i wish the rest of the fandom have this kind of mindset before jumping on character without get to know the character,I absolutely love your video analysis I've been searching fyodor analysis depths they barely appear.
I’m SO glad you mentioned how he DOESN’T have a God Complex, I can’t believe some actual people think that. Fyodor is a really great villain and one you don’t often see in media, so I appreciate people like you who actually explain his character to people who don’t know. I also hate how the anime cuts out so much stuff, I hope one day in the future Bsd gets a WHOLE remake that ISN’T made by Studio Bones. P.s. Fyozai is peak
Fyodor is so cool bc his ability's name is the book that explains basically why he does what he does. Sacrificing the wjole city to destroy ability users is something the theory from Crime and Punishment perfectly captures
It’s a relief to see someone who appreciates BSD for its rich storytelling, rather than reducing it to trivial character ships. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It’s rather lamentable to see the majority in the fandom fail to grasp the depth of the plot, making little to no effort to truly engage with its nuances
Okay, first of all, this video was amazing. Second, I was on the brink of crying while watching. Ever since the newest chapters half the fandom switched from "I hope that Fyodor is alive." to "Die Fyodor." Made me happy to see someone who still likes him as a character instead of seeing him as a villain.
In Dostoevsky's book Crime and Punishment he state that in order to change the world you might as well will be seen as villain, such as many revolutionaries in history who break the old norms and establishing their own ideological-driven society. The main character of the book Raskolnikov are willing to kill people and commit crimes and be seen as criminal to serve their version of greater good (Which is what Dostoevsky in BSD do).
As a Fyodor fan since the moment I laid eyes on him, he really has been the best villain in anime that I(!!!!!) have ever seen. This is why I love bsd so much, there's no character that's completely black or white. That morally grey feeling for all characters is amazing, even for the more 'pure' and 'innocent' characters(like Kyoka or Atsushi). I'm born into a Christian family, though I can't say that we're the most religious, but I compared some manga panels and the anime and when I tell you Bones messed up bad I mean it. An example from the top of my head would be when Fyodor touches Karma's face(when he killed him). In the manga, he does this with just a finger, while in the anime he covers his whole face with his palm. I won't get into why that's such an important difference, since I'd be typing for a while, but if anyone's interested, I'd highly reccommed looking into it. Another thing, I'm so baffled by how little content Fyodor has on TH-cam(or other social media for that matter). I get that he's not the most popular character, but come on he's a very important character both in the cannibalism arc and right now in the on going manga. It's a dirty pleasure, but I love watching gacha reaction videos and as the main villain now he has so little it honestly makes me sad. But at least everyone who has made them has really put in the effort and most are amazing. Guess the true nature of Fyodor's character would forever be understood and held dear just by a relatively small circle of people../Off topic, but I loved your analysis!!!
Dostoevsky reminds me of Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. They both judge those who oppose them as sinners whilst they commit unforgivable acts of evil.
It's so refreshing to see someone in this fandom with actual critical thinking skills, who can actually analyze the plot, themes and characters beyond just a surface level understanding. It's also nice seeing someone in this fandom who actually likes and praises the writing in bsd cause I swear to god, the amount of people who hate on it who are also bsd fans is crazy. This might be the only fandom where the fans hate on the source material more than anyone else, which is wild considering most people don't even understand what the main plot is. I also love your take on Fyodor. Fyodor is such a deeply human character and it's crazy that people miss that when characterizing him, because his humanity, as much as he tries to hide it, is such a fundamental part of his character. And his unusual fondness for Dazai makes it even more obvious because, through it, he displays arguably one of the most relatable and humanizing traits someone can have and that is the need for connection and for someone to see through and understand him.
thank you so so much for finally talking about him youtube might finally be cured. As a villain fyodor is very much makima levels of scary and I wish more people spoke about him. His writing is genius, so well done that even he lies and manipulates the audience (despite showing his methods beforehand!!) And it's so exciting. Please do more deep dives about him I'll never get enough of talking about his genius
We really need to talk about how he bamboozled the audience despite his abilty literally almost being revealed in the movie!! I love Fyodor, I hope I can do so many more vids on him in the future without catching the bubonic plague
2:27 The poor imam was probably so confused 😭 But that’s besides the point. I love deep dives like this. I love analyzing characters, and getting to know them on a deeper level, and I love how you explained Fyodor character, and honestly this makes a lot of sense. I was planning on doing a deep dive of his character after the series was finished.
