There are games with unlocked frame rates and most games these days will have dynamic resolution scaling which should automatically benefit. All new games going forward will benefit though. As some one who's not really interested in replaying games that's not so much of a drawback for me.
With so restrictive power it’s simply limited. Optimisation will max out the hardware. But will not achieve what a more powerful gpu can. Power is power that never changes.
@@checarlos956214 that is a console problem. All games should default to 60hz minimum and if that can't happen then offer a reasonably priced upgrade that can. Simple as that.

As an older gamer, I only usually notice medium vs high/ultra graphics differences when they are side by side comparisons. I don't need that with 30 vs 60 fps, since it is instantly noticeable to me, especially with first-person/3rd person view games. So glad to hear about most players enjoying performance mode. Once I played a game with my gf who never plays games. And I remember that I recommended switching from quality to performance mode. After that she was shocked and asked me: "Why is it called quality mode if it looks worse?" That was really mind blowing to me. She does not know anything about fps and resolution, but the 60fps looked much cleaner to her. I think that is saying a lot.

One thing I noticed is they never mentioned numbers. Those of us that watch digital foundry know most Quality modes aren’t actually 4K 90% of the time, as with Spider-Man 2. Cerney also conveniently never said we’ll be getting Quality level graphics at 60fps, only that the TARGET is 60. Also none of this even guarantees devs will even make a PS5 Pro mode that gives something like 1800p 60/120hz. Most devs might just stick a native 4K mode onto the 30fps mode or uncap the frame rate and call it a day
@@VisForVindetta uncap framerate is good for future proofing. Or we end up with RDR2 what is just 30 fps and 1080. And they even had the audacity to print ps4 pro enhanced on the box
Minimize production of the overpriced product. Increase production of the base model and sell like crazy. People on the fence have now made their decision.
I’m actually shocked to hear most players use performance mode, anecdotally it always seemed like everyone uses quality mode so it’s great to hear so many players are picking better frame rates. Maybe this will finally get developers to stop thinking 30fps is acceptable and start working towards 60fps as a minimum.
30 frames works in some games like maybe last of us 1 or witcher, it makes it easier to parry stuff and just have your eyes follow the action is abit easier since its slowed down there is good 30 and terrible 30 frames in some games, then there is also this craze of motion blur shit which reduces screen tearing but blurs everything around
Why would you be shocked? Frame rate is actually something noticeable. I struggle finding a difference between the two graphically, sitting 6-8 ft away from my TV on the couch. The one thing I notice immediately are the frame rates. Anyone with a brain uses performance mode.
@@votpavelNot true, higher frame rated equal lower response time. Less time between frames and less input lag. Higher frames actually allow you to react quicker, and more accurately. 30 is NEVER better, under any circumstance!
What I want to know. 1. Is the side plates compatible with the PS5 Slim versions or are we going to have to wait for new ones? 2. Is there a horizontal stand available/include with the PS5 Pro? From what I can tell, the vertical stand is not included. 3. Is there still 1 NVMe expandable storage slot or will there be 2? WD_BLACK SN850P has an 8TB but it's $999.99. 4. Is the PS5 Slim version of the disc drive compatible with the PS5 Pro or will there be a 'Pro' version? 5. Why didn't they include the Dual Sense Edge with the PS5 Pro? 6. Is the PS5 Pro going to be easy to clean?
