Hmm... That Samsung Notes update that you mention in the beginning to change the color of screen off notes isn't available to me. I'm in the U.S. on Samsung Notes version 2.3.02.2.

Damn, you actually tested framerates in games, thumbs up! *This* is how you do a real life performance test.
I've seen too many TH-camrs doing these so called "speed tests" where they just open and close a bunch of games and other apps to see which phone does it faster, without realizing they aren't testing neither the CPU or GPU, but rather they are doing an I/O test, and it's not even an accurate test at that.
I always thought your reviews are the best and most detailed ones on TH-cam, but somehow you managed to solidify my opinion even further. Amazing job Erica!
I have never understood doing those speed tests. Yeah, it’s always funny to see people thinking i/o is cpu or gpu. Thank you. I spent endless hours getting those frame rates but finally found some interesting behavior I could reproduce.

Exactly. Most of them even said they don't use the S Pen that much and they don't mention much of its features. What's the point if you're not part of the targeted market?

I totally agree. I was happy to see that she recorded the average framerates in games to see how real life performance actually is, instead of doing those so called "performance tests" where some TH-camrs just open and close a bunch of apps with a timer (I'm looking at you Super Saf).
Those kinds of tests do not reflect how the GPU or CPU performs at all, it mostly comes down to how fast the phone can fetch data from the internal storage to RAM (I/O speeds), and even at that those tests are flawed, because we have no idea what data the phones have catched previously.
Erica does detailed tests and speaks about how it's been using the phones on day to day basis from her own experience. Her reviews are actually useful.

You're right. My wife has S9 plus, I have Note9, and generally unless you use the sPen (I do for my work, a lot!) there's no reason to be jealous of the Note9. Just wait to be jealous of the S10. 😉

@@MrWalker1000 That's true, but only for those who don't need or use the sPen. For me it's a work tool, and is a very valuable resource to have in my engineering business, but for most people it might not be necessary and the S9 plus is equally as good. No sPen would be a problem for me, but not for my wife who doesn't use it. It's a matter of individual requirements.

Can I ask a question about the camera please? I found the S9+ zoomed in/cropped the shot when taking video. My wife has the LG V30+ & it doesn't d that. Do you find the Note 9 crops video?

Erica, does it work if you connect thumb drive (with usb type-c) directly to Note 9? It worked well on Note 8, but not on my Note 9. On my Note 9 it works only with the dongle, and only if you connect dongle first and then thumb drive.

Question about LastPass, does it work with PlayStation Network account on PS4?
Dear Erica,
I have the 512 GB Note 9 ,just wanted to know if I could use a Hybrid Sim adapter as I travel a lot and need to use Dual Sims, I have to each time insert a second Sim to do that I will have to open the Sim tray at least 8 times a month, worried may damage the tray with the ejection pin, please advise if it would be safe to use on my phone .
