Just started bowling again after about 15 years off. It's like starting over new and ball tech is all over the place. Your ball reviews are awesome! I'm also rehabbing a recent shoulder injury and the doc's cleared me to use limited mobility and a 10lb ball. Would love to see a series on rehabbing bowling injuries and using lower ball weights to build back mobility and strength.
I got my infinite about a week ago and I’m in love with it. I used to love the AstroPhysix and this feels like an amazing replacement for it, at least for how I throw the ball.
@@drasword almost grape ish. But tbh it's smell only becomes prominent after lots of bowling, and even then it's not overpowering. You definitely wouldn't notice it while bowling
I have to say, I wasn't a huge fan of what I had been seeing of the Infinite so far. It looked really slow and lazy for a lot of reviewers. This pattern and Jung's stupid rev rate look like a much better match up for it.
the farthest ive got travel for bowling was with my youth league many years ago was only Fort lauderdale, FL well i live in jacksonville, FL so it was 4 hours for a state tounament, very fun got to see new places, new center, sucks waking up early to bowl sunday morning but it was really good really enjoyed it. went with my friend, drive down there friday afternoon, then bowled saturday then sunday. ive been bowling for 15+ years and i hope that i somehow could go to a tournament outta state sometime.
I bought a 2nd hand proton, has a small chip few scratches. And have easily played over 60 games since Owned, and the ball still rips. Truly fun ball to use
You seem surprised that your original Proton is still working after 1 year and 8 months. Questions: 1. If a Resin ball is properly cleaned, surfaced and stored, why shouldn't it last for decades? 2. How long do you expect a resin ball to last?
Here’s what I don’t understand: These big slow asyms “need oil” which is obvious, but do they need length or do they need volume? I always thought big slow asyms were good on short patterns with high volume because they blend out the heavy fronts into the dry back ends and avoid that violent motion. But if big slow asyms are meant for short AND for long, then when would you ever use a quicker response ball? Burn only? That doesn’t seem right.
@@aliyassargento775 I agree. I feel like most pattern discussion focuses only on the length, but volume is also so important when it comes to equipment selection. I would expect a quicker response ball than any of the ones shown here to look better on Route 66; it’s only 23 mL.
@@enigmazero8624 i think the length to volume ratio is something some people don’t look at enough. It’s definitely one of the things to keep in mind when choosing equipment.
In my honest opinion, a quick response ball is only used when you have a very defined area such as house and those higher pacing patterns. Just because the ball can have a bigger entry angle thus higher carry percentage.
Great vid.Jungo is the best love how you guys really show what each piece does. Not to mention the fact that Jungo throws it amazing!Keep up the vids. The whole team is awesome
Scored a free Proton Physix last week. It'll definitely be too strong for my local wood lane center the vast majority of the time, but nice to have at tournaments.
Put the Infinite Physix in my bag and it is a game changer. If you have issues moving left and playing deeper into the lane this ball can really help. Have not traveled very far for tournaments, a couple hours from home..
I traveled to Abu Dhabi for the Special Olympics World games nationals for Bowling in 2019 in March . This was the farthest I ever traveled too. I competed in 3 events Team singles and doubles in the special Olympics world games 2019 in Abu Dhabi And now I am a Special Olympics world Olympian champion Olympian athlete now with a title in my name. I came back with 2 bronze medals and a gold medal in the Special Olympics world games in Abu Dhabi in 2019 in March. And now I am a celebrity special Olympics athlete now.
California is a big state. I live central California and we use to travel up and down regularly. P.S. My wife loves yours release. She said you are super smooth!
I bought a Proton PhysiX 2 weeks ago based on Storm's Matchmaker tool (after determining my revs, PAP, axis tilt, etc.) and have only used it maybe 6 games so far. It hooks more than my early 90's Power Torq which is pretty beat up, but I was expecting a lot more out of it honestly. I wish I knew the oil pattern that was on the lanes today, but I was bowling far to the right, throwing over the 2nd arrow, and my Proton was barely making it to the pocket. I had my Proton drilled with a 4 x 4 x 1 layout per Storm's layout sheet which I chose because the house I've been bowling at recently oils their lanes pretty heavily. Again, it's certainly hooking better than my old Power Torq, but I'm bummed that I'm not experiencing more hook on heavy oil. Any thoughts?
I'm seeing the same out of my Proton Physix. Expected more hook out the ball, but not giving up on it yet as it does carry well on Medium oil conditions. Looking forward to seeing a response from the JR Pro Shop team. Also wonder if the Proton is polished in this comparison.
@@DubCAU I started playing with different surface finishes. Using a 500 grit pad, my Proton is really strong in general. I actually ran into a problem at a recent tournament that had drier lanes. Now I'm looking for another ball for such occasions (debating between the Fate and Night Road.... leaning towards the Night Road).
@@SuperJ213 Not sure if you're completely linked to one brand...if not take a look at the Hammer Raw Hybrid. It's not expensive & could be another option
@@DubCAU I'll admit, I've been mainly interested in Storm products since getting back into bowling, but I rock a Phantom bowling bag, carry my Columbia Power Torq in it with my Proton PhysiX, and wipe them down with an Ebonite towel! I didn't care for Hammer (or Rhino) in the 90's, but things have changed a lot since then. I'll keep the Raw Hybrid in mind.
why is he not mentioning the deflection from the infinite? like thats a big problem for some bowlers like me. it just seems like the ball is burning up its energy a little too much and dies right at the pins and doesnt drive through the pins.
I'm hesitant to get it, hearing it's a bit stronger than the proton. My proton is a bit too much ball for my house, even on fresh. Was gonna replace my halo pearl with the infinite physics. Any suggestions on which ball I should go with if it's too much ball?
Altered reality on eBay would be closest core numbers and cover wise to a halo pearl.. yes it got Chad Murphy’d but if you don’t bowl nationals or the masters it should affect you. Reality check is also pretty angular once it lane shine. Infinite is way more ball in the front 30 feet than a halo pearl
My strongest ball right now is still a gravity evolve lol honestly I could pick up a proton or infinite as a 1 ball n the evolve could be a ball down from one of those I’m just not sure which to pick
You can definitely see the infinite is smooth breaks earlier than the reality. But I still love my proton, just bought another one’ Figured this super Nova will take the protons place when it hits Stateside. Tournaments sport or longer I love my proton then I use my Reality. Always look forward to your videos..Pin up looked awesome on infinity
Dang, I bought a Reality a couple of weeks ago, but would've purchased the Infinite Physix after watching this video. That said, the Reality does really well with my speed dominant approach, better than the Gem did.
May I ask why the gem doesn’t work with your speed dominant approach? I play the right side of the lane and throw hard as well. Trying to decide which will be my next “big” ball.
Awesome ball review and comparison! I live in Southern New Jersey and had traveled to the Philippines to bowl a tournament back in 2001. My expectations were not all that high since I didn't understand all the different variables that comes into play in competitive/league bowling. Brought the relic (16 lbs.) Danger Zone HP-H and the old Slingshot silver (as my spare ball). Good thing for my low expectations... I lost and didn't really care. Lol
