My puppy is so incredibly smart she can learn a trick in a day but sometimes she doesn't like to listen lol. She is super hyper and will follow me into every room in the house which is super cute. She loves to chew more than any other dog I've owned so strong bones and toys are a must. She is also super sassy and loves to talk back to me when I talk to her. In all I doubt anyone would ever regret getting one, I love mine so much I can't even express how happy I am to have her. Get one!!

Please be careful at dog parks! There are so many crazy people with dangerous breeds. It can be a great experience (and usually is), but I've had to pull my beloved, well-behaved collie from the clutches of a tweaker's pit bull before. I have seen more dog fights, people fights, and dog-people fights than I care to recall. I think there are safer ways to help socialize and exercise your furry family member, although it's more challenging to do both outside of dog parks. If you have DP experience then, you already know what to look out for.

We now have our Bernedoodle for over a year now. He’s been an incredibly loyal, affectionate and playful dog. He gets along great with our other pets, as well as with our 3yr old grandson. Took a bit to get him housebroken but he ultimately got it and has not had an accident in a long time. He was a little mouthy as it seems is one of their traits but as he has gotten older, it has lessened. Amazing dog that I highly recommend for your family.

mine is incredibly stubborn, very smart but uses his smarts in the wrong ways (sees we are putting our shoes on and rushes over to the other shoe and run away with it) but I can always get his attention if I raise my voice, but he is still a puppy. Really the biggest con of having a Berna doodle is taking care of the puppy, the older version of it listens and doesn't play as much. get him a pair of toys, 2 of the same things because if you grab one and play with it he goes to grab the next one and play with it aswell.

We have a now 7 month old F1 Standard Tri-colored sable Bernedoodle and she is a joy. She was potty trained within two weeks and has been relatively easy to train, however as with many breeds when they reach teenage years they can act like they’ve forgotten their training so super important to keep on with all commands and training to reinforce. We started with “come” and potty training when we first brought her home and then built on that. She now knows places on command like kennel and bed. She rings a bell to go out. The hardest thing to teach is impulse control because of their goofy and playful nature but with every day training on “leave it” whether it’s the cat who she’s barking at or another dog on a walk, she’s getting better and better and reacting less all the time. Hopefully by the time she’s a year old she will remain calm in all situations. The best thing is to constantly expose them to new surroundings and situations, kids on bikes, strollers, farmers markets, all types of activities.

We have 2 Bernadoodles. One of the best dogs I have ever owned. Super easy to train but have a stubborn streak. Once you figure that out and the dog realizes your the Alpha then things go really well. I highly recommend these dogs to anyone who asks.
If looking for new pups do your home work in the breeder. Parents should be AKC registered and verify the records. There are some willy nilly breeders out there that are looking to score big money selling puppies.
The breeder is everything when it comes to this cross bred.

I had a pomchi before and he was amazing but not very affectionate but quick at learning. I recently got a mini Bernedoodle he’s 3 months now and I can agree with the comments he can be stubborn, he knows where to go potty but sometimes chooses to pee on the floor, it’s been about 3 weeks of intense training on the pee pads. I can tell he is smart but it will just take time for him to listen. He is loving and super sweet but needy and always wants to be with me, everywhere I walk he’s right behind me. I love him so much but if ur not gonna be home much this isn’t the dog for you. I recommend highly!

this is not a breed. It’s a mix breed. It’s not worth a damn thing. The prices are a joke and the parents of these dogs are NOT quality dogs. They are two pet quality dogs bred together. Because not a single of us reputable breeders would ever breed our dogs to poodles. It’s a cheapening of our breed. Period. A breed we spend years and years only breeding for the betterment of the breed and ALWAYS show our dogs.
Don’t let the “health tests fool you”. If these doodles even have “healthy” parents it doesn’t mean anything. This is a mixed breed not a purebred.
They are not trendy or cool. You simply have a mix breed dog produced for no reason. Other than money, which is gross.
Get a Bernese Mtn dog. Go to the BMDCA and find a real reputable real breeder. Berners are wonderful dogs.

I got my female Bernedoodle with an ex. She's a large bernedoodle (about 80 pounds) who has a purebred Bernese mom and bernedoodle dad. She sheds but is manageable with regular brushing. After my ex and I split I took her with me to an apartment. She adjusted well and is so content and happy living in this space (she was living in a house and yard before), although I do hope to have a house soon with a big yard because she needs more freedom. I take her to the dog park regularly and she is so happy with anything, especially car rides. I can't say enough how much of a blessing she has been in my life. Very goofy, loves toys, butt rubs, affectionate communication, and is always by my side. She's my swimming and hiking buddy in the summer months. She has always been so gentle with children and other animals. I truly can't recommend a Bernedoodle enough!
My only disclaimers would be that she took a good while to house train as a puppy and can be a little stubborn at times. Also, very strong and a bit of a klutz.