He may be pissing off all the fandom right now, but I fear he ate while doing so 😔 Seriously, Harukawa draws him like he’s going down the runway. Anyways, ty for making an awesome bsd video analysis, it’s insane how Bones has a personal vendetta against him(jk, for the most part).
YOU GAINED YOURSELF A NEW SUBSCRIBER, to be honest, I'm amazed and happy that there are people who really dig deeper into the lore of BSD, especially Fyodor being painted as the 'bad guy' was actually the hidden savior good guy, he's badly misinterpreted by people that its actually funny seeing them getting pissed off or having an emotional damage because of Fyodor eliminating the Ability Users GAHAHAH. Honestly, some characters are complex like Dazai, but I've never hated him because I'm looking forward to the meaning of their complexity. LOVE YOUR CONTENT CASH ! I'LL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR ANALYSIS VIDEOS !! 😭
FIRST AND FIRST THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!! I wanted for someone to drop an Fyodor analysis since forever, because I wanted to see if I acually understand his character as I love his character SO SO much!! SECONDLY THIS IS VERY WELL MADE!!! Even though I'm not crazy about fyozai I cannot deny that they have a special relationship that more people should look into as (in my opinion) they are the two of most interesting characters to study in bsd. AND LASTLY THANK GOD THAT THEY'RE PEOPLE THAT UNDERSTAND THAT FYODOR HAS A SAVIOR COMPLEX(i think its not talked about as much as it should be)!!
I’m just finding your channel and thank you thank for I loved fyodor I saw him has the best villain in anime but for most of my time I just watched the anime and now just reading manga so you help me see what I missed on fyodor and it just made me love him even more thank you (Also wanted to add glad to see another fyozai shipper that will talk about it)
This might sound weird, but Fyodor might be the only, and I repeat, the ONLY villain that fascinated me as much as Griffith. Since I read Berserk some years ago, I thought I would never find a better antagonist or villain, as good as the main one in that series, but this character, this character and how complex he is, could be called magnificent. It's probably one of the few villains that will never be appreciated in a good way, and it's the same case as Griffith. There will never be a good Berserk adaptation, and neither a good BSD one. And that's what stops Bungo Stray Dogs from being popular,, it's just horrible how much you can water down such masterpieces as these. Griffith and Fyodor changed the chemicals in my brain. And it angers me so, so much how nobody gives a fuck about them in general, in a deep-analysis way, and not just meaningless jokes in the fandom. I could add Johan, but he's another story.
Didn't even try to understand Fyodor, because i loved his character so so so much so quickly. I didn't even care about his motivations, his actions were so engaging and calculatingly cool/intimidating. He is up there for one of my favourite villains in fiction along with Funny Valentine from JJBA Steel Ball Run and Erlking Heathcliff from Limbus Company
I’d love to do one on him soon! I agree, Nikolai is a fab character and I’d love to delve into how he KNOWS Fyodor is lying to him but lets him do so because he WANTS to believe that he understands him, so I’ll def see if I can :)
8:54 I never understood Fukuchi haters because while he's not my favorite character, he's a great antagonist (I wouldn't even call him a villain, he's more of an anti-hero (for lack of a better word) who was so traumatized by war that he wanted to make sure it never happened again, even if it went against what the "heros" or "protagonists" thought was right). He even went out of his way to make sure as few people died as possible. I get hating him before his true motivations were revealed, but after? It doesn't make sense. Also that you for this, I really did not like Fyodor as a villain but this helped me understand him a little better. I've watched your Mori video and now this, and I think you have W opinions and analysis, I have subscribed -v- This fandom needs more people like you
I have not read BSD manga and I watched only the first season of the anime and one BSD movie long time ago, the show is all blurry in my memory and I don’t remember the plot but I'm glad I watched this video. Fyodor sounds like a really thought-out villain and I can see some parallels between the character and the actual Dostojewski's ideas in his books from this analysis.
