Riaz is like an police officer for history. He sits and waits until he receives a "TIP OFF" then flies in quickly and forensically examines the local history!
such a shame that these nice peaceful quiet people were shunned and not even allowed a graveyard burial in the local cemetary but I can feel there is a quietness and calmness about this site. something very calming. I can often feel energy, sometimes I can even feel it remotely through video, this is a beautiful place they are all at rest in this lovelly quiet area and they are happy to be there left at peace. thanks for visiting. very interesting have driven by and not realised this was there.
Great to see the graveyard. There is another legible stone dating to I think 1690, Jeremy Yewdall, who is a very many times great uncle, the family lived nearby at Carcase End. Zachary his father was at one time imprisoned at York for his beliefs. Isn't it a lovely spot, such wonderful views
I read that name a few times when doing research on this burial ground. It would be interesting to see. Beautiful spot. Must go if the sun ever comes 😊 Thanks
Just found your channel bradford lass love the videos. You should do heweden viaduct where i live at cullingworth and the scale and size is stunning and u can walk over it it ❤❤❤
I have seen an almost identical Quaker cemetery like this, walled, with a gate and with very small identical headstones hidden away in the Trough of Bowland at the village of Newton.
Some of my ancestors were Quakers in the late 17th and early 18th Centuries. Headstones were very simple with little detail on them, some were buried in their gardens before a burial ground was available. One of my ancestors died in prison , sent there for refusing to pay the tithe to the C of E.
There is a Quaker burial ground near me , it is triangular in shape surrounded by trees. Not as grand as that one. I'm now wondering if there might be stones beneath the grass ???
Idle had several non conformist churches or chapels. Seems it's still in the blood of Idlers not to conform 😊. On a side note I know a good builder of Idle who undertook restoration of the walls in the 1980's.
@@BradfordThroughTheLens Yes it's an interesting subject, I live in an ancient place in West Cornwall rich in history, I spent 6 years in West Yorkshire amazing place too, I enjoy Your videos many thanks.
The numerals are difrent, the 1 is difrent from the rest if you look at it its J it was first noted in paintings , its from 690 it part of that 1000 added yrs , Phantom time hypothesis, that historians said the J.690 ment year 1690 instead of J(esus) 690
Hi, I agree. Theres been a lot of requests for this one. I believe it's all filled in. If there is enough content to film , I will definitely look into it. Thanks for asking.
Very interesting. We have a quaker graveyard in Todmorden, very similar with no gravestones. I think that may have been part of the religious belief to not have one. All the best 👍
Shame our history will never be like thie again. We have gone down hill in a huge way due to globalism, mass immigration and a political class who despise us.
What is wrong with people that they would vandalize a burial site! There is such a sense of peace there, that if the vandals were to stop for a minute and feel it, it may help heal their angry hearts.😊
2 mins from my home I live in idle and often tell my kids the story of the quaker yard .we used to pass it most day on our way to school and I would tell my kids about this and the plane crash on the high street that much they tell me now " WE KNOW DAD" 🤣

Yes , it's really interesting and peaceful. The views across the valley are amazing.
Do try to take a visit on a sunny day.
My Father's ashes are buried near there. A perfect spot for him as he loved rambling and the scenic view I know he would've really appreciate it. ❤

Cromwell would have had their guts for guitars in those days.

Is this further down the road and hidden away by houses.?

I'm afraid not. It's tucked away on the edge of a field.

There used to be quite a few headstones 20 years ago, wonder what’s happened to them.
