Slinter gave every turtle a weapon that is counterintuitive to who they are; Leonardo, the most heroic turtle, was given two swords (literal murder weapons) to teach him that he may have to do something he may not want to and not to take battles lightly. Donatello, the scientist, was given a bo staff to force him to be creative in combat. Mikey, as I mentioned already, were given nunchucks to teach him focus. Raphael, the most aggressive turtle, was given a defensive weapon to teach him discipline and to control himself.

Goomba vs Koopa was the first episode of Death Battle I ever watched, and I'm glad that it was. If they were able to make a decent fight out of two common enemies, I knew it had to be good. Season one may not have aged well, but it's still very nostalgic.
Oh god the nostalgia from this I remembered watching Deathbattle when I was WAY TOO LONG. Great stuff per usual my dude! THAT ENDING KILLED ME THOUGH, it is way too relatable to someone who barely is able to write scripts anymore and thinks they can do some big project or whatever.
Happy that Vegeta vs. Shadow was in the top 5. That battle was the thing that introduced & had me sold on Death Battle. Also thank you for telling me what the Thor vs. Raiden battle music was. I've been looking for that theme since *FOREVER* and now I have something to buy from iTunes now.

I have not been interested in this show for a very long time because of episodes just not grabbing me and people’s behavior towards certain episodes (especially Luigi vs Tails and Tracer vs Scout) making following it not fun at all. But this did remind me that I once really did like it. Nice video man!
I felt the same for quite a while, I only got back into the show around this time last year with Archie Sonic vs Wally West. It seems that they don’t just disrespect a single character anymore and there’s no more horny. The only downside with the show was the reliance on Boomstick’s dad jokes. I recommend giving season 8 a watch. They have vastly improved. Sorry I ranted lol

There are only two episodes from Season 1 I ever revisit. Obviously Goku vs Superman because God Damn. To this day I still consider it one of the top ten episodes of the entire show. Second one is Thor vs Raiden just because I have so much nostalgia for its simplistic sprite animation and love the ridiculous overkill death. "FARWELL!!"
Looking forward to the season 2,5 and 6 videos! 4 is just kinda there, 3 and 7 are seriously underwhelming (7 especially for the Marvel/DC oversaturation). eyyyy my first death battle was number 2. personally i think the metal sonic conclusion showed that eggman made the stronger clone while wiley had the better army. which means eggman won (personally would not mind a remake of it). also i recall the stupidest arguement in the mario vs sonic comments section that said that mario could use the star rod from paper mario to wish sonic away and it sure was a youtube comment section. actually storybook sonic vs paper mario, now that would be a battle