What makes me aggravated about this is one. It really shows something that should be addressed but is more difficult to which is that we don't have a hardware limitation problem. We have a developer problem. Guarantee that when PlayStation 5 Pro comes out, you're still probably going to see GTA 6 4K barely hitting 30 frames a second. That's just because no matter how you keep increasing developers are always going to sacrifice everything else to make things artificially look quote pretty and that's where at the same thing where the hardware is not enough, they give enough hardware. The hardware is not enough again. But the second thing that really cheesed me off about this is it really shows in my opinion that Sony did not look at their own data. If they had noticed that all Gamers prefer performance mode, that should have told them that they would rather have a stable locked frame rate or higher frame rates than any sort of bells and whistles like Ray tracing and HDR. Meaning that what they should have done is decently increase the GPU but then increase the CPU. How maybe even put in something from Zen 3. Cuz let's put it this way and what would have really truly excited the gaming Community? Seeing Street fighter 6. Run at 1080P on PlayStation 4 Pro at 120 frames per second locked. That would have drove the entire fighting game Community completely crazy. Imagine Doom the Dark ages at a locked 120 frames per second while still looking like it's PlayStation. 5 normal version. The type of shit that excited Gamers instead Sony was like oh they're going for performance, but we really want them to do Fidelity so we're going to try to do both while barely hitting either.
They couldn't have upgraded the cpu. It would've bifurcated the ps5 lineup into 2 skus. The baseline will always be the ps5 with the zen 2. Games will target that this generation
@@Tintin_desi_billa at 4 k , cpu dosen't matter at all , even a 12 year old core i3 can do 60 fps at 4k with a good card, that's said under natvie 4k probably there won't be much gain
We already have 4k 60 or 120 fps games.... but native 4k is even for PC hard to reach. So i would say it IS a powerful maschine. But the developer skill, engine and optimization is missing. I say that Nintendo would make a Zelda in 120fps and native 4k. Or at least native 4k and 60. They implemented phiysics to all objects in the game. So completely interactive. While modern graphic games struggle in a dead world with basics... sure it only runs at 30 fps and struggles a bit here in there, but you can move so fast in all directions hundreds of meters in game with physics around the player... weather, weight, material and so on on top. On an 15w weak (limited) tegra x1 tablet. So i wouldn´t blame the hardware. I mean to be fair, like i said, you find games with 120 fps ( a lot ) or native 4k and 60. I played Persona 3 Reload and it was native 4k 60 with RT! Rise of the Ronin after updates was also running with 60 FPS in the RT Mode, more comparable with the performance mode.
@@torqq69 You can´t compare console to PC. I think people have to understand that it works different. Developer optimize games specific for the system. The PS4 from 2013 is getting new games in 2024 that look good. Even games like LoU II, God of War or Horizon... hope that makes it more clear. If you would compare that with a PC from 2013 for 400... sorry it would look like crap, if t is even possible to perform it. And keep in mind, that the PS4 was really weak with slow CPU. The PS5 at release was a very good maschine with even faster memory than most PCs (you can jump into games faster into the your savegame than on PC... skipping loading icons and so on). Developer statement was that the peak of PS5 is not even reached. Of course not. A bad optimized game will affect everything, and even a PC can´t make it a lot better if it is messed up. We have many examples.
@@Da-iken but I can compare to a certain degree, which is the same amount of cus, like 5% worse performance and same technology so yes I can compare. The CPU is a Ryzen 5 3600 at best again, same architecture, zen 2. It's getting old
I think a lot of people are forgetting a lot of console players don't have top-tier TV's or monitors and are just using standard TV's and monitors which vary between a lot of factors. But at the very minimum all displays are capable of doing 60fps hence that is something everyone can see regardless jumping from 30 to 60.
Even if you have a 4K tv which most people should have. A 4K tv cost as little as 350 at Walmart. 4K tvs have been out for 8+ years now. Most gamers don’t play on fidelity mode so they won’t understand what Sony was saying. Once you play on PC and you play these games at 4K 60fps the gaming experience is night and day different on top of ray tracing. This is why Pc gaming is actually popular. Now the real icing on the cake is if you have a 4K tv with HDR
@@JudahiamKng On a TV you get better image quality + you see more details. HDR is very important. PC gamer often play on small crappy IPS or VA Screens, not able to produce true HDR (+ it is a mess on PC with black level raise issues). More details, more realistic image overall, and a way higher dynamic range from dark to blinding bright.