Fyodor kind of based to be honest, he could kill all my favourite characters ones that I prefer over him even, like Poe, Nikolai ect and I’d still be like “oh you killed them? Fair”
My general thought on Fyodor is that he’s as a whole character a mix of irl’s Fyodor’s novels. Especially Crime and Punishment, Karamazov brothers also including The house of the dead. It’s hard for me to explain it as I’d love to :(( (due to my English too, I may have C1 but I’m dumb tho ) but maybe my understanding of his character is coming from the similar family/social/religious situations I and my family and ancestors have experienced. I’m Polish so like- imo, very Slavic country has more or less the same lvl of being somehow traumatised by the same things, the expectations from ppl most 1:1 while also being on the “other branches” of Christianity later or sooner in the history. Ofc some ppl may disagree with me on this and I get it, dw.. I just love to see ppl appreciating Fyodor as a villain fr! He has good intentions in his doings, like Raskolnikov thought he had, but he’s approach is unorthodox and morally questionable
real, i really loved that russian bum in the animie and manga and i agree im rooting for him too (and somewhat agree with him too but thats besides the point) you are doing the lords work here
There is nothing more terrifying than a villain that truly believes that they are morally and truly in the right. Like, I fully agree with Fyodor that the Book and abilities seem to be the number one source of human suffering and conflict in the BSD world but it’s a thing that’s so ingrained in the world (and also that it seems like some or most abilities form as a response to trauma or stress) that removing it would probably be like removing part of the world I looovveee fyodor so much and I can’t wait to see what’s next after chapter 119
we got the ceo of peak and realness making the only video essay that really matters. and i'm serious about my video essays. how does it feel to always be right and correct and the smartest person alive all the time
I never really care much for Fyodor until during the mursalt arc and the newest chapter and he has skyrocketed up into my favorite characters. I first saw this video when it came out but im rewatching it because I'm reading the manga for the first time (season 1-3 i already read after that) and I'm currently on volume 12.
OMG SOMEONE ACTUALLY PUT THIS INTO WORDS ADLSKFHNDKSH I've been so obsessed with learning about Fyodor as a character ever since the prison arc and I am telling you, as I was watching this video I was like "I wonder if Cash is going to mention-- OSFDSHNF OMG THEY DID LET'S GOO!" the entire time. The amount of dopamine I received is crazy. TvT Aside from that.... I didn't realize how new this channel was until I clicked on your icon and saw three videos on it. All three videos which I watched in the past three hours. This is the BSD channel that I needed in my life, the channel that is willing to research and dive deeply into the characters, moreso than I am admittedly, because omg do I love deep diving and researching and *cough* buying Vita Sexualis for no reason other than to understand Mori better *cough* but also I just really don't have time to read everything and analyze everything. It always makes me sad when I think about how I'll never be able to know everything about a story's characters, and I will gobble up the content from this channel if only to get closer to knowing more about them. I just love when I find people who love analyzing characters just as much as I do. TvT And can help me build this skill as well. You've earned my subscription! Also Cash, just so you know, if you don't see this comment I will comment this again on your next video because I think you deserve to hear this. I really appreciate your video essays.
The thing I don't understand about Fyodor is his ability. If you search his ability this comes up: Crime and Punishment allows Fyodor to steal the body of the person who killed him and turns them into a copy of "Fyodor Dostoevsky", completely removing the former looks and skin of the person and giving them his appearance. Taking that into account, whos body would he steal? You might think it's the vampire who crashed the helicopter but he also died in the crash so not him. Next you might think Bram since he was controlling the vampire, but he was told to do so, not to mention it was Dazai's plan so maybe him? But then Nickolai gave him that poison which for all we know could have killed him moments before the crash. It's all kind of confusing and non-clear but over all I loved the anime and am still reading the manga!
