Lithium doing this by suppress feelings, puts her in a "cage" against which she resists. She has lived with sorrow so long that losing it now would be like losing a part of herself. That is what the whole refrain is about: "Lithium, Don't want to lock myself up inside, Lithium, Don't want to forget what it feels without, Lithium, I want to stay in love with my sorrow." Amy Lee is a superb singer and performer.She initially wrote the song on guitar when she was 16 years old and later reworked the song on piano.The song is a power balled about dramatic mood swings of mannia and deep depression and Lithium that sometimes used to treat this condition🖤

While there were a few songs from their first couple of albums that were completely ballads, most songs had at least some pretty "rock-y" drums and guitar accompaniment. Amy is a very accomplished pianist, and I saw her on a TV show with just her piano accompanying her on "My Immortal" - made me fall in love with her all over again!

I watched your reaction to Hearts cover of Stairway To Heaven and while I agree with you it is brilliant, you really need to see another cover that is all over TH-cams Reaction channels. Our Aussie girl Kasey Chambers (country) did a cover of Eminem's Lose Yourself, quoting many of those reactionist, probably the best cover they have ever heard and cover of Lose Yourself. Kasey has been singing since she was 9 years old with her family band traveling Australia and now age 47 has become one of our most revered singer songwriters. She is also a huge fan of Eminem hence the cover and when she sang that cover, a call was put out for those in the audience to provide footage to create a video for all to see as it was something very special for us to witness and emotional for her.