@@JudahiamKng i play games like alisa which prerendered backgrounds are like 64x64 pixels? And crow crountry which is running at like 144p? I would like to see a performance mode on ps5 pro too that targets 120 fps. Cerny said that 60 fps is super smooth but it looks very blurry on a oled screen…
While that would give a smoother picture, the internal game engine would still be running at 60, so inputs would then not feel as smooth as the outputted video, surely? 🤔
@dftfire honestly it depends on the game. Generally speaking though, I turn it on when it's an option and the input lag is still minimal enough that the game feels good to play. For example I'd much rather play Space Marine 2 with VRR frame gen framerates in the 90s over getting fps fluctuations between 45 and 55 fps which is where ps5s performance mode currently stands.
Frame gen has a GPU cost, so that would only be possible for a further degradation of visuals. I think most feature forward games released after fsr 3 already have a pretty barren performance mode, so that might not look as good as you think it does in most cases .
Is it possible the CPU has been kept the same, and in turn, framerate is kept the same, so that it’s an equal Playing field across the board? Likewise for the servers hosting the online games/matches, does it not work better if everybody is polling at the same rate? Please note, I have 0.00% intentions of buying a Pro.
IF... IF GTA6 takes advantage of the Pro, it will be the sole reason I upgrade. Been a huge GTA fan the since the beginning and it's the one game I am truly excited about. Right behind that is the remaster/remake of Max Payne. Those are the only 2 games I care about at the present.
Actually the logic thing to say is the standard ps5 should run gta6 at 50fps or 60fps at best in 1080p resolution or 2k at 30fps and ps5 pro should run 2k upscaled to 4k at 60fps
Speaking my language, it'd be licensing hell tho, all the old ps3 developers would nibble the incentive to do that unfortunately, because ps5 being different hardware, the lawyers would all be licking their chops.
It looked like they arranged the presentation in just a couple of minutes, there were so many more things they could have focused on. The merge of quality and performance is great but what about a "performance+" like in uncharted 4? A stable 120fps with maybe 1440p would've be incredible to see. Some sort of "Quality+" where you have 4k with 30-40fps but with a lot of ray-tracing or even path-tracing. Comparing PSSR with XeSS and DLSS also would've been great. They could've pointed out that the plates in the slim model also works with the pro, not important for a lot of people kk but I think its a nice touch.
If 75% of players choose performance mode, they should have at least touched on enhanced framerate modes. So many of Sony's "120 fps" modes in reality only reach an unstable 90fps. I'd hope the Pro can finally let me play Ragnarok at 4K locked 120fps.
maybe with frame generatioin. Native high fps gaming requires a faster CPU and ps5 got a 5 years old lower mid-range CPU ( ryzen 3600 performance level)
30 fps was okay way back in the CRT monitor days, the incandescent light smoothed out the frames acting kinda like a natural motion interpolation. Now that we have LEDs and OLEDs, you will see every frame of 30fps and it looks terrible The same is the case with TV/movies and the 24 fps standard, try watching it on an OLED with interpolation off lol. It will be a juddery mess 😂
The reason why most players choose 60 fps mode is because the graphical difference is minimal, most pf the time it's just resolution, and maybe ray tracing, everything else is mostly the same
I'm now in the minority with a solid gaming rig that does this already (4k 60FPS). But also owning a PS5, Xbox, I personally don't think this justifies the price. Especially lacking a disc drive and stand. The margins of fidelity differences is negligible with performance modes currently on PS5/SX. GTA 6 is the only thing I COULD see it being used for. Especially when a lot of games (RD2) are capped at 30fps on purpose.
Desserts old boss suggests that this pro is really only for those who are going to do an upgrade IE selling their existing PS5 for 500 450 and using whatever they have saved to get the upgrade 😮😮😮😮
I think the problem is marketing to enthusiasts and the price of the complete set. I am an enthusiast and when I buy a PS5 Pro I don't get PT in Cyberpunk, but for some reason 60 fps in TLOW2 Then the price, which has gotten close to powerful video cards, a PC player in this case in the middle of the generation only upgrades the video card and gets many times more
outside of price a console doing 4k 60 is a good product and has a point in the here and now. Tidy image that you can see what you are doing and has a responsive frame rate across all games.
