The big issue is you can connect to anyone and everyone. You could be in the backwoods of Iowa connecting to some hermit with dial up internet in China. So the host if they have terrible internet is always at an advantage
Even with a few hiccups, you can tell the company's really busting their chops to get this game up and running. It's their big-time debut in the AAA world, and they've gone all-in, banking heavily on credit. Switching from UE4 to UE5 might've added to the mess, but you can see they're putting their heart into it. They'd probably push the release date if they could. Personally, I'm loving the game and I hope they keep growing because things look promising!
Love this game, dude. I got that DKS feeling back. It really feels like being back in the first DKS, but just with it being brought up to 2023 in terms of graphics and stuff. Absolutely loving it. I had to put lies of P down, to play this instead. I still have armoured core to play as well.

Unfortunately it's very unlikely, not without a serious back-end overhaul of the engine. Unreal 5 doesn't support the infrastructure of an online game like this. It's pretty likely they don't intend to fix it and if they did it would take a very long time and be very costly. It's a shame, but yeah, they lied to everyone saying the co-op would be functional knowing full well it wasnt.
5:55 that spell is a very late game, AoE faith spell. it can be spammed indefinitely. It's incredibly strong. I've seen people using it on mobs, and they can clear out entire areas by just spamming it.
I was playing some of the pvp earlier and after i left the guys world my whole lvl was reset and stats as well. Went from like lvl 150 down to 60… luckily back up saved me

honestly some of the more interesting combat ive seen in a souls game, especially for pvp. i really hope they keep up the pace with these patches and hotfixes so the game doesnt get forgotten due to its glaring issues.
The pve looks amazing and I am well looking forward to picking it up in a few weeks... Jesus tho, that net code has to be up there with some of the worst in souls like history. I thought people were using cheat engine 😂

Yo bro I got a question even going into new game plus+ did you cap your levels at 125 and stop leveling up all together? I did new game zero just to get all my inferno spells and complete some side quest and I plan to go into new game+ once I finish up. Currently level 120
I'm pure melee unga bunga build and it is so annoying to meet spellcasters 90% of the times, it seems so broken in pvp. I hope I can meet Oroboro for a decent good ol'fashioned sword and board one day
When the online isn't shit man the game is so fun. Potentially better than ER and the fashion in this game is PERFECTION! Seems like Oro is enjoying the game will have to try and catch a stream.
The online can probably never be truly fixed due to UE5s issues + the peer to peer system they implemented. I'm holding out hope they'll fix it though. As of right now EVERYTHING is host side causing the insane teleporting after they hit you on their screen.

they seem to. pretty sure that’s the case. either way, unless weight is a factor or you’re dual wielding, keeping a light shield and upgrading it for the rune slots is worth it for the stat boosts.
Does the great sword have hyper armour? I was going to do a str/fth build and dual wield massive hammers (using the rune to make one weight nothing) but I ended up going full faith early game, as the light sabre is probably the best, early weapon you can get. I had never done a faith build before, so it's new.
When the swing is launch it seems to. But there is one eye I love to put in the lamp that makes you "tank" anything when you charge heavy attack and transform damage into grey health. It work a bit like a parry move, you have to time correctly but it's great.
Ive gotten my hands on 3 of the adyr tincts so far. Its so wild how much variation there is in the quality of matches going on. You cant help but laugh when your opponent is 50 ft from you swinging the air and you lose all your health lmfao 😂😂
honestly, i think it’s just that those who preorder got the Dark Crusader starting class early (you can still get it in game) and it’s a strength / radiance build, so people just kept using that. hard to call anything “meta” in the first week.
And the game push the radiance quite hard. Pieta's sword is the fisrt boss weapon you can buy and it's really good. Smite is good. If you want lore you need radiance and you get radiance spells like candys. 😅
Had a dude just spam radiance spells at me the entire time. The two Pieta clones, and I was in the area right before judge cleric so I had those dumb radiance witches shooting at me. SOOOOO as soon as I got close after defeating the NPCs it was over for the invader :v. Not a fan of these invaders, think I miss being invaded in DS3 more 🤣
I put 2 gravix and the craftsman essence on my Big Greg with 3 gravix on an offhand Jeffery Dagger on a 50str/50rad split. 2H ring and holy dmg ring. Big bonk gaming. Does even more damage on Devotion’s Might. One shots if you don’t block. Killed a player with 1460 hp one time.
If I am being invaded at a bad time, I will use the spell every time. Like for instance today, I was deep into a zone. Died. On way back to get 25k souls, was invaded. I was blocked from retrieving the souls until the fight completed. So I used the 1 hit spell.
i’ve only been invaded ONCE on ps5, and was immediately melted by instantly cast and overlapping fire spells. kinda disappointed 😕 edit- also, engaging in co op or invading right now on ps5 has the potential to f*ck you save and reboot your level to 60 with some weird dev build that has ZERO inferno. fun….🤗
This game feels more like ds2 but with actual possibility to fight against multiple opponent's.(at least you can heal fast). But parry looks overpowered right now. Some spells,and animation's,just looks wrong.

Surprised you didn't crash in every single pvp fight with how unoptimized UE5 is. I can barely play for an hour without a crash and I have the latest drivers always. Worse yet I know the temp fix is to go into your user Appdata local file and clear the cache in the LOTF2 location and verify it on steam.
pvp is just an afterthought atm, theres no regional stuff, no level gating to prevent max level characters invading or being invaded at low levels etc. It needs work for sure. the P2P doesn't help either.

I love playing co-op & just slapping an invader around thinking they should've thought it through. My radiance spells melt bosses & crap on invaders as they try to load in. PvP isnt PvP if you need enemy AI to do your job hence why invasions shouldn't be a thing if enemies only attack hosts.
There is no 'meta.' The game doesn't have level-based, or weapon-upgrade-based, matchmaking brackets of any kind. A level 8 can match with someone who is level 200. They just downscale damage to compensate.

He equipped an eye that makes all charge attacks have no poise and any damage received is wither damage.