I swear to god BSD is so heavily underrated. the story telling and devices are so unique to this series and Fyodor is such well character and antagonist, I love how he also no exception when it comes how his personal philosophy reflects from the author himself and it's famous book just like everyone else.
9:04, I'd also like to add the fact the abilities are based on a certain author's works (which everyone knows, obviously), and Chaos-the opposite of harmony, something fyodor thrives for-is present in every ability. Chaos is a part of literature, it is a vital element in the stories we consume, write, or share--It is what makes literature, from the chaos of our emotions. Chaos is what makes us exist, it is what makes us sin, because chaos is a part of ourselves, and since it is important to us, it is also everywhere in literature, and because Fyodor wants harmony between humanity, he seeks to erase this.
I love Fyodor he's not my favorite character in BSD or hell even in The Decay of Angels, but he is certainly my favorite villain and Fyodor is most likely Orthodox Catholic since it's the specific branch of Christianity that the real Fyodor Dostoevsky followed. and which impacted what he wrote (I've read three of his books and in one of them, brother's Karamazov one of the characters, Ivan Karamazov, who is an atheist goes into a chapter long rant which could have been its own book about faith and humanity to his brother Alyosha who recently left his monastery and is the most religious of the four brothers) As a manga reader I am shocked to learn they scrapped the whole secret language interaction as it shows how terrifyingly smart they are. I also would love to learn more about Fyodor as the manga keeps running but at the same time not. I would love to know how he met Nikolai,
What i think is wild is as someone who was anime only (not to the fyodor part of the manga yet). But like Fyodor and Dazai have such an L and Light relationship in the anime too (oh goodness do people think ideological differences means people hate each other). I do agree with you on that Bones has overly shounened the anime.
118 lowkey made me become a Fyodor fan instead of hating him. I find him so interesting and wonder how far back his plans go and how many events were his doing. I'm planning on rereading the manga to get a better understanding of his character.
This was absolutely so well done analysis of one of the best antagonist characters in this amazing series. I myself a fyozai shipper here and i am so happy that you included small details and explained his motives, his personality etc so beautifully. I love bsd manga and anime a lot (though i do have complaints with anime too). The most wonderful thing i find is that the characters are shades of grey and its very interesting to witness
I love your analysis so much. It's so rare to even find any character analysis of bsd characters so I'm so happy to see this. I hope you will do more analysis in the future.
I hope you make more of these. You're the first I've seen that picked up and talked about his polite mannerisms. I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on all of the characters in bsd. I think you have an amazing ability of analysis, one that is quite refreshing to see in this fandom.
i’d love to see more, your analysis was amazing and really highlights Fydor’s character that people really can’t seem to get a grasp on. Definitely will be looking out for more content if you plan on making more!!
God bless you I've been waiting for someone to talk about Fyodor and how much of a great character he is 😍It hurts me so much to see how underrated of a villain he is in anime, because he's literally my most favorite anime villain of all times with his savior complex and to every last little detail about him! People tend to misunderstand his character, and I don't blame them with the injustice bones has done to him in the anime. Its why Fukuchi's also one of my favorite characters!
AGHHH I FEELT SO UNDERSTOOD WATCHING THIS, ITS LIKE Y WENT TINTO MY BRAIN AND READ IT ALL, THANK YOU. IVE BEEN SO MAD AND UPSET THAT PEOPLE DEGRADE FYODOR'S CHARACTER AND FYOZAI'S LATELY. THIS VIDEO LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE FROM RUINS, THANK YOU THANK YOU. UR AMAZING AT ANALYSING KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!🙏
WOW that was a great analysis. I've only watched the anime and a few of the non anime adapted books, so after watching this I'm definitely going to read the main thing. Thanks for this :D !!
I like most anime genres, and I tend to separate genres into 2 camps, action (and related genres) focused, and character/story driven. And I’m way more into action series by nature, but I do still love other genres too. Yet for some reason i find myself enjoying bsd on par w action, shounen, and 18+ seinen series despite it being a mainly character/story driven series w action elements. There is no words to explain how amazing the writing is in bsd. I never figured out fyodor even until his death (in the anime) and all the shit going on has me lost in a gud way.