If it can actually provide 4K60 for the coming years, maybe even with some added details and effects, the price is still not low but atl ok for it. But wording like "almost fidelity" or "targeting 60FPS" make me sceptical. Even with PSSR. But time will tell. In general Im all for Sony and maybe also Microsoft in the future to atl offer premium alternatives.
i think the performance mode have a place on the ps5 pro , because getting more fps like 90 or even 120 can make the experience even smoother, i think an early ps6 for 120 fps on qualty mode is a alone a big selling point for me personally and the PS5 pro is just in the middle , like there is no point in staying in the middle.
A lot of games are going to be still bottlenecked by the zen 2 CPU for achieving 120fps I know they probably did it for backwards compatibility and ease of development between the 2 consoles so I don't expect many games will offer more than 60fps support on pro either unless they do a mode where it's unlocked and using vrr to reduce tearing still I wish Sony would support freesync my monitor doesn't support adaptive sync on the PS5 despite supporting freesync
Far better off spending a bit more on a PC with a CPU that won't bottleneck the hell out of your system. You could play at resolutions that actually make sense for the hardware at high frame rates / 90 FPS + vs. Fake 4K at an abysmal ~ 30 FPS in the 2024 / 2025. None of these consoles are remotely "optimal" for 4K, it's simply a factor of 4K TV's being the display console user's are playing on. Because of this these consoles are something of a farce with their anemic CPU's and sub-optimal configuration overall. PS5 Pro is like upgrading your PC's GPU when the CPU is THE bottleneck, utterly absurd... PS5 with a real CPU upgrade would have been Worlds better.
99% of pc gamers also play games with fake 4K as upscaling such as dlss and fsr is not only common but it’s also necessary now days even on high end pc hardware.
@@HaloinfiniteEternal Sure many are ignorantly playing at the wrong resolution for their hardware. Even the RTX 4090 is better suited as a Native 1440p GPU not 4K. People don't want to acknowledge this simply because they were short sighted and blew a bunch of $$$$ on a 4K display due to absurd hype and benchmarks of older / current at the time less demanding games. It really is laughable the amount of people I see who now think Native 1440p is somehow beneath them..They're only screwing themselves.
I got a question about this ai generating of frames -Pssr or any other dlss. In games based on targeting certain frames, like street fighter. Would the game engine react differently to those artificially generated frames?
Also how tone deaf must Sony have been to show TLOU of all games first? How many enhanced versions of TLOU have we seen since 2 launched in 2020? - PS5 Patch for 60fps (which Sony quickly removed trailers for) - TLOU Part 1 remaster that nobody asked for. - TLOU Part 2 remaster - TLOU Part 1 on PC (which launched in such a stable state, right)? Like, good lord, Sony should have stuck with games we haven’t seen enhanced at all yet (like Spider Man 2 and Astrobot, maybe)?
The thing is there will still be performance and quality modes. That’s not going to change. Of course SOME games that are already done will just merge them into one mode, but new games are definitely going to still make the quality modes to push the new system to its limits. Also, cerny himself said that it can reach “NEAR fidelity mode visuals” with 60fps…. So…… fidelity mode still needs to exist, or the ps5 would be more capable in visuals than ps5 pro.
The real question is, is the 700 price fair compared with the specs pro has. Does 700 usd PC (new as pro will be a new console and not used) can do the same as they are saying pro will?
For me it's PC and Nintendo Switch 1 (2 when it arrives) gaming. For that cost (minus a stand and optical drive and the same CPU). A very niche product.
Welcome. Been doing this since the Wii. Never had any desire to look back, especially now with the barely any first party PlayStation games that I care about. Inevitably come to PC in 6 months to a year and everything on Microsoft Side shows up PC day one.
