  • In this video you will see the Tie-Rod assembly build with new parts to replace the OEM 47 year old Tie-Rods. This video is part of a series of videos which will show the complete rebuild of the rather interesting steering set-up these C3 Corvettes have. This video will lead into the next step of putting all this together. Stick around for that one coming up soon.

John before i begin i just want to thank you so much for posting your videos. I just drove my 77 around the corner after changing the front end and boy oh boy i made some boo boo's! i called my mechanic shop to see when i could drop it off and then i started to think, what did i miss? You showed me my mistakes and im happy now to make my the changes as soon as the rain subsides. Again thanks a million!

Hi Johnathan, where did you buy the C3 Restoration book? I already have the Haynes manual.

I've had that book for at least 5 years, but I just checked on E-bay and you can get it there under " How to restore your C3 Corvette 1968-1982". It's a lot $40 something for the book, but useful to have. Tha ks for watching and for the comment. J

Hi Johnathan, I will be starting restoration on my 77 this spring. I have a 2 ton floor jack and 4 jack stands (3 ton each). What is your procedure for getting the car up on the 4 jack stands? Thank you, Richard.

Hey Richard, thanks for watching and thanks for adding to the quality of this channel buy providing some excellent comments. I built some wooden cribs which I use for when the car has wheels on it. In this case with no wheels I just used a 3 ton jack and went around all four corners and gradually lifted the car in small increments while supporting with the jack stands. After going around the car several times, I finally made it to the height that I needed it to be. Getting it down will be fun and basically the same in reverse. Always lots of work with these cars lol. Keep up the work on your C3. Most of my work was optional initially as it was driving and working great....I just wanted to refresh and restore as much as possible. I have a much nicer C3 on the road which I will start profiling on this channel to feature another C3 and maybe people would like to see a vintage C3 that looks brand-new with 47 years of original paperwork. That C3 is on my intro "motorcycology" montage going around the same corner as the motorcycle. C3s are my passion and I guess they are for most of us. Take care and thanks again for your comment. J