You need to do Mori next! IK and I get why a lot of people hate him but sm tend to forget that there’s more to Mori than just being a ‘pedo’ and that’s usually the fandom refusing to believe otherwise most the time. Fyodor and Mori are both the most hated characters in BSD lmao.
No the fact they make such disgusting assumptions when we get a further analysis on Dazai and realize how disgusting the assumptions were. Don’t get me wrong I hate mori, he is interesting. I just don’t like how he hurt yasano, but I still find his character interesting here. His obsession with Elise and yasano are weird, but making further assumptions on something we don’t know is cannon I just a little far and wrong
I used to dislike Fyodor for some reason, but reading fics made me warm up a LOT to his character (as well as reading the manga). Props to fyozai fics for making me love Fyodor, because often they end up digging into the religious part of Fyodor's character. (I both bully and love my plush of his. Sure I will snuggle with him, but I will also be slightly abusive after certain chapters, e.g. 117). I find it kind of funny that Dazai is practically the only main character who has consistent meetings and things to do with Fyodor, considering how long Fyodor's been a threat now. Like Fyodor only just now met Atsushi, the protag??? It's why it's sort of weird seeing Fyodor properly interact or be around agency members in the latest chapters, we're not really used to seeing that other than with Dazai.
This was mind blowing for me!! I love Fyodor so much and throught the series I try to understand him. I thought Asagiri was barely giving us anything. But now that you mention Fyodor is also a human I finally feel like I manages to grasp his character. It also made me remind in Wan he wants his burger steak without eggs and Dazai finds it really childish lol. Being an only anime fan sucks now I understand that! The part where you said this series is seinen but bones treat it as if it's a shounen also made a click noise in my brain. I guess I will buy manga from now on. Please keep feeding us with BSD content!!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH W ANALYSIS W YOU I LOVE YOU W VIEWERS I LOVE EVERYONE WHO CLICKED AS WELL THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS YOU SAID WHAT I WANTED YOU TO SAY I'M SO GLAD YOU MADE IT OH MY GOD I LOVE FYODOR YAY
Finally someone who actually understands fyodor's character 🙏 I'm going to send this to my friends 🗣️🗣️🗣️ (for some reason they don't understand his character that much and end up jumping on him a lot 💔)
Thanks so much for making this video!!! A lot of people misunderstand Fyodor cus they are anime only and this video explains him perfectly! Time to send this to all my friends who know nothing about BSD-
I love you so much for making this bruh I don't even know how to describe it, like "ohh yeah ur so right fr bro ikr" And after watching this video, I feel like im understanding and liking bsd more than ever ahaha thx a lot I didn't skip a single part of the video surprisingly despite my impatient ass always skipping videos
The mentality I had been using to understand Fyodor is almost exactly like this! I’m really happy to know people have managed to understand Fyodor similarly. At some point we might be proven wrong but for now it’s lovely to consider
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO TALKS ABOUT HOW FYODOR IS SO UNDERRATED HE IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST "VILLAINS" OF BSD HELP😭😭😭😭 (sorry for any spelling mistakes english isn't my first language + i'm horrible at typing) I absolutely love Fyodor character and that's why I'm here to add somenthing :D So at 3:34 you say that he is "over a thousand years old" and I did some reaserch on that and you are kind of right, based on the strong religious background, that is most likely catholicism (not canon but defenetly what the hints seem to point towards), that would make him between 1020 and 600 years old. Meaning he was born between tha year 980 and the year 1400. I know it's a long span of time but this the most precise I can be. I'll now explain to you why. So first why he can't be born before the year 980? That's cause that's when christianization of Kiev in the Russian history was at the end of those years (no certain date), and if is really catholic (counting the simbolism, on which I could sart yapping about too but I won't for everyones sake) then he can't be born earlyer in time. And for why he can't be born after the year 1400 is cause the REAL Dracula was born in 1431 and died in 1476/1477. Assuming Bram is chronologically connected to the real Dracula (which makes sense and I won't go in