It would make sense if the cpu was upgradeable to up the frames. Would be interesting to know if the cpu is interchangeable or not. Then we can say the real price of the ps5 pro with 120 frames for example is $ 1000. It would be the most logical upgrade if the consumer was given the choice considering its an enthusiast device. But knew that $1000 was too ridiculous upfront hence the masquerading by sony.
I was glad to hear that 75% of PS5 players choose performance for gaming. That's what mine is set to. When I play games, id much rather have a smoother experience at a bit lower fidelity, than high fidelity at a lower framerate. If your 4k visuals are kinda blurry in motion, that defeats the whole purpose of playing at 4k. That being said, i would have preferred if Sony had reached out to you guys, over CNET, for the presentation of a machine that is supposed to provide improved graphical performance over its predecessor. I do enjoy and respect the work that CNET does, but this imho, was more in the Digital Foundry wheelhouse.
they need to really market the crap out of VRR, ppl have VRR TVs now. Just improving graphics and framerates on old games isn't enough coming from a new device starting at $700 and going over $800 if you want the disk reader and the vertical stand.
Regular PS5 can run bloodborne at 4K 60fps easily but the devs and Sony simply haven’t officially patched the game to let gamers actually enjoy it at 60fps

These companies talk about AI but only for graphics and FPS not AI to improve enemies and NPCs behaviours which would be amazing. I dunno i just think graphics keep being the focus even though we hit diminishing returns HARD last gen it sad we don't see more innovation
As long as there is a 40fps 120hz mode , I'm happy with it. And ps5 renders games mostly at 1440p , so i got a 1440p 170hz monitor instead of 4k 120hz monitor
I still remember the up to 8K 120fps marketing for the base PS5, this is just going to be more of that most likely and we will get 30fps GTA 6 on PS5 Pro.
All I want to know is what games actually going to use the extra features and power. I’m afraid we have to wait on developers to enable it in a patch. And we all know how fast that is going to happen

I know I am in the minority, but the only reason I upgraded PS4 to PS4 pro was VR. I am all in on GT7 VR, with a full sim rig, and I would only consider a PS5 pro if there is significant improvement for PSVR2. Games already look good enough on PS5, graphics have reached the point of diminishing returns. But PSVR2 could use a lot of graphical fidelity improvement.

Exactly, this generation was nothing more than a cycle refresh of last gen. Both Sony and Microsoft let down the gamers and this Ps5 pro is an absolute disgrace to Sony gamers
They could’ve done a better job showing off PSSR and RT. It looks like that’s their main selling point and the main focus of the Pro. Hardware wise doesn’t seem like a major upgrade
💯 🤔🤔 I’m just worried the Pro won’t have a Quality mode & a performance mode option no more. Obviously they can do much more in the performance mode now bc of the advanced GPU, but it’s the same for a Fidelity mode. They can push the ray tracing to the absolute max in Fidelity mode. I don’t want the Pro to have a 1 Size Fits All option only. And the player has no choice no more.
I will buy the Pro and get 1TB more ssd, and 60FPS and quality Mode, hopefully 120FPS sometimes and improve raytracing. But I also think you need a new TV, just mobed from a 2020 LG C7 to the Panasonic z90a, massive upgrade I did not expect. But the good news: nobody needs to buy the PS5 Pro, all games will run on PS5, nobody gets excluded. We gamers can choose and it is about this. No disruption, we play together
Probably won't be able to do that as the CPU is still the same. Yeah with a better gpu it will produce slightly more frames but it's the cpu rendering frames
Isn't the PS5 Pro 60CU of RDNA3 = 7800 XT but with a 250mhz downclock (2.18ghz vs 2.430 ghz). I'm guessing the 45% rendering is due to the CPU bottlenecking. There's also the RT which is using RDNA4 tech. A proper comparison PC spec would likely be a 3700x paired with a 4070 Super or regular 4070 since the GPU is downclocked?
I do not care about better ray tracing what I want is to get valued for my existing Xbox series x and ps5 and then I would consider upgrading any of the two !! I believe this is fair ... Thank you for the great video and enjoy gaming !
