I got fed up with the expensive fruit ecosystem and sold my iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch to this. Honestly, best decision i ever made in years. A lot of ppl would regret it, but not me, who is now happily embracing minimalism.
Thank you for your review Sam. I was eagerly waiting for it since launch. As for me, I don't ever use wireless charging, because I mostly stay next to my desk and all the ports, and I rarely ever capture photos, and in times that I do, I don't really bother myself as much with great quality. And I don't play games, so Nothing's light AOSP software skin along with smoother animations with 120 Hz for me is decent enough.
Wow, the intro and production are incredible! Especially considering you do it all yourself (as far as I remember). Props to you, mate! Love your content.
I love your videos mate but this is harsh on the camera.. the phone is cheaper than the Galaxy A35.. and that camera is absolutely rubbish. The camera is fine for 99% of people. I wouldn't call it a downside when its the same price as an iphone 11 from half a decade ago..
The reviewer forgets most of the time how mutch this device costs and what we get for the money. From my experience with it: 10 points from 10. For the phone, not the reviewer.
Ok so... Is better than most of the phones for the price range, and the battery is good, cameras are ok, no wireless charging (Not a problem for me) and sometimes lags (I think the lagging issues can be fixed on a Software Patch but ok)... I think it works for me, i'm buying one
bought one online and after a few days returned it. Exchanged it for the same price a55 which is already the 12gb ram model I get so much better battery life/performance and overall phone feel with the aluminum frame i never thought an exynos would fair better than a mediatek
@@everydaydose7779did you get the 12gb version of the NP2A. In some tests the Nothing CMF phone 1 is roughly equal to the A55 in the performance arena
As a budget phone buyer I'm fine with compromises, I just need to find a phone that compromises on the areas that I don't care about. That's how I ended up with the Nothing 2a this time around.
@@TuanMinh-sv2gq having owned it for weeks now, it's not really that bad, it can handle day to day tasks. Heck you can even play a game in pop up mode and still have good performance.
What a performance! Thank you for the review. You're a true asset to TH-cam. As mentioned, the intro is simply perfect; they should consider hiring you for their product promotions. Wishing you all the best, and keep up the great work. You inspire me time and time again. 🙏🚀
I can't really understand why Nothing keep making phones bigger and bigger, 2a have oportunity to be small factor phone like default iPhones. I will buy it immediatly, hate Nothing(1) have giant screen.
I hope this design remains ONLY for their A phones, rather than spreading to the rest of the line. Saying they look like an iPhone, when everything is a glass sandwich is just absurd to me (and IK sam isn't alone in saying that). I also just really like the design of the Phone One and Two.
Yeah. I really agree that its camera performance is the biggest drawback. I also resorted to gcam, and I hope there's a gcam in the future that can utilize the 50 MP camera hardware. Nonetheless, it's still a great phone.
Wireless charging is kind of important for me. If my iPhone 13 mini didn't have it, I would be struggling with charging my phone since its charging port is not acting perfectly.
i know they used plastic on the back to save money but they should have made it frosted so it doesnt pick up fingerprints and scratches that quickly, and youll still be able to see the underside bits too
lemme tell you this... nothing is aiming for the indian market with this one. i own nothing phone 2 and its an expensive phone amongst my friends and it even goes as fligship phone among my friends. in india "midrange" is the price at which 2a is at right now.
It took me 15 minutes to find out that Nothing 2a doesn't recognize fingernail touch correctly, and it's causing constant errors while scrolling - unintended clicks instead of scroll. My every phone in history, and every other I've checked, could swipe content even with only fingernail.
$350?????? Not in my part of town. In south Eastern Victoria, the price of that phone is $550. Still not bad,but considering the performance issues with the sub-par cameras, it may not be worth it,at least in my opinion. If you don't care much about cameras or performance, then you can spend less on a different brand, but if you want something with better performance, and better cameras, for $100 or $150 more, you could get a midrange samsung or something. I'm not a samsung fan boy or anything, I'm just saying.
While you are judging this phone like a flagship one, remember this is a mid ranger targeted towards normal to moderate users. Also the less you pay the less you will get, so i guess you can get down of your high horses and review it like a mid range😂
Here in India, I can get it for roughly 19k (8gb,128gb) after offers (350AUD in conversion). Should I go for it? Currently using a Moto Edge 30 which is riddled with green lines.
Im still waiting on my white phone 2a from jb hi fi aus. They have stock of all the other phones just not the white. And i dont want the black due to fingerprint issues.
Wireless charging (really plugless charging) is a totally unnecessary luxury feature. I don't get why it's such a big deal that it's not on their budget phone... If you want luxury features buy the luxury model...
Verdict is this is a budget range phone with decent performance and lousy camera. But you are only paying $350. So that is to be expected. If you want decent phone and good camera for cheap. Get a pixel 7a
If you're in US then yes this phone is pretty good for the price, but on other place where Xiaomi, POCO or IQOO exist then this phone is not worth the price
Ig it is unfair to compare the camera to the lights of the flagship give that it isn't one, for the price i feel it well and truly justifies the camera, also with time the camera processing will only improve ( phone 2a user)
Got it at 260$ in India for 8gb+128gb base variant & for that money all is well. Cameras are definitely on the weaker side but can be improved via software updates. Optimization game also warrants an upgrade. But for that price, it's the best phone for stock Android lovers😊
Issue with this phone is the Pixel 7a, A55, One plus 12R, and just a used year old flagship makes this device awkward. I seen the horror stories with their awful customer service. So you can either gamble on a no name, or have a little more security with a known brand like Google. Google takes care of their customers. When I worked wireless they were the only ones that did and they sent a lady 3 Pixel 7 Pros within 3 months cause she just had bad luck and kept getting defective units after the warranty period expired.
no wireless charging...........yes please......generates heat, less efficient, and slow...........why does anyone need that....only because that's cool....
same, got mine 2 months ago at 340. phones are getting so good to be able to last 6-8 years if treated right, if not just change the battery for the most. It really doesn't make sense getting a mid/low end phone if you can get and 1-2 year old flagship that these days have 5+ years of support
In the US, Nothing is non-existent. We don't have them. The carriers here don't carry them. You can get it unlocked but it doesn't support most 4 & 5G bands.
I got fed up with the expensive fruit ecosystem and sold my iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch to this. Honestly, best decision i ever made in years. A lot of ppl would regret it, but not me, who is now happily embracing minimalism.
Same here. It was like riding a tricycle. Apple user, when being an Apple user wasn't "cool". WTHH2A!

