I have had 6 dogs in my life all golden doodles or normal poodles beside one Berna doodle, and normally I say this to all dogs, There body is big but there brain is not so make sure if you lose to a dog its by strength not smarts. however for Berna doodles, it doesn't go that way, the yare very smart, and they don't always use that smart for good but they have a mighty fine brain up there. My Berna Doodle is always wanting attention, but when we leave for eating out or shopping he sees us putting our shoes on and quickly steals one and runs away. So Berna doodles are big strong dogs and very smart ones too. I highly recommend if you are looking for a challenge
We adopted a standard bernedoodle. They’re incredible dogs. He loves our grandkids, and is very intelligent. I had him potty trained in 4 days when we brought him home at 8 weeks old. By 9 weeks old he was sitting, laying, and learned to leave it when he did something he wasn’t supposed to. If you’re looking at getting one. I highly recommend it. He loves our cat and our other dog. Their dedication towards you is incredible. BEST DOG EVER!!
@@rotor-head We used Positive Reinforcement. He really likes to please and loves when we praise him! At 8 weeks old I took him outside and said go potty every hour for 3 days straight. And I would get excited when he went. After 3 days he would whine by the door. He would even try to pee just to see me get excited and praise him. Treats is what we would use for sit, lay down, stay, spin etc. How old is your bernedoodle?
@@jefflindy8228 He 10 weeks old and l use the same technique but he is very happy to pee in the house while walking by my side . Thanks for your insight. Bill
Is it too much to expect my 6 mo old Bernedoodle to not get things off my counters. I’ve tried and tried telling her no stay down but nothing seems to work.
I have one and he's the best dog I've ever had. Smart fast and a lover.
We just picked up our Cosmo this evening! He's a standard, almost 4 months....a huge pup!!!! The sweetest pup ever!

What was your training technique for such success? Did you use the divert technique or discipline ?

Bernedoodles will protect you when you are sick and they are very friendly with children.

It's not just the poodle parent they can take after. A puppy can inherit more Berner traits, including their giant size.
I have a multigenerational berniedoddle, parents 40 and 45 lbs. At 11 months he is 60 lbs, not fat, and still growing🙀
Do the st berndoodle

To mix such a beautiful dog with a poodle should be illegal. Same goes with labs and retrievers but the Berner is the ultimate travesty