In they reveal they showed TLOU2 running at 4k 60 only on the pro. Did Sony really imply that the base PS5 isn't powerful enough to run PS4 games at 4k 60 fps?
Man you console gamers have no grasp of different settings and the scaling in individual game can do. Minecraft can take down pcs that are more powerful than the PlayStation 4 or PS5.... I swear. I hope some of you inherit common sense soon enough
TLOU2 got a “remaster” on PS5, 4k 30fps, 1440p 60fps, slightly better graphics than PS4 Pro. So they’ve basically explicitly said it isn’t. But again, it’s not the PS4 version, it’s the PS4 Pro and even a bit better.
I Recently Played through Alan Wake 2 on my PC with a 4090 and 7800X3D and it was a completely different and immersive experience than it was when I played it on my PlayStation 5. and a lot of that is due to the tracing.
i was expecting 32k, 1000fps, 128bit colour, neural connection joysticks, 100 disk multi changer blueray drive, 500 terabyte flash drive and a cf card readers. i was a little disappointed.
I just bought Warhammer Space Marine 2, and its performance mode is so blurry. Playing at 30 FPS feels unbearable, so I prefer playing the first Space Marine locked at 4K/60 over Space Marine 2. I’ll wait to see if the PS5 Pro can run it at 60 FPS, but I’m shelving the game now.
The PS5 Pro is going to sell much less than the PS4 Pro just on the fact that it will cost $800 for anyone with a large PS4/PS5 physical library of games. $800 is what they'll have to spend to add on a disk drive (that should've been there at the $700 base price). And all for what? To play mostly PS4 games with a few PS5 exclusives? Sony has learned nothing from their pricing of the PSVR 2 and their lack of support for said device. Also, did everyone already forget that there is a f*cking crisis when it comes to producing next-gen AAA games? Did we already forget that those will be hard to produce due to how expensive they are? And how hard it is to make a profit? Especially on a platform like the PS5 with a user base that can barely justify such games?
It will definitely sell out quickly on September 26, and probably the 2nd batch as well. Nobody knows long term how it will sell. Sony can convince a lot of gamers on the fence if a few big exclusives get announced
This is really capturing the pulse of gamers. The PS4 generation was one of the best in console gaming history. I've been there since before the NES, and have never seen the amount of groundbreaking games in one generation. It just highlights how empty the PS5 generation is in relative comparison.
All the gaming influencers have taken to their pitch forks on PS5 Pro, we will figure out what this really means during the state of play later this month. It's a good chance we will see more footage of new titles running on it and see what it's capable of
Plus a few of those games are also on PC. They should've showcased games like FF7 Rebirth that is both PS5 only atm and runs below 1080p in performance mode.

Looks like TH-cam should work on their own fidelity and performance modes
I’m actually shocked to hear most players use performance mode, anecdotally it always seemed like everyone uses quality mode so it’s great to hear so many players are picking better frame rates. Maybe this will finally get developers to stop thinking 30fps is acceptable and start working towards 60fps as a minimum.
30 frames works in some games like maybe last of us 1 or witcher, it makes it easier to parry stuff and just have your eyes follow the action is abit easier since its slowed down
there is good 30 and terrible 30 frames in some games, then there is also this craze of motion blur shit which reduces screen tearing but blurs everything around
Once you experience 60fps it's almost impossible to play at 30 for myself atleast
Why would you be shocked? Frame rate is actually something noticeable. I struggle finding a difference between the two graphically, sitting 6-8 ft away from my TV on the couch. The one thing I notice immediately are the frame rates. Anyone with a brain uses performance mode.

They should team up with Intel and introduce Super Enhanced XeSS Y-Axis, or SEXYASS for short
This was an excellent video, lads
And at least show off some new games that really take advantage of the mix n match if thats what they want to make. and FFS INCLUDE THE STAND..
