Not only a fantastic video of rockhounding but an exceptional educational one too! Love your videos. Burros and Burro Creek not odd at all and they are soooo cute! Got that on my must visit sites list. It just keeps getting longer and longer lol. Once I start the travel I may not make it back home for a year lol.
Great video Elley! Thanks for not revealing its exact location! I can empathize with your battle scars, my most recent journey out there I was breaking rocks and not wearing safety glasses (which I had in the tool bag). But a large chip flew off one of the rocks I was hammering on and hit me in the corner of my right eye. Now the eye is full of floaters and partially detached retina. Glad to see you were wearing glasses. My lesson learned....banging on rocks...wear some sort of eye protection. 😉 Looks like you found some great pieces to work. Can't wait to see what you've done with them!
Burro Creek purple agate is the best! I just tumbled a batch and it took an amazing polish! The little dendrites on it is so cool! Kind bars ARE THE BEST! Sucks about the sway bar link!
Eley, I appreciate the geology you infuse in your videos. I was just at burro creek Monday.I did not find any thing like in your video. would you share the location?
I love this place! The pastelite hardly needs to be polished. I’ve made bookends out of some of it. Didn’t even have to polish it AT ALL😁! Great video.
Watching you on the hill is what I would imagine it would be like trying to keep up with a speed reader that reads 50 pages a minute. Good finds and video. I am glad I didn't burn out my pause button so it's all good.
My wife is upset, we were at the Burro Creek Campground a few years back and didn't find anything like this. What she did find was a pack of wild boar the scared the crap out of her (with good reason). We were only there for a few hours and we didn't know where to look or what we were looking for. Now we know for the next trip out there. Thanks Elley.
Not much in the way of rocks in or near the campground. Most of the good stuff is within a couple miles of it though. The rock club in Quartzsite has guided hunts there every winter. You should check it out.
I just bought property across the mountain in Yuca. (wanted property on signal but couldn't find the right piece of ground) If you had crossed the creek and gone back towards the mines there is another instance of pastalite along the way. Not sure its as colorful. Also if you hang right after crossing the creek you can 4 wheel all the way back to the road just below the campground.
What a great adventure in a surreal landscape of high silicate layers of agate rich heaven! And all of those semi-precious stones form in that superheated silica matrix, and make those pretty colors! Wow! Thank you I learned so much from your videos.! Stop moving the camera so fast Elley,,,! You're making me dizzy and I want to look at that area closer. Thank you
Love your channel. Live just north of burro creek. Have a whole lot of various samples. Lots of good crystals, riolite and green crystals. Would love youed impute. Will send u picks when I get a chance. U would love this area. Scott and gina.
I went out there! OMG!! It’s a wonderland! I found a ton of stuff!! Huge and small specimens ! I was amazed- however do u ever run into strange strangers when ur out? I was alone and someone was giving me creeps big time! So I didn’t get to spend as much time as I would have liked.. so- is the blue pestilite- not opal? How do u tell the difference?
The sway bar link is an easy fix. You should tell him to look into sway bar disconnects. It will give you more suspension travel when you are out in the rocks. The rock club in Q goes to Burro Creek once or twice every winter. You should join us.
Ellie as one of your biggest fans and a real rock hound.. have you went and got any of the blue agate in Washington. Especially the ellensburg blue.. it's amazing
Dammit woman! Place the sledgehammer down, and slowly back away. Nice & slow. JK (mostly). Looks like y'all had a great time. Beautiful rocks, too. Rock on
So I have a bunch of other material that looks like this. Recovered up north of cave creek. Light grey, sometimes almost blue, and some others that are translucent black. (Rare) Beautiful brecciated designs. With little crystal inclusions. I was under the impression that they were Opal. Am I totally wrong on this or what? Is there Opal material that looks similar to your finds?
I live in SE AZ and want to know how do I know where to look? There are random places all over, that have tons of rocks, but I don't know where to look unless it's right in my face....
There are three or four different books available for Arizona that'll tell you a lot of good locations. Once you run through some of those you'll start to have an idea where to look on your own.
Highway speeds are not recommended with the sway bar disconnected on that year of f250. Off road, it is fine to run without the sway bar. At highway speed, you can get a lot of body roll and you may even lose control of the truck in a collision avoidance situation.
@@ssteele1812 I cannot confirm that with the Ford however I can easily confirm that with my jeep and my Land Cruiser. Body roll I’m driving a lift a jeep I don’t care about body roll on the freeway. Or I’m driving a big ass Lexus Land Cruiser. However every Ford I ever drove that was lifted wanted to buck you off like a bronco 2. Must be a bump steer issue
Hello dude I am an amateur rock hounder who lives in Miami Arizona. If you would ever like to have another person join you or would like to Check out some places around Globe/Miami
