  • In this video I will FINALLY transfer my prized String of Turtles cuttings from sphagnum moss into soil! They have been propagating in tray of moss for two and a half weeks.
    In my last SOT video I had planned to wait till I got back from a 10 day vacation, but I feared they may start to rot or even dry up while I was gone!😅
    So I made the decision to transfer them to soil right before I left for vacation in the hopes this would be a better situation to leave them in unattended!😁😅😅😅🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

    A good trick would be to cut node cuts and pant each little turtle so that each root gets into the soil. Amd you will get more plants from doing it that way. Ty for the video

    I’m the same way. It makes me so nervous to report any plant.

    I put my string turtles in a greenhouse container tote hired the humidity to 80% and ambient temperature to 90 like they would be in Brazil the humidity helps pump up the turtle leaves

    What soil did you use? Was it a premix or your own mix?

    I think they were getting brown cause they were drying out? It’s either to dry or to moist... I’m hoping my prop works!!!

    Any updates? It's been 3 weeks...did they take to soil? Just asking for a friend who is also attempting her first prop of SOT. 🙄😉

    I tried this and I am getting mold/algae all over my string of turtles and spaghum moss. Is there a reason why?

    • @juliangalan7127
      @juliangalan7127 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s not mold, it’s algae! And it is completely normal!! When the dried moss is in a humid environment, it rehydrates and comes back to life. The green algae you see is the moss growing again! Nothing to worry!

      You have to let the plant dry out completely before re-watering it