If PS5 was the beast that people say it was, it should have already been able to play resolution mode at 60 fps.
this
We already have 4k 60 or 120 fps games.... but native 4k is even for PC hard to reach.
As powerful as much you consider a 6700 non XT powerful. So Midrange.. @@Da-iken

I would like to see a performance mode on ps5 pro too that targets 120 fps. Cerny said that 60 fps is super smooth but it looks very blurry on a oled screen…
What I want is higher performance modes. I want more 120 fps modes across all games via frame gen (since the cpu is the same).
I think most feature forward games released after fsr 3 already have a pretty barren performance mode, so that might not look as good as you think it does in most cases .
i would too but my tv only does 60HZ so extra FPS is useless since the x80k wont produce it
Do you see visual difference between 60 and 120?
Is it possible the CPU has been kept the same, and in turn, framerate is kept the same, so that it’s an equal
Playing field across the board?
All that they had to do to sell it like hotcakes was to make it backwards compatible with the PS3 while benefitting from the AI upscaler
You will definitely be able to play Ragnarok at 4K 120fps.

30 fps was okay way back in the CRT monitor days, the incandescent light smoothed out the frames acting kinda like a natural motion interpolation. Now that we have LEDs and OLEDs, you will see every frame of 30fps and it looks terrible
The same is the case with TV/movies and the 24 fps standard, try watching it on an OLED with interpolation off lol. It will be a juddery mess 😂
Dude you don't even know how a CRT works.......the only juddery mess here is your comments
@@WilmanYepez It has nothing to do with CRT technology, it's the incandescent light vs LED light in motion. But please elaborate

I’m curious , if they can get a 4K fidelity 60 fps then can’t they get a performance mode at 120fps ?
As long as there is a 40fps 120hz mode , I'm happy with it. And ps5 renders games mostly at 1440p , so i got a 1440p 170hz monitor instead of 4k 120hz monitor
I still remember the up to 8K 120fps marketing for the base PS5, this is just going to be more of that most likely and we will get 30fps GTA 6 on PS5 Pro.
All I want to know is what games actually going to use the extra features and power. I’m afraid we have to wait on developers to enable it in a patch. And we all know how fast that is going to happen
that’s all players ever wanted 60fps + tbh ps5 pro should be targeting 120fps …
I hope major PS4 games will be upgraded too
Like Arkham Knight or Nathan Drake Collection
I'm watching this video in 720p and the quality is still really good tbh
I only play quality mode. Cant stand playing a game, knowing i purpsely chose worse graphics. So the Pro will be ideal for me. I finally get the increased framerate knowing im not missing out lol. Lack of drive sucks though
I can't even still tell the difference between 30 and 60fps
@@bobhawkins9598 lol same sometimes. Trouble I have if I see it in 60fps by accident then go back to 30fps it feels like a sideshow. Which I don't like as I played 30fps since the early 90s and been perfectly fine with it lol
@@Etheral101 yeah it’s not too often I choose performance mode. The first year or 2 seemed like a great trade off between graphics and performance but lately it’s seemed that graphics are taking too big of a hit to achieve 60fps
perf mode graphics are usually flat as hell, its very noticeable. 30 fps i always get used to it after playing for a while and dont even notice anymore. i dont have a great TV and console only to play with dogwater graphics. 30 fps and great graphics over 60 fps dogwater, what does it matter if it runs smooth when it looks like crap lmao
I'd like to see an improvement to Metro Exodus because it was already running 60 frames with only ray tracing. So to see better ray tracing at a higher resolution or setting would be great.
But PSVR2 could use a lot of graphical fidelity improvement.
i think the price point is there to get people ready for the next gen consoles....
theyre marketing the ps5 pro exactly how they marketed the ps5 its like oh ps5 wasnt as powerful or well optimized to do what we promised so heres the version thats better but still falls short of what we promised from the ps5 to begin with and yeah its $700 with a year or 2 left in this gens life cycle
Exactly, this generation was nothing more than a cycle refresh of last gen. Both Sony and Microsoft let down the gamers and this Ps5 pro is an absolute disgrace to Sony gamers
I was, too, while watching the presentation, wondering why on warth they didn't show comparissons, numbers and graphs the way DF does!?
