We've been observing Shabbat for a few years now and yes, it's everything you say it is and more. It's crazy how lifegiving God's ways are when we actually decide to try them. haha

I will be 70 in Dec. and I loved this vlog. I love the idea of your Sabbath, where you just disconnect and rest. I pretty much did this when my children were small, but it was always on Sunday's because I worked during the week. I just love your whole family. You are a beautiful family raising your children wonderfully. God Bless all of you.

I think your family and vlogs are so delightful! They genuinely put a smile on my face, but my favorite part has always been the way you teach. You touch on all the subjects that have been difficult for me to fully understand and you opened it up with such a light I can see the truth in the way you talk about it and live it. I am so thankful for your videos, they have opened my eyes so many times, I cant even express.

Our family keeps the biblical Sabbath from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. It is a real, true blessing! We don't keep it to earn God's favor. We keep it because He directed us to do so plus there are so many benefits in it! And yes, Friday is our preparation day. That is the day we are heavily getting ready for Sabbath. It's not that we might not do preparation on any other day, but Friday is the big day for us. We spend time in church, with God, family, church friends, serving people and in His Word.
I grow up in a seventh day Adventist home and as a child I never used to appreciate "sabbath rest" but now it's my favourite thing! God is so good to set it apart for us! we go to church and spend time with family! I ❤️ it 😀

This is honestly so refreshing and inspiring! my family and I have been celebrating the Shabbat for the past year and it was a bit rough at the beginning like trying to reboot your body into a new system and telling urself to stop & let God do the rest. but after a while you realize you look forward to it! having a time to focus on family and God and reminding yourself that only He can provide true rest. It's so encouraging to see other families celebrate it as well! I hope many other believers will also soon see the blessings that your family experiences while doing this weekly ♡ also, "Me and my quiver" will be the only way I will be referring to my future children ahahahaha blessings from the Philippines x

Do you celebrate Shabbat Friday night to Saturday night? As a Messianic Jew (which means I am Jewish but I believe Jesus is the Jewish Messiah mentioned in the Old testament), my heart got so happy when you sang Shabbat Shalom! Alyssa should try making challah for Shabbat dinner one night. It's delicious! I love these vlogs! Keep honoring God with your work! You're doing an amazing job!

What a beautiful family you have! Even more beautiful is your life shared together in Messiah Yeshua :-) It is so refreshing to see another family keeping Shabbat. We have been obeying this coomand for over 15 years now. For the most part we have been on our own, but we have tried to teach our children it is a wonderful weekly gift from our heavenly Abba. Our children are now young adults and I hope, when they have families of their own - God willing, they will observe Shabbat as you do. Question about how you guys do the sabbath - you turn your phones off for 24 hours but how do you know if there's a family/friend emergency? Like if someone was rushed to the hospital, how do you know?

Aleiya Armstrong Hi!! I am a college student, and I observe the Sabbath. I don't go to class, don't participate in extracurricular activities, and I don't hang out with friends like at the mall as I would usually do. I read my bible, go to church, and pray to God. I start Fridays sunset to Saturdays sundown. I also don't do any homework or school work during that time period, and would sometimes call family and friends to tell them I love them. I just fellowship with God as much as possible. Good luck!!!!!!

Hey Aleiya! I'm a college student too. I chose Sunday as my weekly Shabbath day because there are no classes and my church service is that day. I usually turn off my phone and laptop or at least turn off the wifi. No tv, no internet, no radio. Then you can just read your Bible, pray, go outside and walk, get back in touch with yourself. 99% of the time I don't feel like turning my phone back on Monday. God bless!

Aleiya Armstrong Hey Aleiya! I'm a Sabbath keeper as well, I've been doing it since I was a child and I'm currently a grad student. I observe Saturday as the Sabbath. So I turn down everything on Friday night, I go to church and worship on Saturday, and I don't turn anything back up until Saturday evening. It's definitely possible to do. As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate the Sabbath more and I've also noticed that when I made time for God, He truly began to bless me in my academics in ways I couldn't even imagine. So don't worry about the time, just give God what He deserves, and trust me He will take care of the rest

hey!! ya those are just some small things we picked up in Jerusalem that we loved :D nothing crazy but good little ways to tangibly usher in the 24 hours of rest. the candle is lit for the whole 24 hours and represents that ceasing. and the song is just fun way to show it's a celebration!

Hey Jeff! Love your videos, using a few of them for a new series I am doing with the youth group on how to know God, and who He is versus who we have been told he is or who we think he is. I am definitely diggin' this Sabbath party as our family often does something like this but I am inspired by your family to make it more intentional by being technology free, spending time in the word together, even if its a short devotional, and really not doing any housework or errands that day. As a pastor, I am wondering what you might recommend for us who have to work on Sundays :) Do you celebrate your sabbath on a different day?
I appreciate the fact that you two value the Sabbath. I've tried to have times where I'm not really working, and that has essentially wound up being Friday evening to Saturday evening, but it seems as though you all have put much more thought into it than I have.

I know one of the commandments say "You shall work six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest"-do you take it literally or just pick any day of the week that works with your schedule? Thanks! :)

I attend the SDA (Seventhday Adventist) church, which is a whole global church of sabbath keepers...so this is no new thing. The church believes in obedience toward the whole of the 10 commandments, which includes the sabbath, as Jesus said ''if you love Me, then keep My commandments" - John 14:15.
Please continue searching the Word and pray about this often, you will find great joy with finding the truth...which sets us all free.

Hey Jeff. I have so many questions about the sabbath. Is it the Saturday night going on Sunday? Do you attended church on Sunday? Are you observing the sabbath because of the 4th commandment remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, or do you see it as a personal choice to keep it?

Thanks for being so open about your Sabbath, God made it at creation for our REcreation, before sin even entered this human race the sabbath was there to remind us of who made us. There is a reason Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for man, because it is for our enjoyment and reconnection with God. The Sabbath is the opposite of "works" resting in Jesus as our Creator and Savior. Thanks for your example!

I am Gali, in the year 1980 I lost all my hopes, I became a thief and club dancer. At that time I heard about Christ, the Lord spoke with me though the Scripture.

I surrendered my life to Lord Jesus and confessed that He is the only Lord and died for my sins to deliver me from all my sins (Karma). When I totally surrendered my life to the Lord He has delivered me from evil spirits, which suffered me about 6 years. I became a new person in Christ. I love Bible so much and started memorizing the scriptures.
By the grace of God I have memorized Five Thousand (5,000) Verses from the Holy Bible. Every week I also remember all the verses. Morning time I remember about 1500 verses for praise, worship and prayer. (Including 100 Psalms). This practice helps me to grow strong in the Lord and also to help others for the glory of the Lord. John 14:6 is my favorite verse; I preach this word to many unsaved people that they may find the peace in Jesus Christ because He is the Lord of all.
