetorical
The next 3 episodes are missing. I know you're planning on playing Zelda so you'd skip Dracula vs Ganondorf anyways. But there's no reason for you to skip Hiei vs Sasuke or Mob vs Tatsumaki.
Power Rangers is pretty awesome once you look past the toned down edited American version and focus on the lore, comics, and even the more darker seasons. There’s a reason it’s lasted this long.
Please for the love of god, do not, DO NOT do anymore debunk videos, they're just fanboys whining that their character lost and most if not all are so poorly structured and reasoned that it proves to be a complete waste of time
Rita can also use her magic to move the moon. Not sure why they didn't bring that up in the episode because it's kind of a big thing if you're going to scale Battle Mode to her. Akane fought godzilla twice with Kiryu in the movie and stalmated the second time. The scaling of Dragonzord is so borked in this episode. I'm not even contesting the winner just that Dragonzord was disgustingly low balled.
Just as a Godzilla nerd here, the reason the whole "Bones of Godzilla" thing were used were because they were using a DNA computer. Basically the computer would use the DNA in the bones to compute things like balance and basic movements, so the pilots could just focus on the fight.

The reason the American version(s) is so campy is because the _Super Sentai_ series is about as ridiculous and they think kids wouldn't care because it's technically a superhero show.
yeah in Kyuranger (the season that the first team is based on)
the villains had fun on musical interludes where they literally marched along, singing and dancing
as far as i know its not commented on, its not brought up after the fact, it just....happens
@@mrroboshadow The primary reason why Bandora is better than Rita ;-) A lot more goofy, yes, but also more menacing at the same time. Rita is being added to the Battle for the Grid fighting game this month and even they know they needed to include some Bandora dancing.

“What in the world is Power Rangers?”
It’s not easy to explain, but basically it’s an action show that uses stock footage from a long running Japanese show: Super Sentai Rangers, which in itself is a whole new can of worms.
And it has a completely different story than Super Sentai

The real shame is that this is Tommy Oliver's second loss in DB. His first loss was in the White Tiger Zord against Gundam Epyon. It's sad because Tommy is actually really cool and often referred to in universe as the greatest ranger ever. Fact Fiend did a dive into his Ranger Wiki page to prove it.
Really unfortunate that he just gets matched up against opponents that are just outright superior.

Kiryu is also the name of the main character in the Yakuza series and he’s known as the “Dragon of Dojima.” It fits really well.

Him and his brother sanda the brown gargantua both died by a volcan eruption while fighting each other. And it most certainly didn't kill Mothra

5:23 in the original japanese source, the Thunder Megazord and Dragonzord are from completly different Super Sentai shows, but in Power Rangers is pretty much on the same universe.
"This is Pacific RIm."
Son, this was Pacific Rim when Pacific Rim was still in it's little baby robot diapers.........Still awesome, but still.
Very true I'm only familiar with pacific rim
I guess dragonzord couldn't *SCALE* up to kiryu, get it get it
😂
Never doubt the King of the Monsters. He'll always come back to bite ya. And everything in your vicinity
Crazy.

Its kinda amazing that they were able to merge scenes from an old Japanese TV series with their own scenes
I requested this, and it came out on my birthday.
I was wondering for a while why you skipped wolverine versus Raiden. I’m glad you gave an answer to that
In a short term; Power Rangers is a show that uses footage from a Japan Tv Series called Super Sentai.
The pain in this 1 video is insane
First time?
Oh also they confirmed in Twitter that the pilot for kiryu dint die she just crashed
"So who wrote that?"
So basically, Tommy lost his powers when the green candle burned away, because in the source material Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, his counterpart in that season, Burai, was...technically dead, and was only revived by the god Daizyujin for a limited time, and he had a candle that represented how many hours of his revived life he had left and eventually Burai meeting his end, and thus this necessitated writing Tommy off of Power Rangers without actually killing him, being a kids show and all. They had to abide by what Green Ranger footage they had, and when they ran out, that led to having it so Tommy lost his powers.
4:30 well at least your knife has holes in it.
There's no way....

Deadpool vs The Mask... Yeah I remember that one. Traumatizing.
Next battle is Anime/Manga vs Anime/Manga, of course there are games too, but Manga/Anime is the main source material.
At this point none of the Power Rangers Zords has ever won a Death Battle.
4:01 Yeah, Tommy got himself a doctorate in paleontology from MIT.
Which I find to not make much sense because in every season before dino thunder he was not that intelligent outside of martial arts
Wiz: Japan needed a new weapon to combat Godzilla.

Unfortunately the only guy who can make the oxygen destroyer was Dr. Serizawa (eyepatch scientist) and he erased every trace of it including himself so no one will ever recreate it. Oh, and akane's fine, by the way. they were going to show her parachuting out (and tommy teleporting away) but the scene got cut.
