    I’m a LPN in TN and your absolutely right about making the money. I made 85k this year because I negotiated my pay and I work at different facilities. These facilities were always short so they always offer bonuses, especially when they are desperate for help. LPNs most definitely can make good money, but I always work smart and not hard. Love your video.

    I'm an lvn and making $145,000 per year in California. No joke. Before when I worked in SNF i wouldn't do overtime, instead I worked per diem for home health agency which is about the same but more money and more easier less stress full. I got paid $60 per visit i make ez money. I was making $42/hr in SNF and doing visits with home health. My take home would be around $3-4k per paycheck. I left SNF. I work as a regional nurse now for California. Max i can make is $160,000/yr.

    im making 100k as an lvn at a small town in texas so the cost of living is super low. my base pay is $30+, but we get like an extra $4.70 an hour up to 40hours a week for health stuff, we also receive up to 8hours extra for any federal holidays. We have quarterly and christmas bonuses. Night and weekend differential. Our schedule is 12hour shifts so 3 shifts on the first week and 4 on the 2nd week so you basically have a built in overtime on that long week. Our OT rates also increase the more OT hours you do and we get $300 critical staffing bonus for each overtime shift we pick up. I barely pick up any OT at the moment (once a month average), but if if try i can easily make upto 130-140k. We have one RN who can work 1 month in a row, but they ended up forcing her to take breaks. she still does overtime, but she cleared like 200k+ last year.

    LPN 10 plus years . I’ve worked in a few states including Hawaii . My experience has varied incredible. Only jobs I every made more than $45-50,000 per year was working for a travel assignment for a facility that was so short staff I was literally working double for that double pay . Or working in a nursing home as a staff nurse mandated night after night and their is not a dam thing you can do about it. I’ve turned several instances of being mandated over to that states labor bored but the laws are very weak.
    My advise is to settle for a nursing job that isn’t so mentally and physically exhausting that you do t have time to spend that money until your to fuck n old to enjoy it.

    Help😩 I’m a 10 year lpn graduated in 2011 & passed my Nclx first try & started working ...(I recently took a break when c-ovid hit & because of burn out) & just came back to work only being offered 25/hr for private duty trach/vent .. I feel Like I am definitely worth more and wish I hadn’t agreed to the job ...I had a jail offer me almost 80,000 a year even though it was a little drive!! am I over reacting!?

    • @OdonutzLive
      @OdonutzLive  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You're definitely NOT overreacting. 25 an hour to handle trach care is insane. Try negotiating your pay with HR and if they say no there's always another job willing to pay the price!

    how did you go about getting these certifications? like was there a site?

    • @OdonutzLive
      @OdonutzLive  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi yes there is a site. First ask your facility if they have specific organizations they accept certifications from. Red Cross offers certifications for BLS & etc, American Heart Association offers a bunch of certifications & If your going for peds related specialties American academy of Pediatrics offers certifications too!

    It's not enough to get your BLS license either. You have to constantly go over the process ( and also rehearse a simulation) of what to do in a CPR situation, because you will forget the steps and the proper techniques of the procedure.

    As an LPN how would you go into a specialty? (Ex: midwife) Would that require more school?

    • @OdonutzLive
      @OdonutzLive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not at all! Usually in NY you can get hired within any specialty at a specific facility/ office and they’ll just provide you with additional training. For example, you can work in a dermatologist office as an LPN without any additional schooling the actual office will just train you!

    In some smaller cities the pay is just lower. Not saying it’s fair, just saying it is what it is. Some facilities/companies (LTC and HHC) don’t care
