I totally watched all your guys’ stuff when I was in high school and single. I’m a junior in college now (still single 🙌 hola) and still 100% inspired by every video 😁 I’m so thankful to have your guys’ thoughts on life, marriage, and singleness in this time when I’m discovering who God made me to be and how to model my life after Christ instead of the culture. Such a challenge but so worth it!

As a single woman, I find your guys content very relatable so thanks so much for what y’all do
I was discipled by three different families during my college and young 20 years. I got to see healthy, God first, marriage, discipline and love. As a person who came from an unhealthy background it changed my life!

Hey Jeff and Alyssa, thank you for that. Firstly, congrats on the little one! Second, I was blessed with this video! Thank you. Just one question though, to Alyssa; you mention that for singles, it is important to make sure you have the same vision as the person you're thinking of getting married to. My understanding from the video is that, after marriage however, it is possible that God may now lead you to a new call, AS A FAMILY. So does that mean the vision you shared earlier as individuals needn't/shouldn't be focused on any longer?
When you said “single is a mission, and marriage is a mission” I said “mmm c’mon, tear it up”
Very convicting! Praying God helps me with the calling I have now! He so what does this mean for people dating? Like how does staying focused on your mission work here. Does that make any sense??

I loved that you gave practical reasons why for singleness, not just deeming it a gift (I cringe when I hear that too!). A calling can hurt. I love that singleness and marriage are in a symbiotic relationship - the outpost and infantry!

Amen! I would say yeah as a single gal it's hard to find families and people because it seems like so much work for couples and families to seek us out. I have one family/best friend who invites me over to eat and do life with. It has been a different season with more busy stuff on the day to day but it's almost akward to ask other families to do life with them. It's been random times to have other couples ask me to spend time with. I do believe these families are busy and care about singles. My place is so small and I don't feel secure about having people over my studio but desire to invite people. One day I will. I appreciate the families that have invited me for holidays and bbq stuff but I wish it was happening more often to be Invited. I am a pretty friendly person so it's not like I'm stand offish. Each season it gets harder and I tend to give up on trying because it's exhausting and to keep getting no as an answer. I think in some ways its God wanting me to lean in more on Him if people are not present in this season of my life. Get my drift ?

Evergreen is from the old print journalism days (those newspaper things that used to be really popular). It was meant to describe an article that was not time-bound or time-sensitive and could be printed the next day, the next week, the next month, etc. Usually a feature article.

I’m on the normal chapstick brand game! I’m in college and I love listening to these podcasts, it’s so refreshing because there is so much insight/advice that totally goes against the grain of the culture in college.

I just watched this for the first time and made some notes/questions. I have been struggling with whether or not I am ready to be dating or not. Then at the end of this video I felt that dating to may be its own calling in a way. In singlehood you have your own personal calling while in marrige you, together, have a calling that is truly right for both of you. Is it me overthinking or is it possible that dating has its own calling? To lead each other closer to God, each person has their own personal mission, but then supports the other. If this is it's own seperate calling then there may be other descriptions but it's just a thought.

I am Gali, in the year 1980 I lost all my hopes, I became a thief and club dancer. At that time I heard about Christ, the Lord spoke with me though the Scripture.
JOHN 14:6 “I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME.”
I surrendered my life to Lord Jesus and confessed that He is the only Lord and died for my sins to deliver me from all my sins (Karma). When I totally surrendered my life to the Lord He has delivered me from evil spirits, which suffered me about 6 years. I became a new person in Christ. I love Bible so much and started memorizing the scriptures.
By the grace of God I have memorized Five Thousand (5,000) Verses from the Holy Bible. Every week I also remember all the verses. Morning time I remember about 1500 verses for praise, worship and prayer. (Including 100 Psalms). This practice helps me to grow strong in the Lord and also to help others for the glory of the Lord. John 14:6 is my favorite verse; I preach this word to many unsaved people that they may find the peace in Jesus Christ because He is the Lord of all.