They could’ve done a better job showing off PSSR and RT. It looks like that’s their main selling point and the main focus of the Pro. Hardware wise doesn’t seem like a major upgrade
I have ZERO faith that the PS5 pro will do fidelity mode at stable 60fps. No chance!
It's targeting it
Well I've just watched cnet and it was doing it, even ran GT in 8k
Maybe with the PSSR.
It will
the gpu have 2x the compute units of the ps5, and what they gonna do is most likely using this Ai thing to hit the 60 fps target
Ah yes we pay together 😂😂
We'll just have to wait and see how it plays for real
The pro will have both a fidelity mode and performance mode, just like the base console smdh
Here’s an idea: keep performance mode as is graphics wise but target 120fps instead of 60.
The remastered at 4k60 not the base game
Man you console gamers have no grasp of different settings and the scaling in individual game can do. Minecraft can take down pcs that are more powerful than the PlayStation 4 or PS5.... I swear. I hope some of you inherit common sense soon enough
TLOU2 got a “remaster” on PS5, 4k 30fps, 1440p 60fps, slightly better graphics than PS4 Pro. So they’ve basically explicitly said it isn’t. But again, it’s not the PS4 version, it’s the PS4 Pro and even a bit better.
Well yeah, the PS4 is 1080p 30fps
You’re talking about 4 times the resolution and 2 times the fps, the ps5 is only like 4 times stronger than a ps4
@berealbud2963 You got scammed if your $700 PC is struggling with vanilla minecraft.
I Recently Played through Alan Wake 2 on my PC with a 4090 and 7800X3D and it was a completely different and immersive experience than it was when I played it on my PlayStation 5. and a lot of that is due to the tracing.
I can't wait for PS5 Pro (RDNA 3) vs RX 7700 XT (RDNA 3). 😂
i was expecting 32k, 1000fps, 128bit colour, neural connection joysticks, 100 disk multi changer blueray drive, 500 terabyte flash drive and a cf card readers. i was a little disappointed.
Well, there be a difference with FPS games like call of duty or Apex in the 120 mode 🤔
Sony can convince a lot of gamers on the fence if a few big exclusives get announced
i was thinking what games i played and its mostly mediocre crap, the most fun i been having is playing EDF 6.....which looks like a ps2 game.....
This is really capturing the pulse of gamers. The PS4 generation was one of the best in console gaming history. I've been there since before the NES, and have never seen the amount of groundbreaking games in one generation.
It just highlights how empty the PS5 generation is in relative comparison.
@@JL-nb1yc huh? PS4 is the 2nd worst PS generation 2>1>3>4>5
better to save this money for ps6 when it comes out in 3 years. Imagine you buy this console for 800euro and then you get gta 6 30fps
what pissed me off is that they gave exclusive coverage to CNET and it was barebones coverage(oh it looks smooth)... like common sony.
All the gaming influencers have taken to their pitch forks on PS5 Pro, we will figure out what this really means during the state of play later this month. It's a good chance we will see more footage of new titles running on it and see what it's capable of
Almost everyone played those 4 games. No one will buy the pro just to play tlou re re re re re re re master!!
Plus a few of those games are also on PC. They should've showcased games like FF7 Rebirth that is both PS5 only atm and runs below 1080p in performance mode.
We still have about 4 more years of this generation, especially if it turns out games like GTA 6 will have higher FPS or resolution on PS5 Pro.
If they were selling it with the stand and a pack in game thats new and compliments the system I could see the price being applauded by many. But its not. Its a rip off.
I will buy 👍
i dont want to play woke shit which is last of us 2 or horizon, dont care much about ratchet and clank, dont care about spider man, maybe try demons souls but i already played it alot when i first got ps5 so.....