Design Of The Phone 2a is Out Of This World....Very Aesthetic😍

That you had to timeline
It's been a while since I saw an awesome intro
Crazy how much better the camera has gotten with updates. Its now easily one of the best in the segment!

Such a cool intro! ❤
just got the 12gb model in asia for 300 bucks. Crazy Good low/mid range phone
Where did you get it from?

Most beautiful Nothing Phone 2a video i have ever watch.
I am an Indian 🇮🇳 and I have using this phone since 1 month, literally it's amazing guys in this price feel like iPhone
Finally a nothing phone 2a review I can relate with 😂

amazing intro bro
I love nothing phone 2a...so smooth✨
The quality of this video is insane
Damn Sam! That intro was a ripper!
I have it. I love it. I recommend it.

how is it
This is a great phone. My only complain is the aspect ratio. Wanted it to be narrower.
I can't really understand why Nothing keep making phones bigger and bigger, 2a have oportunity to be small factor phone like default iPhones.
I will buy it immediatly, hate Nothing(1) have giant screen.
Because people just don't buy smaller phones enough. The data doesn't lie
Typing this on the NP1 and the screen size is just perfect for me
Love the different design 💪
Watching this on the phone 2a coming from a 6 year old nokia 7.2 this feels good.
I hope this design remains ONLY for their A phones, rather than spreading to the rest of the line. Saying they look like an iPhone, when everything is a glass sandwich is just absurd to me (and IK sam isn't alone in saying that). I also just really like the design of the Phone One and Two.
Wow..your video is getting Better..A lot better (worth to watch) !!!
Yeah. I really agree that its camera performance is the biggest drawback. I also resorted to gcam, and I hope there's a gcam in the future that can utilize the 50 MP camera hardware. Nonetheless, it's still a great phone.
Which gcam port did you use??
If NP3 come with a 3 camera , I gone buy it!
Wireless charging is kind of important for me. If my iPhone 13 mini didn't have it, I would be struggling with charging my phone since its charging port is not acting perfectly.
My soul was ready!
Lovin the video quality.

Didnt the Nothing phone 2a beat most of the competition in battery tests ? Apart from its younger sibling the Nothing CMF phone 1
i know they used plastic on the back to save money but they should have made it frosted so it doesnt pick up fingerprints and scratches that quickly, and youll still be able to see the underside bits too