detail but go watch @shxiri edit on tiktok about this theory) then If Fyodor was alive at the time, and for the way he acted clearly knew abou his ability, the he must have been alive for a while. On a more personal opinion I think he is probably around 700 years old, as in Europe (and also in Russia) there was the black plague that coused to people to be even more religious as everyone though that was a punishment from God. This would also make sense for his motivations, the time of the black plague was one where humans where most desparete and afraid of death so if Fyodor wants to eradicate all sinners so that nothing like that ever happends again it would make sense, right?? That's just my opinion so idk, if you managed to get through my yapping then I would like to hear what you think about the theory :D (edit: when I say "catholic" I mean "orthodox", I got confused due to my poor knowlege of their differences and also a bit of mistranlation so I apologise, also thanks to @daydream0lol for pointing this out :D)
question (gen), since at the author (I think, tell me if I'm wrong) was orthodox, wouldn't fyodor be orthodox instead of catholic? also because I think most russians in the past were probably orthodox instead of catholic
@@daydream0lol Yeah, you're defenetly right, I am not really interested in realigion my self so I don't really know the differince between the two I just know they have the same roots (i might be wrong on that too, if so I'm sorry), so I re-looked the info and It does say orthodox and not catholic. It also didn't help that I read the info in my native language and then had to translate it into english and messed up the words too, so thank you for pointing this out!
GOOSHSHSHH!!! I LOVE THISSSS! EVERYONE SEES FYODOR AS SOMEONE WHO IS JUST SELFISH AND WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD - BUT YOU ACTUALLY - TRY TO UNDERSTAND HIM AND I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!!!❤ Sjsismjwowkaiak you are big brain, mega mind, smartie, the best✨
FYOZAI....FYOZAI MENTION..FYOZAI INTERACTION UNDERSTANDING....I AM MADLY IN LOVE WITH YOU, FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS FYOZAI. AAAAAAA I CAN'T EXPRESS HOW HAPPY THIS MAKES ME. OH MY GOSH😭😭 /POS
While I don't really ship fyozai myself, I love seeing Dazai and Fyodor interact, I really need to read the manga sometime soon cause I feel like I'm missing out on so much stuff xD
When I say I like fyodor, I don't mean I support what he does. I mean I love the thought that went into his character, I love the depth he has. He's such a an interesting character. He's one of my favorite antagonists ever.
This is an amazing video, you put a lot of effort into it and I feel like I understand Fyodor even more. He’s my favourite character and I’ve been reading several books by the actual Dostoyevsky to try to understand his character more. (The lack of Fyodor merch out there is atrocious I NEED A FYODOR FIGURE)
Love this video. Although I interpret Dos-kun's liberating the world from ability sinners to removing abilities from users instead of killing ability users. I look forward to your Mori video.
That’s a better way to put it!! I agree with that totally, but for simplification, I simply said he was killing them, since I don’t want to make it look like he was 100% in the right for what he did to karma
i wish the rest of the fandom have this kind of mindset before jumping on character without get to know the character,I absolutely love your video analysis I've been searching fyodor analysis depths they barely appear.
I hope to see more too!! As much as a I loved making this, I hope it inspires other ppl to explore him as well :)
You say that as he kills everyone! (I’m joking I swear, I promise I love feyda I swear)
I’m SO glad you mentioned how he DOESN’T have a God Complex, I can’t believe some actual people think that. Fyodor is a really great villain and one you don’t often see in media, so I appreciate people like you who actually explain his character to people who don’t know.

But that’s besides the point. I love deep dives like this. I love analyzing characters, and getting to know them on a deeper level, and I love how you explained Fyodor character, and honestly this makes a lot of sense. I was planning on doing a deep dive of his character after the series was finished.
THANK YOU ILY FOR MAKING THIS YOUR ANALYSIS IS SO SO GOOD AHH
The lesson: BSD is peak
He may be pissing off all the fandom right now, but I fear he ate while doing so 😔 Seriously, Harukawa draws him like he’s going down the runway. Anyways, ty for making an awesome bsd video analysis, it’s insane how Bones has a personal vendetta against him(jk, for the most part).
