The song at the end sold me 😂. What first motivated you to start sewing and making your own clothing? Also, how’d you learn and how long did it take you to get proficient enough to start making clothes?
Thank you! I grew up in a large family which meant hand me downs, thrifted, or sewn-by-my-mom clothing. I always loved fashion from a very young age and anything artsy as well. I asked my mom to teach me sewing in my teens. I just kept hacking at it, starting with paper patterns, and I always had such a high standard in my mind so I kept slowing down my approach to achieve accuracy. I made my prom dress, then my portfolio garments for university. Then I learned pattern drafting and more sewing techniques in school. If you are learning to sew, start with a pattern and a tutorial, follow the instructions, take it slow, understand your mistakes and learn from them, you'd be surprised how quickly you excel. The key is patience and attention to detail. Its really a wonderful craft!
Update I have made your sweat suit!!! But I had to make 2. your pattern front and back are swapped. I cant wait to upload the pics and tag you.!! I love this!!! Omg!!
@@AJmakesIt ayayayaaaaay! Ima check that! Sorry!! I’m soooo excited to see the final ahhhhh!! So excited!! Update: just checked! Your right! I’m going to fix that immediately!! Thanks for letting me know!
I came for the sweatpants, I subscribed off the strength of the intro alone. Hadn't even watched the tutorial yet. Your energy has me even more excited to create!
Love how your rib knit fabric matches the color of your sweatshirt and pants. I can't seem to find matching rib knit so I use a contrasting color of either white or black rib knit for my waistband and cuffs because those colors are much easier to find.
You are heaven sent!!! I was looking for a simple sweat suit pattern to make on my weight loss Journey because I was tired of buying clothes and then they get to lose so until I get to my goal weight I wanted to wear these and they all were just not my style I literally looked on Etsy everyday and in Joann Fabrics at patterns and I could not find a simple comfortable slouchy one and I promise you I won't Etsy tonight and your sweatsuit was just right there and I messaged you asking was it for adults because if it is.... sold!!! Asap
I am so pleased to hear this!! You go girl! I think I am you're going to love this suit! Its sooo comfy, I literally wear it every day until its dirty haha!
Also just a note that for some reason I am not able to access my Etsy account to correct the “sold out” status of my pattern. I will let you know when it’s live again!!
a lil late here but - would you suggest doing this without a serger machine?? Im trying debate if i should wait till xmas when i get one to do this cozy look.... but also, i wanna be cozy now.
For the oversize look you may be able to get away with a straight stitch, or you could use a zigzag as an alternative. But overlock is truly the best! :)
Bought your patterns and they are all great! For grocery chic pants I did XL and its like suuuuper big - could you share the size you sew in the video please? I need to size it down a looot :) Thank you!
Hey, thank you! All of those weights were given to me so I can't really help much. I think i found the paper weight at a thrift store and the long weights are inserts for leg workout straps that were also found at a thrift store by my mom .
One of the nicest home made tracksuits I have seen yet - So professional! looks amazing! Wondering if you can give me some advice. I would like to purchase a beginner sewing machine, do you have any recommend ?
Thank you! Here is my recommendation video th-cam.com/video/tIkOnngnbYI/w-d-xo.html. I recommend Janome for a basic mechanical machine! But the other specific models are also great candidates.
@@LydiaNaomi awesome thank you! I love ur patterns! I’ve been sewing for years but not constantly so i consider myself a beginner and I love how easy they are to follow :)
Hi! Is sewing allowance included in the pattern? It should be included according the instructions on etsy, but it doesn't look like that. For example the top lines (lenght) of pieces 7 and 8 are longer than mine (from this video it looks that also bottoms of these pieces are longer)..I'm a bit confused now :-D if there is a SA how many cm is it? Thank you!
The seam allowance is included and is 3/8" or 1cm. The pattern is slightly different from the video. It has been modified according to feedback over time sorry for the confusion ☺️
Yes and yes, never ending stock really. The file is made to accommodate both US letter and A4 paper. There is also A0 size for your local copy shop if you wanted :) there are detailed instructions within.
I’m dead why are you so cool?!? I have a q! Do you use only inches in the instructions or do you also have cm? I’m not sure if I would understand inches so just to be sure 😅😅
