- We left our off-grid home build in Vermont last October for a winter work camping adventure in Arizona with our Bigfoot travel trailer (and our two cats). Now it's the middle of April, and we don't know quite what we will find when we finally arrive back home! #rvlife #diy #offgrid
I'm so glad to see that you arrived home safely. Two frozen pipes are not so bad in the scheme of things. And no stinky smell in the house! That's a win. I'm looking forward to watching the next steps on the journey. Don't stop taking videos.

Add an air pressure fitting on the water lines, immediately after the shut off valve, to blow out the water for winterizing.
Or add a valve immediately after the supply shut off to act as air flow, and vacuum the water out of the lines for winterizing.
And of course leave the fixtures slightly open.
Will you have adequate battery and solar to power a pipe wrap warming element?

Home sweet home!! I'm SO very happy for you that you've found minimal damage. I can't believe the car battery revived after 48 hours charging!! Yaaay!! And you made it home without being pummeled along the way by a massive hail storm. Yesterday I read a weather forecast of possible baseball size hail and 90mph straight-line winds in the storm system moving thru the midwest. 😖!! So far this spring we've been closely missed by several of those severe storms.