I see it more as a rivalry where they are fond of each other than a ship but that´s just my take.
THIS ANALYSIS VIDEO IS MY SPIRIT ANIMAL I SWEAR
I’m just finding your channel and thank you thank for I loved fyodor I saw him has the best villain in anime but for most of my time I just watched the anime and now just reading manga so you help me see what I missed on fyodor and it just made me love him even more thank you
(Also wanted to add glad to see another fyozai shipper that will talk about it)
This might sound weird, but Fyodor might be the only, and I repeat, the ONLY villain that fascinated me as much as Griffith.
1000+ years and still maintaining his waist goals ig
He’s serving body tea, I’m afraid
I understand Fyodor getting Dazai sniped, I’d do the same sort of thing if my bestie stole my hat or drink bottle or something.
This was such a good analysis! Could you possibly try one on Nikolai. The fandom simply paints him as “silly” and it irritates me sm.
I’d love to do one on him soon! I agree, Nikolai is a fab character and I’d love to delve into how he KNOWS Fyodor is lying to him but lets him do so because he WANTS to believe that he understands him, so I’ll def see if I can :)
@@Cashexists as a Fyolai shipper, this hurt to read😭 i loved your analysis btw, you're great at what you're doing!!
I've watched your Mori video and now this, and I think you have W opinions and analysis, I have subscribed -v- This fandom needs more people like you
Finally someone else saying that he hasn´t a ggod complex. Thank you!
HOLY SHIT THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST ANALYSIS VIDEO IS HAVE SEEN OF FYODOR AND BSD IN GENERAL
Thank you, fellow sigma plush
@@Cashexists let’s fucking go
Fyodor kind of based to be honest, he could kill all my favourite characters ones that I prefer over him even, like Poe, Nikolai ect and I’d still be like “oh you killed them? Fair”
fyodor should stop doing allat and and just spend the rest of my life with me
My general thought on Fyodor is that he’s as a whole character a mix of irl’s Fyodor’s novels.
He has good intentions in his doings, like Raskolnikov thought he had, but he’s approach is unorthodox and morally questionable
real, i really loved that russian bum in the animie and manga and i agree im rooting for him too (and somewhat agree with him too but thats besides the point) you are doing the lords work here
thanking the algorithm gods fr
There is nothing more terrifying than a villain that truly believes that they are morally and truly in the right.
Like, I fully agree with Fyodor that the Book and abilities seem to be the number one source of human suffering and conflict in the BSD world but it’s a thing that’s so ingrained in the world (and also that it seems like some or most abilities form as a response to trauma or stress) that removing it would probably be like removing part of the world
I looovveee fyodor so much and I can’t wait to see what’s next after chapter 119
we got the ceo of peak and realness making the only video essay that really matters. and i'm serious about my video essays. how does it feel to always be right and correct and the smartest person alive all the time
It feels very nice, Shiveringgroovies, thank you 🤭🤭
I never really care much for Fyodor until during the mursalt arc and the newest chapter and he has skyrocketed up into my favorite characters. I first saw this video when it came out but im rewatching it because I'm reading the manga for the first time (season 1-3 i already read after that) and I'm currently on volume 12.
THIS WAS YOUR FIRST VIDEO???!?
Personally I like calling Fyodor and Dazai extreme frenemies
I will say that since Fyodor is Russian based off a Russian author, he’s most likely Russian Orthdox. Most likely
I NEED HIM SO BAD😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
REALLLLL
OMG SOMEONE ACTUALLY PUT THIS INTO WORDS ADLSKFHNDKSH I've been so obsessed with learning about Fyodor as a character ever since the prison arc and I am telling you, as I was watching this video I was like "I wonder if Cash is going to mention-- OSFDSHNF OMG THEY DID LET'S GOO!" the entire time. The amount of dopamine I received is crazy. TvT
Aside from that....