We have a Bernedoodle and adore him, but I will agree he is very smart, but also very headstrong. I taught him to sit, shake and lay down in one day, but potty training has been another story. He gets it, but is lazy and HATES the what so will decide it’s not worth and pee in the floor when going out doesn’t appeal to him. Lol We are working with him using more treats that he only gets for going to potty outside and there’s been some improvement. I hope this is helpful.

He loves our family hates being alone. On my channel i have a 2-3 month review of him but i will be posting a 1 year Bernedoodle update soon. But he is very interesting breed. Every time we walk him he gets sooooo much love from everyone and he loves it (although every now and then he barks at strangers very well but its like he knows something we dont) but other than that he is all bark and no bite. My breeder who I have gotten Meliodas from is a special breeder, in the fact they work with Service Dog Facility and Originzations and place the best of their litter with them to make a difference for people like me. My Meliodas is this breed and will be learning to alert me to Hypoglycemia and Hypokalemia and also help me with adventures outside of home because I suffer from CPTSD Complex Post Traumatic Stress Anxiety Disorder as a Survivor. My dogs at home are EMS and Medical Task Trained to help me at home with my Hypoglycemia and also help with night Terrors and Panic Anxiety. The Atlas Organization recommended a BerniesDoodle or an AusieDoodle because of my CPTSD and Medical Condition. During an Hypoglycemia Hypoklimea medical issue or Anxiety Panic Attack I have moderate to sudden severe symptoms such as Dizzy Vertigo Spells, Brain Fog and Heart Irregularty. My coordination and balance become unstable and that's where my BerniesDoodle comes into help me balance and help me to ground or to somewhere safe to sit, the dog will pick up on my serotonin levels and guide me out of stress trigger areas when I freeze up from anxiety, he will give deep pressure therapy and bring me medicine or a body armor based on what's happening. They make a great service dog, so I have absolutely no reason you won't bring up that they can become a Service Dog.

She can be stubborn at times, but we enrolled her in puppy training class at petsmart and she wasn't difficult to train at all (she ended up being the smartest and best behaved in the class!) She is non-shedding and gets groomed every 8 weeks to an easy maintenance 1/2" so only needs to be brushed every 1-2 weeks. If they're not recommended for 1st time owners as you suggest, I will say that THAT rests a lot on the 1st time owners, as 1st time OWNERS haven't necessarily researched what all is involved when getting a dog, i.e. training, commitment, etc. Many just get a dog because they're infatuated with PUPPIES saying things like, "Isn't he so cute", etc.

I’m looking into getting one but what do y’all think, would one make a good Service Dog?
I’m an Epileptic and he would be a seizure response dog. If I show signs of having a seizure the dog will have been trained to roll me onto my side and lay behind me to keep me there. And to go get someone if I am alone in public during one or to bark to let my husband know I’m having one. After it’s over he is gonna need to stick to me until I wake up then let me cling to him for a bit while I calm down. (I freak out and cry when I wake up from one). And to top it all off he will be next to me for the rest of his life. Vacations, doctor appointments, dining experiences, grocery store, etc
It is actually illegal to separate a service Dog and their human. Did y’all know that?
I was kinda hoping that the breed’s loyalty and love for their human will help out with that last part the most.

Wrong for a BerniesDoodle that will go on through Specialty Breeders that works with Service Dog Organizations look at $16,500and not including the basic puppy training where they start to coordinate the service dog training basics such as good citizenship in and that's additional $7,000+ for four weeks of the training. Depending on the Service Dog Facility or Organization you go with the puppy has the specific Service Dog training starting between 1yrs -2yrs. It can can take up to three years depending on what the dogs Service Dog skills are required. Online and Private training is best way to go if you continuesly run into dead ends with Service Dog Facility. I'm going through Atlas Organization and they give you the best candidate breeds for a Service Dog for the would be handler and then the best trustworthy breeders.

this is not a breed.

@@deetran916 hmm. Hard to say. He rarely barks, which is great. In his first year, he couldn't distinguish between me or the neighbor coming home. So he'd bark at both. Now he barks only when it's our home. He also learned the difference between play fight vs. real fight. Since I don't get into fights, I had to fake a fight just to teach him. He LOVES play fights, but not the other kind. So he's not a guard dog, but a great house alarm. And he will bite if my family is in danger (or use bite inhibition in a play fight).
I train him on this about 2 to 3x per year. I also get my wife and kids involved so my dog understands how we each communicate danger. I once faked a real fight with my son, and he realy bit me. I couldn't believe it but was glad. No hesitation. But later that day, my son and I play fight, and my dog played with us.
I don't know how much of this is my doing vs. my dog's personal traits. I'm a first time dog owner. I did read a lot, and maybe I'm just good at training. But I could tell you that part of me will die when he dies later in life. He's only 2 1/2 years old. He's like my son.
