Hi Erica.. I just bought an unlocked note 9 from best buy but I noticed that when making calls, it switched from LTE to H. It doesn't have VoLTE either. My carrier is AT&T. Any thoughts on how I would be able to get this enabled? Or have you heard of anything like this?
@@robertmzs I noticed same thing about the volte, there seems to be nowhere to be activated

you can tell Erica is a note enthusiast. Other TH-camrs dont really look into the uses of the S-Pen, they just mention features and move on. They dont seem to use the S-Pen in real life applications. It's refreshing to see full reviews done with passion.
Really her reviews are the best. Spens aside. She really does try an do every phone the justice its due
Yep. Most just regurgitate the same bullet point list of specs then give a 30 sec opinion at the end.
She focuses on the technological aspect. Hence her name I think.
I agree. I looked all over for a review that talks about it as that seems the most important feature but most just seem to gloss over it with technical info. In a review I want personal experience and opinions like this, not just a bunch of facts.
Agreed. Ever seen anyone else cover dark clipping in amoled displays? I haven't. Her detail is off the charts and I often praise her for if.
This video has been a labor of love and a lot of time went into testing and analysis. Part 2 will be along soon. Oh and my notes don't have the setting to save the notes as black under Samsung Notes. Not sure which versions get that.
Love the Zelda background. Finally got a switch and I can't stop playing breath of the wild.

Yes, I appreciate the detailed practical review on the S-Pen functionality, which is why I bought Note 8 last year. Note 9 has made what was already good to even better.

Great info. I'm becoming more and more disillusioned with most TH-cam tech channels, as I see evidence of some of them being influenced by what they get from the company.....and others trying intentionally to be outrageous in supporting one company while mocking the competition. Your channel is one of about 3 that I still trust. The others are Mr. Mobile and Flossy Carter. By the way, the info about dark scenes in movies on Samsung devices was enlightening to me. Before now, I thought I was nuts to think that Amazon's cheap tablets were more enjoyable for watching movies with lots of dark scenes.....but now I see why.

Insert spen and reset it to get color from different spen.
Also newer update allows darker yellow color for your notes which is more readable.

Erica you have small hands. I wasn't going to buy the Note because it looked massive in your reviews when you held it. Fortunately I checked it out anyway while in best buy one day. Not that massive at all, and I ended up switching from my iphone and buying from At&t. Thanks because your reviews played a big part in my decision 🙂

This has been common practice in the tech industry. A company like NVIDIA for example even dictates what content and how features should be covered in reviews. Oh, do you know Louis "Unboxtherapy" never invited to Apple event (or even unbox new iPhone) since iPhone 6 Plus BENDGATE issue (and his video about that)? Do you know iJustine always invited to Apple event and always get the fanciest Apple hardware for free? Do you know that once you make bad video about one product you will never get free review unit ever after?
Oh don't forget Linus even have to make iPhone Xs videos if he still wants free iPhone to review next year. Then how about FPT (frontpagetech) who got contacted by Google after videos of mocking Pixel 3 leaks? haha, should I make this list even longer?

Just got my note9 today! It's a nice step up over my s8+ I love the bigger screen and I'm guessing I'm going to love the longer battery life. My screen has perfect uniformity so I'm loving it!

I dont find the note that much large if you really see and hold them in reality. I thought they were near as large as a tablet coz of the screen but theyre not.
I know it basically means nothing but you're the only TH-camr I constantly "like" the videos. Lots of hard work and real passion.

I had the note 5 and can't wait to get the note 9... This phone is great if your in school and take lots of notes👍👍 the camera is so good I use to take pictures of the notes the teacher would put on the board... And make notes with the pic.. anyway this is a must have phone if your in college/school...
My last Samsung phone was a note 4. And I swore to never buy another Samsung phone due to lag issues.
My current phone was a pixel 2 xl( by google) and started to have battery drain issues after android p update.
It's the smoothest android experience you can get.
Due to the battery drain issues I decided to purchase a note 9 and I was pleasantly surprised how good the battery life was and how smooth the phone is! Samsung really made huge improvements to their software, along with the best specs on a phone, make this phone worth that horrible price tag.... go for it.
One feature I like with the S Pen is that you can copy any text anywhere even from a photo

I returned my Note 9 because of how poor the battery life was. It wasn't much better than the poor battery life I had on the Note 8. Watching this, though, I'm having some thoughts lol. I never realized Samsung Notes was that awesome with an S-Pen. I was looking for more ways to incorporate the pen into my usage with the phone, and the screen off stuff you showed with the always on display, looks really cool.

My Note 9 survives a day easily, with 30%+ left by midnight with a regular use. I don't know how much of a heavy user you are, but I certainly wouldn't classify the battery life as poor...
rasmie The stand-by time is the problem. I tested by charging to 100% and leaving it to sit without using it and in just a couple hours it was at 76%. =/
Battery gets adjusted after couple of charge cycle
Initially mine was dropping 100-90 over night
But now it goes around 100-98/99 over night
I think he's lying😂😂😂.... That battery last the whole day with 30% Maybe 29, 28% left over. And I play a lot of music and watch TH-cam videos
i don't like the looks of the edge screen as it is less curvy than my s7 edge. although it must be more comfort to hold in hand than my s7 edge

Well, there’s no reason for Apple to take battery advice from a company that botched an entire phone line’s battery production so much that they were exploding and banned from airline flights. Why would they want to replicate a Samsung failure that ended in a massive recall? This wasn’t that long ago, have you already wiped it from your memory?

nit picking ,least samsung is £350 cheaper than crapples phone and it comes with a jack and fast charger and pen and bigger batttery and better display ,and grey scale clipping is easily fixwed with an app on playstore