I'M CRYING THE LINE U PUT FOR PERSONALITY
ur my favorite side of the fandom tbh
Dammm f valid video!!! We need more BSD analysis
I swear to god BSD is so heavily underrated. the story telling and devices are so unique to this series and Fyodor is such well character and antagonist, I love how he also no exception when it comes how his personal philosophy reflects from the author himself and it's famous book just like everyone else.
papa me want more analysis
I might have to do the Mori one,,,
@@Cashexists WAA IM LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING IT
i love Fyodor but man he is so overpowered now
9:04, I'd also like to add the fact the abilities are based on a certain author's works (which everyone knows, obviously), and Chaos-the opposite of harmony, something fyodor thrives for-is present in every ability.
I would love to know how he met Nikolai,
Thank you for letting me know!! And I agree, it’s shocking how bones removed the required subtlety for Fyodor’s chapter, it’s shocking fr
I love fyodor.
Same me a Fyodor would be besties if he existed, I mean that would probably mean he’d manipulate me into fighting his battles but he’s just so cool.
@@Tries_To_Drawso real, like yes I’d fight, your motivations are good enough for me to try 😤
I do too
What i think is wild is as someone who was anime only (not to the fyodor part of the manga yet).
Btw, seeing Fyodor onscreen unless with Dazai brings the fear of god into me.
Im never hating fyodor ever again omg.
YASSSS
i fear this may be the best video on youtube
I hope you make more of these. You're the first I've seen that picked up and talked about his polite mannerisms. I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on all of the characters in bsd. I think you have an amazing ability of analysis, one that is quite refreshing to see in this fandom.
THE KNY SLANDER IS WILDDD 😭😭🙏🙏🙏
I genuinely loved this video so much and your opinion abt Fyodor is so based. 💯/💯 Will watch again.
I’m very biased when it comes to him, I’m afraid but I’m glad the masses agree!!
i’d love to see more, your analysis was amazing and really highlights Fydor’s character that people really can’t seem to get a grasp on.
This video was so fun to watch thank you for making this(Also yeah Fyodor is my favorite character.)
UR AMAZING AT ANALYSING KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!🙏
YOU'RE THE SAVIOR OF FYODOR FANS.
(im getting hate on tumbrl just bcuz i still love him after ch 118 💀💀)
WOW that was a great analysis. I've only watched the anime and a few of the non anime adapted books, so after watching this I'm definitely going to read the main thing. Thanks for this :D !!
I LOVE THIS ANALYSIS HOLY SHIT
I swear to god they love fanon than canon and they wouldn't want to see the truth about it.
THANK YOU SO MUCHH FOR MAKING THIS OMGGGG

This is my favorite video ever, and i love you so much for making this. (Marry me/nsrs)
I never really cared for Fyodor but after he took over Brams body I did a whole 180.

As long as Ranpo stays alive, I’m not gonna hate on him😞 (he doesn’t even have an ability😭)
You opened my eyes
The mentality I had been using to understand Fyodor is almost exactly like this! I’m really happy to know people have managed to understand Fyodor similarly. At some point we might be proven wrong but for now it’s lovely to consider
THIS IS SO FIRE
Thank you, kind stranger 😨😨😨😨
Love ur analysis! ❤
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO TALKS ABOUT HOW FYODOR IS SO UNDERRATED HE IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST "VILLAINS" OF BSD HELP😭😭😭😭
(sorry for any spelling mistakes english isn't my first language + i'm horrible at typing)
I absolutely love Fyodor character and that's why I'm here to add somenthing :D
So at 3:34 you say that he is "over a thousand years old" and I did some reaserch on that and you are kind of right, based on the strong religious background, that is most likely catholicism (not canon but defenetly what the hints seem to point towards), that would make him between 1020 and 600 years old.
That's just my opinion so idk, if you managed to get through my yapping then I would like to hear what you think about the theory :D
(edit: when I say "catholic" I mean "orthodox", I got confused due to my poor knowlege of their differences and also a bit of mistranlation so I apologise, also thanks to @daydream0lol for pointing this out :D)
question (gen), since at the author (I think, tell me if I'm wrong) was orthodox, wouldn't fyodor be orthodox instead of catholic? also because I think most russians in the past were probably orthodox instead of catholic

He's simply too babygirl to hate 👀
