I have had my Nothing Phone 2a since 1 day before launch because I pre-ordered it and I have been incredibly happy. It's an amazing device. This has easily been the best content on the 2a I have seen. Awesome stuff!!
@@Joonpathy it's pretty good. Not the best for the price, but also not the worst. Compared to base model iPhones it isn't really that much worse. Solid video! Love to see you giving it a go. So often I see iPhone users assuming Android is ugly, buggy, and clunky when they have no experience with or actual knowledge of it. Nothing and Pixel phones are great showcases that that’s not the case at all. Considering how inexpensive the 2a is, it’s a great choice (though I do recommend trying the Phone(2), Pixel 8, and/or S24 for a more flagship experience if you’re still curious about Android) Cheers!
Interested in buying Nothing 2a? Then read till end. I have used iPhone SE, 6s and Samsung M51 in the past. So, for apple everything was good except battery and also it's price is too high. Samsung battery was good but being an iOS user you won't be comfortable using Samsung boring UI. Now I moved to Nothing 2a and I must say, it is much more than what is there on paper. It's an experience which you will only have once you have this beauty in hand. 2a is only for professional users who want clean OS, butter smooth performance and good battery. Camera is not the best in this segment and it is not gaming phone. This phone 2a has it own audience who will appreciate what it tries to offer at this price. Nothing 2a is no nonsense phone.
Nothing os is the only Android os that is aesthetically comparable to iOS. I was a long term iphone user till last year. Couldn't bring myself to spend all that money on a practically identical "new" iphone. Tried Samsung and Xiaomi, ugly as hell UI even with their theme stores that often lack complete icon support. Gave android one last try with nothing 2a. Realized that nothing os is the thing that android has been lacking. Surprised at how easy it is for any company to be the next Apple if they put more effort on the UI. Would probably upgrade to flagship nothing phone for the camera. Maybe never iphones anymore. Iphone is really boring now.

I have officially shifted from 2 phones to get to the 2a. The 1st one would be S24 in January 2024 from S23. 2nd one was OnePlus 12 in April 2024 and just yesterday to the 2a. I must say I am loving the Design Language of Nothing OS which is seriously smooth. Relatively, Samsung is yet to work on their animations and other technical glitches than launching phones literally every 3 months. With OnePlus, I understand the gripe Carl Peid must have felt. Absolutely FANTASTIC video! Probably the best video on this phone I've seen! Well done! Loved the pacing, hearing your thoughts and honestly everything about this was great!
Good insights, but I assumed the Phone (2) flagship would have been better to test drive. My only issue is that these videos are kind of the same and can be summed up to "Good Phone, but that ecosystem tho" and if thats the case then pretty much no android will sucessfully tempt the switch, as Apple has no plans to make interoperability between the two platforms, I beleive for now they'll (Android) remain a curiousity at best for steep Apple users, regardless of flashy design or bells and whistles.
One comment you made here really hit home with me. "Do I need an iPhone or do I want an iPhone". This sums me up, I have been an Apple user since 2007 but their products have become so pricey that I am sitting here wondering do I really need to spend £700-£1000 on a new iPhone when I could spend £319 on a Nothing Phone that looks amazing and has a great spec for the price. Great video!
thanks for the fantastic video. Getting a (2a) coming tomorrow. I also have the Pixel 8 Pro and the Samsung S24 Ultra. Love them both for different needs, but I want to see if I feel like I am missing too much from the more premium devices when I switch.
I'm pro photographer and I am invested like you into Apple devices. however 6 years ago I decided to stop using an iphone and switch to Android. I thought if I continue using all things Apple I would be nek chained to its system, and really isolate myself from the rest of the world in terms of the tech and the tech advancements. I really never looked back. I totally enjoy Android OS and a multitude of Android phones, and also, and this is really important as well, comparably getting a lot for not so much money. I think from a very personal point of view it's healthy and therefore really important to say no to Apple's wall.
You're used to flagship Apple products so trying a flagship Android phone from Nothing (Phone2), Samsung or Google would've been even more of a seamless experience. The cameras on those things are better than Iphone!
You should rather try NP(2) and compare it to Iphone. But if you using Iphone that long your stuck with the ecosystem (Apple Garden) and there is no chance you ever switch to some android phone.
