    For what it’s worth, I know a blogger and book author who makes their living from their writing. And they’ve written entire novels from just their iPhone. Even sent it to their publisher, made edits,and published the books online. I bet you could absolutely get all your writing done with a setup like this.

    • @LandmanEDC
      @LandmanEDC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Wow, from an iPhone only is impressive.iOS is my preferred writing setup because of lack of distraction. I feel like my Mac pulls me in 3 or 4 directions when I’m using it. I don’t feel that way when writing on the iPad. Thanks for your comment and insight!

    Funny story, I traveled recently this year (2024) and I said the same thing about the USB A plug, so I made sure that was the only cable I brought. NOTHING HAD USBA. Everything was USBC. So. I agree, to bring an A with you, but the world is coming around. C is becoming more popular. (finally)

    One thing I really hope for the next day sling version is if they could add a small side buckle in the middle of the strap to further secure the sling (especially for the aer day sling max) to the back of your body.
    Beside that the aer day sling is my favorite sling whenever I don't wanna being my boox go 10.3 ereader.
    Been using Wandrd rogue 6L to accommodate the device as well the other items i usually carry in the aer day sling (pc handheld, iem, keyboard, mouse, portable battery)

      Obsidian is key for me. It also works on Android. I like the fact that my files are still just text files and not some proprietary format. I loved Ulysses, but it was difficult to get your files out of it.

    Grate video! I just wish the tech world would make a line of slings that catered to us EDC guys. I fill myself bouncing back and forth from a tech sling to my edc sling. Closest to fit both worlds for me is the 511 18L sling.

    That's a nice gear. I can fit my setup literally in my pocket. I have a samsung fold 6, folding keyboard, microft arc mouse (folds flat) and a special carrier that carries all cables, sd cards and hdmi.

    Logitech Keys to Go 2 fits perfectly in your setup, very thin solution.

    • @LandmanEDC
      @LandmanEDC  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So I tried the Keys 2 Go, very good. But I didn’t prefer it for a couple of reasons. 1 - despite being super thin, it still wouldn’t fit in this sling. 2 - I needed more travel in the keys while I typed. The Keys 2 Go is a lot like the first iPad Pro keyboard Apple put out like 5-6 years ago - and it’s good, I just like scissor switches.
      Excellent suggestion though, and people should definitely check that board out too!

    Great set up! I looked at that Nitecore MT1A. Unfortunately, it only starts on last memorized mode. I'd like to both: 1) come in on low from off and more importantly 2) have quick access to turbo from off. No way to do both with the Nitecore. If you memorize turbo, you are going to blast everyone at the restaurant when looking at the menu. if you memorize moonlight, you have to step through the modes in a tactical situation.

    • @LandmanEDC
      @LandmanEDC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I get that. Is there a light you like that has the modes you like?

    • @ParkerBinion
      @ParkerBinion 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@LandmanEDC In the 14500 size similar to the MT1A Pro, I like the Weltool T1 Pro V2 or Pro Tac. The Pro Tac is more tactical of the two. Neither are quite as bright as the MT1A Pro, but both have great tint and hot spots.
      In the 18650, there are a couple that are still in the "not too fat" 23-24 mm diameter range that work well - the Wurkkos FC12 and Olight Warrior 3 Mini. The Olight is not going to be as bright but will have better run times. The FC12 can actually be shortened with an 18350 tube and battery. This is what I currently carry in tactical mode. Instant access to moonlight. Instant access to turbo. From on, it's one click to medium and double click to strobe.
      Another 18350 choice is the Baton Turbo. I would carry that if it had the tail switch/side switch UI like the Warrior Mini 3. Side switch alone is no bueno for me. YMMV.
      I believe Olight is running a sale next week.

It has been great for creating the studies & for presenting them. I use Pages for document creation, Keynote & Freeform for presentations. Apple Notes is also a great tool. just curious, why would type emails on the go with a keybaord and mouse when its much faster to type direct from the screen. Pretty old fashioned. I stopped typing from my laptop since its much faster to type on a tablet/phone, a keyboard will just slow you down since you have to type the whole word

      @@LandmanEDC Yeah, that's one I use (I'm taking that and a trackpad with me to Vegas this week, for an author conference).
      Another that is portable and comfortable for writing on the go is the Logitech K380 Pebble. I've been able to fit that in the pocket of a pair of cargo shorts (not perfectly, but good enough to keep my hands free when I needed it). There's also a version with a trackpad, though that adds to its bulk.
      I've just been on the hunt for a foldable that could potentially be EDC. So far, no luck.
      The sad part is, back in the early 2000s I was using a Palm V, and had a folding keyboard for it that was perfect. But no one makes one that's even comparable to it, these days.
      Thanks for the tips and the great content! God bless!

    Excellent setup. Not one that fits me, quite as it is, though. I'm just not prone to tablets, and I gather that the centerpole of your assembly is the smallest bag that can lodge an iPad Mini. But I can't deny it's well thought and allows to carry a whole working system, and totally on a mobile scope. I'm a laptop guy, so I use a backpack, and satchels don't quite fit me for an on-the-go approach. However, back to your system, I am, indeed, also a fanny pack guy, and an adaptation of your system could fit me; I'm gonna gnaw on this video for a while. Perhaps moving from a fanny pack to a small crossdraw bag (meaning smaller than a satchel). BTW it streaks me that you are a non-multitool geek! No SAK, no Leatherman, etc., but instead a psycho-surgeon blade. Haha, just a nag. I'll be around. Be well.

      I’ve honestly considered it. It would be a KILLER setup. Unfortunately I’m too tied into the iOS ecosystem, along with my family. Yes, there are Android equivalents, and they’re fine, but my entire family is iOS. It’s a bummer not be able to switch back and forth. But I would LOVE one device!

    I’m conflicted about someone who promotes them self as leading bible study at a church and won’t tell you where they get emulator games. This is the first video of yours that I found, and I was really digging it. That part really threw me off.

    • @LandmanEDC
      @LandmanEDC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I’m sorry. It was a joke I shouldn’t have made I guess. All the games I emulate have come from ripped games I have physically owned. I shouldn’t have made the joke about where to get them - it’s a common joke everyone makes when talking about these devices, but that’s no excuse.

      @@markmeandering446Not a joke. I don’t want someone to share their games with me. I took the remark as someone that won’t tell you where they get their games b/c they get them from a place that you shouldn’t; as in downloading games for free that you should be paying for.
