As a Celtics fan, I don't think anyone should blame Ray Allen for his decision. When he left Boston there were a number of major factors involved: 1. His relationship with Rondo was irreparably broken and it was clear that the Celtics were all-in on Rondo. 2. Boston had just drafted a guy (Avery Bradley) who was already starting to eat into his minutes a bit. 3. He'd always been a bit of the odd-man-out, even fans could see that he just wasn't the same as KG and Pierce. Not lesser, but just a different personality type. 4. Allen had always had a major fear of being traded. In this case, Allen's normal fear about being traded was very well justified. Everyone in the organization knew that he and Rondo wouldn't co-exist well together for much longer. The Celtics already had Allen's 'replacement' in Bradley. For Allen, he just wanted to make sure that he could control the destination he'd be traded to. It wasn't about money for him; it was about security choosing his own future. Can't fault anyone for that.
