  • Church of Christ sermon: What the Bible really says about being gay.
    This sermon was made in response to the video "What the Bible really says about being gay," which is an animated video that tries to teach that the Bible doesn't teach against homosexuality. I had originally planned on showing parts of their video and responding to it, but since they have a standard TH-cam licences, I think they would have been able to have my video taken down, so I only describe what the video says.
    If you want to see their video and see their spin, you can view their video from this link • What The Bible Really ...

    I keep it real simple for my teenage daughters. The question of sexuality is who can I have sex with? Does God limit how I can fulfill my desire? Of course the sermon clearly answers that, when it comes to this desire it can only be fulfilled in the marriage relationship. Then who can be married? God has spoken on this in the New Testament and what he commanded could be done excludes all of the things that we might be inclined to do.

      What is God's Word to someone with zero sexual attraction to the opposite sex? Is it compulsory lifelong celibacy no matter how miserable and hopeless that is?

    Preacher, can you please explain something this is coming up many times before like in the last scripture in this video says do not put your faith in princes and kings or son of men. But Jesus is referred to as the son of man. As a Christian I understand this being like we are all children of God but Jesus is his son Also, Satan is often quoted as being the Morning Star but in Revelations Jesus is quoted as being the Morning Star. As a Christian I can say that Jesus being the Morning Star is a light of New Hope in Satan being like a falling star was glorious but now is burned out. I am confused on why scripture is purposefully going back and forth with many phrases and words sometimes it being destructive and sometimes being renewed like water in the Old Testament obviously destruction but in the New Testament obviously rebirth baptism. My question I guess, is how to explain the reasoning behind this to newcomer Christians and/or non believers who use this as a tactic to. Prove that the Bible is flawed because it uses the same word for good and bad 2 purposely decieve and confuse. Thank you

    How crafty people try to twist God’s clear and plain laws…..their conscious condemns them….perhaps that is why they constantly are in our faces trying to MAKE us accept their behavior as ok…..how twisted…..trying to justify their sin…..

    'Sodomy' as defined in Merriam Webster is defined as 'anal or oral copulation' with another person and many US states had anti-sodomy laws which included prohibitions on oral sex. So that must mean that a heterosexual married couple enjoying oral sex are also 'sodomites', right?

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  ปีที่แล้ว

      It would help if you used Greek Lexicans to get the definitions, as the English words translated from Greek sometimes don't give you specific meanings. Gingrich gives the following definition of sodomites that makes the answer to your question no. "one who engages in same-sex activity, sodomite, pederast."

    Can you do one on the Government? I don't understand it , because so many Governments are not doing right. The Holy Bible says that it not be cantrary to good works, but a lot are .

    We know from Genesis 19 that gang rape is wrong. There is nothing prior to Leviticus 18 explicitly stating that homosexual behaviour is sinful per se.

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I shared the verses that say it is sinful. It doesn't matter if they are before or after Lev. 18, God's Word says it sinful.

    Here is Mr. Cougan Collins, a married man with children - who had the chance of miserable and lonely lifelong celibacy but (surprise surprise) did not opt for that. He is telling homosexuals that God's plan for them is the lifelong celibacy that he (Mr. Cougan Collins) wouldn't dream of embracing for himself. Mr. Collins doesn't really care how miserable, depressing, frustrating, isolating or hopeless lifelong celibacy as none of that affects him. But no matter how awful it is, it is God's plan for homosexual people. Nothing surprising and not much to see here.

      Another emotional argument. I could say, I want to be able to murder people because it brings me joy, but so and so thinks that God doesn't want me to be happy, etc.

    So why don't you ever preach on justification, sanctification, adoption and glorification?

    As a Protestant, a conservative evangelical, you don't respect the Church Fathers, calling them non-inspired. Yet you quote selectively from them. How can you do that with a straight face?

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The early church fathers are uninspired. What is wrong with stateing the truth? Yes, you can look at what they wrote to see what they were thinking and saying early on, but that is about as far as you can take it. You cannot use them an inspired source.

    Lesbian sexual acts are never mentioned in the Mosaic Law nor elsewhere in the Hebrew Scriptures. That must mean it was OK in the Old Testament, right? For all that was not permitted was specified in the Law.

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is bad reasoning. If it wrong for two males, it is wrong for two females. The Bible does not have to mention ever specific detail. It would be like me telling you, don't eat those purple grapes. Yet you find a few that a bit different in color and decide it is ok for you to eat them because they are not purple.

    Josephus was a non-Christian historian so why are you quoting an unbeliever?

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't remember off the top of head what I quoted from him, but there is nothing wrong with quoting historians. Of course, his is not inspired writer, so one should always keep that in mind.

    Our Lord Jesus Christ said nothing directly on homosexual behaviour or relationships. But He quite clearly denounces hypocrisy. It would be good to preach on this and direct it at your congregation and other fundamentalist Christians as in my experience these are the very worst, the most vile hypocrites.

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  ปีที่แล้ว

      I showed in video what Scripture teaches on the matter, and that should suffice. I preach on topics, which means hypocrisy is exposed all the time.

      I am not judging anyone based on my opinion. I am simply preaching the truth. You are right, the BIble does say something about judging, Here it is: John 7:24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."
