    I like bowling balls with multiple colours.

  • @danfaber7723
    @danfaber7723 2 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    I might be in the minority here. I've always been a fan of multi color bowling balls. They are appealing to me and I feel like I get a better read on what the ball is doing when it transitions down the lanes. I have gone out of my way to try to get ones that fit my game, but if I had to choose between solid color or multi color ball, I'll always choose the many color one. I've also been a fan of plain white bowling balls too. I've had the AMF White XS (one of the earliest reactive resin balls), and the Track 400A SE and I am pretty sure that I'll end up with the Black Widow Ghost at some point (it's a favorite for some of the pros and I've really liked the way that it rolls) .

    • @Cbchris2113
      @Cbchris2113 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got a chance to test the black widow ghost. It was a pin down so for me having a higher rev rate it was a bit different. I definitely love the ball itself but I would for sure get it pin up for me personally

    I don't mind bright colors as long as they contrast, but not solid bright like the Helios (going to get diiirrrtyyy).
    Just threw the Gem at a Matchmaker event and was surprised how well it worked for me. Really hit hard for me, too. I was just a tad more consistent with the Nova (after 2k surface applied- was lane shined and the pro shop didn't have 3k). I am very speed dominant and left-handed so tend to throw it up the gutter anyway, but both of them worked very well. Ended up buying the Nova and Phaze4.

    Never liked silver, white, or blue on bowling balls. My UC3 is pretty much the only one I like but it's also pretty dark and it goes well with the orange. I like to see bowling balls that have contrasting colors because it makes it easier for me to see where and when my ball is starting to churn up

    I thought that Gem was a house ball for a second because the colors so closely matched the motif of those lanes. Made me think about something lacking in most ball reviews... Let's see the balls under black lights! Up vote please if you agree.

    Thru the OG physix Tuesday for transition. Man still rolls so sweet. 230s on this house transition is difficult but that ol girl made it possible. Gem is too much imho. Colors and stupid early.

  • @thatloudCG5

    Jung, here's a cheat code from 2012:
    I had the original Defiant back when the Paragon weight block (original name) first debuted. The MicroBite cover did the exact same thing out of the box and was ridiculously early so to solve that problem, my Defiant (and Hyper Cell) ran into a bottle of Step 2. The Gem will become more usable and probably kick your Proton PhysiX out of your bag. I shined it up enough to get it through the front and still use it on stupid heavy oil. You can have your asym ladder go Gem, Nova, then RST-X2 with that.
    Side note: I threw my Hyper Cell on 47ft Scorpion with it shiny. BIG MISTAKE but I had hold right (LH/2H) and it was a matter of don't miss outside.

Like Goldilocks, I’m thinking of going for the Reality in the middle but my Pro Shop has a sale on the gem, so here’s the question; would a pin down Gem be basically the Reality or should I just go with the Reality and be done

  • @cwright4552
    @cwright4552 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would like to see a ball speed posted and maybe a rev rate, and possibly even axis tilt. I find it difficult to relate what my ball reaction would be if my delivery is not like the reviewer. Slower, faster, less revs more revs, no thumb, axis tilt. Maybe with our new technology, set up an overhead view so we can see the progression down the lane, possibly a slow-mo version and the actual breakpoint coupled with the colored oil pattern being used. Just suggesting to dial in comparisons, not really sure why this hasn't been done yet. All the reviews I've seen are just the reviewer throwing a ball and talking about the reaction, we can see the mark they are throwing but after that only the reviewer knows how soft or hard they are throwing it, what the rev rate is and that reviewers axis tilt. Who will be the first?

    For me solid color cover stocks are harder to track, therefore as far colors go lime green from my dv8 poison pearl. It's logos die out as your throwing it and you have a really hard time making adjustments as it flares.

    Not really sure if I can explain it correctly, but I like contrasting? colors on multicolored balls. If they colors are too similar they blend too much with my rev rate and it's harder to tell what the ball is doing. Hypercell Fused / Crux Prime were great though. Gem looks like it could fit me pretty well with how similar they seem. I don't like solid asyms that are super sharp on the back end.

    I've heard that white hooks a lot too. Specifically balls that have white IN them, not white balls - completely white balls are crap according to the person I was talking to. Interesting, I know they did a study on the colors at some point so definitely some hook more than others. And I'm not a fan of pink on balls really either, nor purple if they're prominent. Although, I don't mind the original Idol. Weird but that's how it is for me.

I've got a trend 2, timeless, and a spare ball, but neither the timeless or trend 2 are really any good and on fresh lanes for me, I'm a two hander with mid to high rpm, with a fast speed so I'm always fighting my speed to try and get what I have to hook.

    When I drill my Gem 💎 on Tuesday the 15th of March I'm going to compare it to the UFO ,not many games on it lol. You're video makes me question everyone else's take on the Gem however. Thinking I should just plug the side hole in my Haywire and give it ago again. I was always told gold hooks the most. Very informative video.

    Now that the Spectre has been banned from USBC competition. Heard a rumor at league that there are two more Storm balls under review to get removed from competition. What do you all think is under inverstigation? I'm gonna throw out Idol Helios and Nova. #integrityoneday

    • @BornIn1500
      @BornIn1500 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well... there's only 2 options here. Either Storm knew about the issue and tried to get away with it. OR they are grossly negligent and have no quality control, which puts all of their bowling balls at risk of failing tests. The failing rate was statistically over 98% for the Spectre. I'm betting that some other models, especially ones using the R3S coverstock, will be too soft as well.

    • @jrproshop
      @jrproshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea we have no idea, could be anything of why it was too soft. Cover has been used before so what changed ?
